Guest Daredevil21 Report post Posted March 1, 2002 As much as I hate Wrestlemania 2000, I was just watching a bit of it, since I recently got it on DVD (too good of a price to pass up). Anyway, I haven't watched anything more than once, so I barely remember anything other than the outcome of the matches. So I was watching the Hardcore Battle Royal, since I remember enjoying some of it (although I thought the ungodly number of title changes during the match kinda ruined the importantness of the title). Now, it's been pointed out about the ending, where it seems that hardcore wasn't suppose to win. I've always wondered if that was the case, because it seems real possible. When Hardcore wins the match, the announcers think that Crash has won, the ref's third count seemed very weak and almost unintentional, Crash starts to leave with the title, the announcers talk about a possible reverse decision in Crash's favor and when Fink announces Hardcore as the winner, he seems very unsure of it. All that just seems like evidence enough that Hardcore was not suppose to win. I don't recall how liong he had the title after that; I just recall a six way hardcore title match at Backlash 2000. Could anyone enlighten me on this situation? Thanks.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Hardcore wasn't supposed to win. The finish was supposed to be Tazz putting the Tazzmission on Crash (Which he did), then Hardcore would hit Tazz with a candy jar. Hardcore makes the pin, but before the ref counts 3, the time limit runs out. It didn't happen that way due to mis-timing.
Guest the_tino_standard Report post Posted March 1, 2002 I believe that Crash won the belt the night after WM on Raw. Crash hired the APA to jump Hardcore on Raw or something. This cleaned up for the screwed up finish at the end of the battle royal at WM.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Tony149 is exactly correct on that one. And that was probably why the match was never done again.
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted March 1, 2002 It's too bad they don't do the match again, it was a good way to add variety to the card. As long as they pick a decisive winner and have a pin happen exactly at the 14:57, there is no reason to not have another Hardcore Battle Royal.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted March 1, 2002 heh. Hardcore must've felt about two inches tall walking backstage, holding a title he wasn't supposed to win (not saying it was his fault but still it must've been uncomfortable)
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 1, 2002 if it's uncomfterble to hold a tittle you shouldn't have won, than hogan must have spent alot of his career feeling really tiny.
