Top 10 IC Champs

As a follow up to my column concerning the Intercontinental Title, I have decided to give my personal list for top 10 greatest IC Champs of all time.

 

10. (tie)Chirs Benoit and Chris Jericho- In my opinion, the last time the title had any true meaning was when these two feuded over it in 2000.

 

9. Macho Man Randy Savage- Great heel champion and a part of one of the greatest IC matches ever.

 

8. Honky Tonk Man- Another great heel IC champ, and the crowd heat for him was incredible, just because they wanted to see him finally lose the belt! Longest reigning IC champ ever.

 

7.Ultimate Warrior- The IC title catapaulted him to WWF World title status.

 

6. Jeff Jarrett- Although he didn't necessarily bring much status to the title, he did hold it a record amount of times.

 

5. Razor Ramon- 4 time IC champ, and one of the most popular IC champs of all time.

 

4. The Rock- Although his reign began by Steve Austin handing him the belt, he was much like the honky tonk man in that the fans just wanted to see him lose the belt.

 

3. Shawn Michaels- Dominated the IC title for a period of time in the mid 90's.

 

2. Bret Hart- Best there is, best there was, best there ever will be. Enough Said.

 

1. Mr. Perfect- without a doubt the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time. He had the wrestling ability, the charisma, and the ability to make the fans care about the IC title.

 

Im sure some people may not deserve to be ranked as high as they are, but if you forget about numbers and just recognize that these 11 men are among the best IC champs ever, I believe this is a solid list. If you think Im wrong with anyone I put on the list, let me know, I'd love to hear your opinion.
