Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted February 28, 2002 Once again as I've said before, I can only list what I've seen. I've never seen Benoit VS Sullivan from GAB 1996, however if I had, I'm sure I would have listed it on my Overrated list. Also I won't do a review on it either, just some cool points and why I think it's so great. I plan on doing a single match review of my #1 match sometime next week, since I know I'll get a lot of questions about it. No Flair VS Steamboat, beacause we already know how damn good they were so there's no sense in beating a dead horse. 10. Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko VS Jerry Lynn and Eddy Guererro. (Nitro 1995) This was the first match I ever saw Benoit in so it has a sentimental value to me. Of course the four of them would be absolutly burried due to their talent. This match was living proof that a Cruiserweight divison would work. They do all sorts of cool flying spots, including a nice one when Eddy counters a back body drop by doing a back somersault over Deans back. I like this match because it was something diferent in an era where wrestling was getting hard to watch. 09. Raven VS Terry Gordy (Hardcore Heaven '96) This was what I feel is the best ECW match ever. I've already reviewed it so I'll just say that it was so damn good to me because Raven, who was portrayed as the ultimate heel gets the living hell beat out of him to satisfy the crowd before he gets lucky in the end. 08. Rockers VS Brainbusters (SNME March 1989) This was the best SNME match I have ever seen. Great double teaming, a nice interference move by Heenan and a double countout so one team wouldn't have to lose face. This was THE match for The rockers. They were jobbers to the stars at that point. They showed that when they face another good team and they all decide to work hard, a great match is produced and it makes Hogan and is boys look like stiffs. 07. Tito Santana VS Greg Valentine (WWF's Grudge Matches) This was a great cage match. It had all the nice buildup to the fans wanting to see Tito get his revenge on Valentine. A nice gimmick match to cause some blood shed. And an ending that the WWF ripped off for Jericho VS Regal. (Tito kicks Valentine in head with door as he tries to leave and climbs out) 06.E&C VS Dudleyz VS Hardyz (WM 2000) These 6 guys stole the show at WM. They took every risk there was and tried to show the world that they're not just tag teams, they're bona fide superstars with the ability to become main eventers in the WWF 05. DDP VS Randy Savage (Spring Stampede 1997) The match that proved that DDP was worth all the hype. He took a stiff like the Nacho Man and they put on a great match that to this day is probably the best match out of Savage since Ricky Steamboat at WM3 speaking of which. 04. Ricky Steamboat VS Randy Savage (Wrestlemania 3) Savage VS Steamboat is the match that saved this card. Do you really need a reason to know why it's so good? 03. Dream Team VS Brittish Bulldogs (Wrestlemania 2) Yet another case of some guys who decide to work hard in a match and try to show up the "Big names" The only good matches out of WM 2 are this, Hogan VS Bundy, and Funks VS JYD/Tito wasn't too bad. The spots are great for the time period and the ending came out of nowhere. 02. Sting VS Great Muta (GAB 1989) Sting and Muta back when they didn't suck. Muta used this match to become a big name in the US and Sting used this to get himself closer to the world title (which he won a year later). Great psychology and innovative (then) moves are more than enough to warrent this. 01. Chris Benoit VS Meng (GAB 1997) Yes you read that right. Remember these are all im MY opinion. You can get pissed off and joke around all you want but this match is damn great! A nice solid buildup (Benoit wants Sullivan) and some kick ass offense from both guys (suicide dive, top rope splash) The pop for the ending was deafening! Benoit took Meng and worked possibly the ONLY good match he will ever have out of him. Of course Dusty, Tony, and Bobby are their usual brilliant selves. This is THE match that turned me from Benoit fan to Benoit mark.
