Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted October 6, 2002 It almost restores part of my faith in humanity to know that Red Dragon is above all the other crap out there.

Guest HBK16 Report post Posted October 6, 2002 My Big Fat Greek Wedding is still selling out at the theatre I work at. And Red Dragon only sold out twice in two days.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Nice to see that Barbershop is still doing well, and that My Big Fat Greek Wedding is gonna pass $150 mil. There's something about an inexpensive movie doing well at the box office that makes you smile...
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted October 7, 2002 How the hell does Sweet Home Alabama get that much?! Millions of women around the country drag their husbands/boyfriends/siblings/mailmen to it. They don't mind because it's Reese Witherspoon.
Guest Reject6:19 Report post Posted October 7, 2002 I guess I can look forward to "Barbershop 2"
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Glad to see One Hour Photo still hanging in... Based on previews I think Four Feathers had WAY higher expectations...heh, Balistic: Ecks vs Sever didn't last long The Transporter...does anything else think this movie is gonna kick ass? Guest Bosstones Fan Report post Posted October 7, 2002 The Transporter...does anything else think this movie is gonna kick ass? Actually, it looks like another generic "action flick" (i.e. lots of unrealistic stunts, bad dialouge, and a dumbass storyline), which makes me think it'll suck. Still, I'm sure I'll see it because I just can't get enough of those movies...

Guest Crucifixio Jones Report post Posted October 7, 2002 It doesn't restore my faith in humanity that Red Dragon tops the box office. It's the third movie in a successful Hollywood franchise that's more stacked with star power than any previous installment. OF COURSE the lemmings are gonna go see it. But they were too dim to go see MANHUNTER. You do the math.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted October 7, 2002 People didn't see Manhunter because they were too dim, they didn't see it because 1. It was poorly advertised and marketed, and 2. It was only released in about 950 theatres. Obviously the studio didn't have much faith in the film. It has since become a very successful cult movie doing great home video and DVD business. Just because you obviously dislike Red Dragon (assuming you have seen it), doesn't mean the people who did are lemmings. Hell, all the people that saw Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Spider-Man could be labelled the same using that logic. Thanks.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Manhunter came out in 1986 and did a little over $8 million boxoffice...and that's with a small release and a smaller budget. Maybe had they called the movie Red Dragon and said it was based on the book it would have done better.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 7, 2002 I want to see Red Dragon because there's good actors in it. They aren't JUST big name actors, they are also good actors. If the movie didn't have good actors in it i wouldn't want to see it. If wanting to see a movie featuring good actors is being a lemming...then what do we call those still flocking to Sweet Home Alabama?. Speaking of Sweet Home Alabama. Why the hell are so many of you people around here always surprised that movies like that get audiences and make big money? Do you people still not understand that romantic comedies = big money with North American audiences. I think Transporter looks good for the type of movie it's meant to be and i'll watch it sooner or later. I mean I'll watch anything with car stunts. I have no problem at all with unrealistic stunts, because if every movie was ultra realistic they would get boring. If i want realistic movies I watch dramas. I also want to see Knockaround Guys. Well of course i would since i'm a Vin Diesel fan. However it also has Seth Green, MALKOVICH! and Dennis Hopper so i'm there. But before anything i still need to see One Hour Photo if i can even find it in my area.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Transporter is from the guy that made The Professional, methinks, or at least the same company. Might be a lot more than just your standard action flick, because that's what The Professional appeared to be at first, and look how loved that movie is... Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted October 7, 2002 QUOTE] It seems like a vehicle to get Jason Staltham over as an action hero with the US market... They tried that in Ghost Of Mars (Even though Ice Cube was the star). You see the outcome with that.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Transporter is from the guy that made The Professional, methinks, or at least the same company. Might be a lot more than just your standard action flick, because that's what The Professional appeared to be at first, and look how loved that movie is... Luc Besson produced it. The last movie he produced was Kiss of the Dragon. If it's as "good" as that I'll pass. Transporter still looks like a complete and total ripoff of the Big Hit to me. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Ghost of Mars wasn't that bad! It was an entertaining B movie damnit. Even Roger Ebert agrees.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted October 8, 2002 I also want to see Knockaround Guys. Well of course i would since i'm a Vin Diesel fan. However it also has Seth Green, MALKOVICH! and Dennis Hopper so i'm there. Yeah, I can't wait to see that either, despide being delayed for over a year. That cast rules. A friend of my gf's worked on Knockaround Guys in a small role. He said part of the reason it was delayed is that they re-shot the ending because Diesel dies at the end. Not anymore.
