I hate White Trash!

OK, I have to get this off my chest.

 

Before my better half and I were to see Red Dragon this weekend, we went out for dinner. We were seated by this White Trash family. Now this group of 8 – 5 adults, 3 kids were seated in the corner of a room. I knew they were white trash right off the bat because the dad had a neon orange hunting cap on while eating.

 

First off, the dad complained about how his dinner portion looked just the same as someone else’s lunch portion. When it was pointed out that the only difference was that the portions were bigger in SIZE, not number, he threw a fit. When the manager came over they also complained about the rudeness of the waitress. You see, the waitress had the GALL to ask one of the people at the table to pass some empty plates to the people at the table who she couldn’t reach because they were seated at a corner table and she had NO WAY of getting those plates to the three brats.

 

In typical redneck fashion, they also complained about the quality of the food, among other things. What was funny is that when a waitress or manager weren’t around they were acting perfectly fine (re: content), but when someone went to check up on them they were acting like they found spit in their food.

 

When the left, I called the manager over and told him that the waitress did nothing wrong in regards to being rude and that if not for pesky discrimination laws White Trash shouldn’t be served in public places.

 

God I hate White Trash

I do ignore them most of the time -- actually, I like to listen to them because they make me laugh. But when they pull stuff like this it makes me want to pull an OJ on each and every one of them...

I want to hear the same people complaining about "Trailer Park Trash" to start complaining about "Ghetto Garbage" and the immigrant and 2nd generation Mexicans who don't find it a priority to adjust to the American culture.

 

I live in an agricultural part of Cali where Mexians are beginning to out-number whites(I will be relocating soon enough.), as far as being inconsiderate, not speaking the appropriate language while not caring, thinking they can do anything they want since Mexico was no-holds-barred and exploiting the system I'd choose a "Redneck" over an uncouth Mexian any day. I'm tired of having to put up with them everywhere I go and having to adjust to them instead of them adjusting to the American culture.

 

I was in Oakland and wandered around not knowing where I was headed a few weeks back and I did make contact with the "Ghetto Garbage" and it wasn't pleasant.

 

Even though I am the ultimate cynic, I can see it's too easy to judge someone who grew up under certain circumstances that made them the way they are. I do hate the people who grew up a certain way, but once they enter adulthood or move to a place where the culture is different they fail to evolve, adapt and reach a certain level of sophistication.

First off, it's been my experience (and trust me, there is A LOT of experience in this area) that ghetto trash is more entertaining than white trash. In most of my jobs, we were located on a road that had bus routes from the city, so we got soooo many ghetto folk.

 

The difference between them and the white trash I encountered is that the ghetto trash knew they were po' and going to go nowhere in their lives, so they joked about it as much as they could. They'd yell at their kids if they wanted something that cost more than 50 cents, but it'd come across as a joke. Example:

 

Kid: "Mamma can I have case quarter fo' dis?"

 

Mamma: "Boy, you crazy, you know ho' much dat is?!?!"

 

Funny stuff.

 

White trash, on the other hand, were just so bitter about their lot in life that when a similar situation would happen, they would downright shout and beat their kid for wanting a piece of candy or some other low-priced trinket.

 

Boy: "Mom, can I have a quarter for this?"

 

Mom: "NO! YOU CAN'T! NOW SHUT UP WHILE I FIGURE OUT HOW TO SMUGGLE THESE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICHES INTO THE THEATER!!!" *slap*

 

Depressing. Downright depressing.

 

Although, it should be noted, that the ghetto trash tried more often to get free stuff and attempt to rip off cashiers by paying for something then throwing a bunch of bills on the counter asking for change for a $5, or asking for a $10 bill for 10 $1s (former/current cashiers know what I'm talking about).

 

As for Burro trash, I can't comment on them because I live in Ohio and the only Mexicans in this area fixed my complex's roofs, and they did a good job of it, too. However, I sympathize with you living in an area where assimilation isn't even a thought.

 

If you live in a country, you should speak the language. Oops, that's racist talk...
