Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 NWA: TNA reported on their website that Scott Hall will not be on the PPV this week. They added though that Syxx-Pac and BG James have "placed a call to a friend of theirs (who happens to be a former World Champion)" and that the surprise man will replace Hall on the show. Syxx-Pac, BG James, and the mystery man will take on Jeff Jarrett, Ron Killings, and Brian Lawler in the main event of this weeks PPV. Credit: NWATNA.com Edit: In my subtitle, I put former NWA champ. It says former world champ, so it could be from any fed. I'm thinking Corino or Shamrock or Steamboat.
Guest Brian Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 For RVD and Jericho's sake I'm hoping for HHH. But I'd expect Corino.
Guest converge241 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 maybe theyll panic and throw some cash @ Steiner Oh no........... wait a minute.......... Vince Russo is a former world champion!!!!!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I think it'll be Shamrock, because he still has dates on his TNA contract that they haven't brought him in for.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 That could be Steiner their talking about. Since Steiner isn't coming to the WWE, maybe he signed with the NWA:TNA.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Of course... it could always be Sabu again. or hey...what's Lex Loser doing?
Guest BifEverchad Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I'm guessin' Shammy is the 3rd man.. but is he a 'friend' of Syxx and BG? Bah!....maybe in the "wrestling world".
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 in the wrestling world "friend" means nothing more than another face or heel, depending on their affiliation.
Guest eiker_ir Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 who else could it be, other than the MAN himself... .... David Arquette~!!!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Damn your soul to hell.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I'd love it to be Corino...but I'm sure the average fan has no clue he's been a former world champ. Shammy would be a very lame choice, he was fuckin boring on TNA
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I smell...... Unemployment Line for Scott Hall.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Vince Russo is a former world champion!!!!! "...And that's when the WCW Train steamed through the building and wrecked for a second time!" Russo would be The Workrate Guy in that team, though.
Guest ShooterJay Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Corino is a former ECW champ, don't forget. He might be in Japan for Zero One though, so my bet would be Shamrock.
Guest Vyce Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 IF they're talking "world champ", I would soooo hope that it turns out to be Mike Awesome. After all, former ECW champ; just been released by WWE. The only problem I could forsee would be that perhaps there's a time-sensitive "no compete" clause in Awesome's contract that keeps him out of other feds for a time while he's getting his severance pay. Maybe I'm just being an optimistic Awesome fan. But really, I totally think Mike would fit in well in the NWA.
Guest scratch Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Guys guys guys, aren't we forgetting something? Whenever a former world champ shows up nowadays, it's usually SID. Don't get your hopes up for Corino, he'll never be back in the NWA in the near future. -Scratch
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 What a surprise, no "Sources Say Hall Was Fucked Up On Booze And Drugs" stories to be found on 1wrestling.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 What a surprise, no "Sources Say Hall Was Fucked Up On Booze And Drugs" stories to be found on 1wrestling. When that happens, Hall usually shows up at the last possible second, drunk off his ass. This time appearantly he called in several days in advance, making me presume there's something actually going on, maybe involving his kids or something. Who knows, and it's probably not appropriate to speculate. But this doesn't follow the pattern of his No Show Via Intoxication bit.
Guest converge241 Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 Mike Awesome makes the most sense not as much as Steiner they seem to be high on guys like that (apollo, Malice) hes available
Guest ShooterJay Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 What about Dan Severn? Although that would make about zero fucking sense, and would be a huge letdown.
