Guest Kamui Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Since there's enough bitching and HHHate threads to last a lifetime on this board, I figured I'd throw something a bit more positive in here: The recent Smackdowns have been the most entertaining wrestling shows the WWE has put on since 2000 at least. You have five of the best workers ever collected on a single television show at one time (Benoit, Angle, Guerreo, Edge, and Rey) all wrestling each other in enough great matchest that will leave Scott Keith running out of stars by the time this run ends (yeah, I know some of you here hate him, but his Rants are usually good, sue me). Face it- ignoring the Taker crap, we've gotten nothing but ****+ matches out of combinations of those five- I mean, Eddy/Edge was beyond awesome and went to 20 minutes- on a commerical show! That's practically unheard of in the WWE! So, instead of dwelling on the negatives, why not talk about the positives a bit more? No, it might not have long-term effects, and no, it might not last if the ratings don't do a miracle shoot-up (McMahon is unwilling to find a core auidance and let it rise from there- which would be what would eventually happen if they keep up this pace), but for now, Paul Heyman has the book on Smackdown and he's done something completley wacky and unheard of in the WWE- pushed great workers in Main Events and let them run wild. And, what a shock, it's resulted in great shows. Let's try and talk about that more, instead of dwelling on the negative. And hey, next time you want to send WWE more complaints about how shitty RAW was because of Triple H, why not instead send them compliments about how good Smackdown was because of the five workers I just listed? Instead of complaining about RAW, why not let them know how good Smackdown has been recently, before it gets messed up again? I know it's a crazy thought for us internet fans to actually think positivley instead of negativley, but why don't we give it a try and see what happens. Plus, Matt Hardy's new heel character completley rules. -Duo The official voice of positive thinking on the SmartMarks Forums
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Funny Fact: NO ONE HAS RESPONDED TO THIS YET. That's why we never say anything positive to start off a thread. Positive stuff doesn't start conversation. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge

Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Yeesh. I'll keep the ball rolling. Smackdown is very enjoyable to watch. Last week's show left me anxious for this week's show to see what happens. That has not happened for RAW in months and months. Angle, Benoit, Edge, Los Guerreros and Rey make the show for me. Matt Hardy is also becoming very enjoyable. Most of the time they put out matches that own anything that happened on RAW post-split, or even Smackdown for the first 2-3 months after the split. Even its B show, Velocity, has good matches, often involving the Cruiserweights, and unlike Heat it isn't the same five or six people fighting each other week in and week out. I'm anxious for Tuesday night when the spoilers come out. Unlike many people, spoilers don't bother me. In fact, if there's something good, I await the last 2 days with even more interest. Thank God for the split, since it gave a show like the Smackdown of today.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Favre sucks. Tomorrow night, he is made Urlacher's personal bitch. I tape Smackdown! every week because it is that good. I think the problem is that the glaring negatives of RAW make it hard for us to enjoy wrestling as much as we should.

Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Have I been watching a different show? Four star matches? What is that, like out of eight? Other than that, I agree, Smackdown has had enough fun matches to keep me interested to the point that I'll keep watching despite constant bikini contests, Billy and Chuck involvement, and other siliness. Deffinitely a better show than Raw right now, even though both are pretty bad overall. As long as there's stuff like Benoit/Misterio on TV, I'll at least give it a chance. And it's nice to see people trying post origninial threads. God knows this place needs it.

Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Will someone just let Heyman book both shows already! There's no reason for RAW's sucktitude (unless you count that blonde world champion guy, but that's beside the point). Bullshit I tell ya!
Guest Banky Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Eddie Guerrero once made RAW watchable, and he is doing the same with Smackdown. It is only a matter of time until he invades your soul, captures it, and begins to own it. One cannot stop it, rather they can only hope to contain it. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Raw went from having Eddy, Benoit and Austin to having HHH and Kane.
Guest Banky Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Exactly, RAW was Eddie's playground, now its Smackdown. This past year, he has had two of the best TV matches in a very long time - on both brands. If this continues, it'll be scary to see what 2003 holds for him. A healthy, drug free, and happy Eddie Guerrero = One of the truly greatest wrestlers to ever lace a pair of boots. Be in awe of his godliness.

Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted October 7, 2002 i do think eddy is my favourite worker to watch right now. Even more so cos he successfully turned his life around to get where he is at the moment. But hey, let's have some negativity here shall we? that silver ring is fucking hideous, as are steph and nidia. there we go. Continue with the love.
Guest Kamui Report post Posted October 7, 2002 Yay! Positive thinking is alive on this board! Okay, and I agree that Steph sucks, but whatcha gonna do, if everything was perfect we'd have nothing to bitch about, hehe. -Duo
