With their wins in 1990 and 1992. They had 29 wins in a row. So, will Miami go all the way to the final game and lose it? Lets look at the 1992 and 2002 schedules. 1992 Miami Iowa W 24-7 Florida A&M W 38-0 Arizona W 8-7 Florida State W 19-16 Penn State W 17-14 Texas Christian W 45-10 Virginia Tech W 43-23 West Virginia W 35-23 Temple W 48-0 Syracuse W 16-10 San Diego State W 63-17 Alabama L 13-34 ** SUGAR BOWL ** 2002 Miami Florida A&M W 63-17 Florida W 41-16 Temple W 44-21 Boston College W 38-6 Connecticut W 48-14 Florida State West Virginia Rutgers Tennessee Pittsburgh Syracuse Virginia Tech 2002 Miami will break the 29 games in a row streak. Face it.. the 30th victim of them will be Rutgers. Rutgers has never defeated Miami. The streak should go to 34 games and then end in the Final Game. Just like 1992. They'll have to play hard to beat FSU(who they'll beat), Tennessee(who I hope they don't beat), and Virginia Tech(who I think they'll lose to). Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Well, both the FSU and Va. Tech games are in Miami, so that's a plus for the 'Canes. Tennessee could be a tough game, if only because it's in TN. Of those 3, I think Va. Tech has the best chance to beat them, even though the game is in Miami. I said before the season, I'd be shocked if they repeated (and I'm a Miami fan), so it wouldn't surprise me if they lost to 1 of those 3 teams. And there's *no* way Nebraska will get close enough to even sniff #1. Nebraska has 2 losses already, plus they're not a very good team. It wouldn't shock me to see them finish out of the Top 25. Guest Leena Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Dorsey reminds me a lot of Rob Johnson. Yeah, Dorsey looks good now because he's getting absolutely no pressure, that won't be happening in the NFL. They still have 3 potentially tough games: --FSU - not as good as in the past, but it's still the Miami/FSU feud. You can bet Bobby Bowden will have his team up for the game. Whether the players can hang w/ Miami, I don't know. --Tenn. - at TN, which could make it tough. Miami went into Florida & won, which should bode well for Miami. --Va. Tech - this is the game I'm scared of. VT has a very good back in Suggs, and have played strong this season so far. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Texas will lose to Oklahoma. There's no way Nebraska will be #1 or 2. The BCS comittee wouldn't want the major backlash that would get. People complain about the BCS enough now, so i don't want to imagine what will happen if Nebraska makes a BCS bowl. Miami will be in the national championship game even if they lose 2 games. Guest danielisthor Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Been a Canes fan since i was 12. Though the 3 afore mentioned games will be tough, i have no doubt they will walk out victorious. Tennessee will probably be the closest of the 3. Florida State and Virginia at home in the Orange Bowl will be rocking and by the time Virginia comes to finish off the regular season, Miami will probably have already locked up their rank for the BCS. Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 7, 2002 well I brought up Nebraska because during the Big 12 Conference playoffs, Colorado won the championship with 2 major upsets but got snubbed because they lost their 1st game against Fresno State or San Diego State. So instead of Colorado getting a decent bowl game, Nebraska got the big money bowl game instead. Nebraska = ratings I hope Miami can win it but the bowl game system & BCS system is ruled by capitalism and the Doritos bowl game needs a big football school. Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Well, I'll *guarantee* Nebraska won't get the same thing this year. #1 - they're bound to lose at least 1 more game (they already have 2 losses, in which the looked bad in each) #2 - they're just not any good this year. It would be impossible for anybody to rank them high enough to figure prominently in the BCS.
