Zorin Industries Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 What song defines your musical tastes, and maybe says something about you as a person. You all go first, i'll post mine later.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 cool topic. I'll say God Machine, by Acid Bath. That gives a pretty good idea of the kind of stuff I listen to, and it sums up a few of my ideals pretty well.
Guest ShooterJay Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 A few, 12 Stones "Broken" Nickelback "Woke Up This Morning" Puff Daddy/Jimmy Paige "Come with Me."
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The Grouch -- Greenday With Smash -- Offspring A close second...
Guest meanmaisch Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Radiohead- Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box
Guest El Hijo del Homsar Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 "I Am The Cancer" by Sloan
Guest JAxlMorrison Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Let me think Guns N Roses "Estranged" and "Rocket Queen The Doors "The Soft Parade" and "Roadhouse Blues"
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Errrr.... Radiohead -- Lucky, if for no other reason than it rules, just like me. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest cynicalprofit Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 This changes by the moment....but currently standing at ReHab-It don't matter(and i dont care) the songs all about how life sucks, so fuck it. Thats where im at completely. Staind-Excess Baggage. If you dont feel his pain while listening to that, you are obviously dead. I know the pain that man feels and I can relate, I only wish I had wrote the song. To bad I will never be that good with what I write.
Guest converge241 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Crown Of Thorns or Man of Golden Words - Mother Love Bone What Jail is like - Afghan Wigs
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Who will save the Sane? By Type-O is another pretty good example for me.
Guest godthedog Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The Doors "The Soft Parade" and "Roadhouse Blues" did you wake up this morning & have yourself a beer?
Guest welshjerichomark Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 blazin' squad, crossroads a cool song, kinda defines my musical taste as it is a mix of pop, garage and r 'n b all of which i like. also dead ringer for love by meatloaf, not really sure why but its such a cool song
Guest saturnmark4life Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 i won't say a THING about blazing squad. OH god i have to mention that when i first saw the vid i thought it was a grange hill cast single from the late 80's. Do people actually WEAR shirts like that? i KNOW mine will be a smiths song, but then it's every single one in some ways. I don't think i can *quite* pick one. Golden lights is the only one i dislike even remotely, and they didn't write that.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Dancing Queen is pretty good for me too, now that I think about it. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest evenflowDDT Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The Doors "The Soft Parade" and "Roadhouse Blues" did you wake up this morning & have yourself a beer? I had a good laugh at this one. Anyway... I usually only think about topics like this when I'm feeling down, so I usually think of "Creep" by Radiohead and "I Started a Joke" by the Bee Gees (even though I still like The Wallflowers' cover better).
Guest Incandenza Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Faith No More's cover of "I Started a Joke" is pretty good. I saw a thread like this in WDI, and like with there, I can't think of a song that defines me. I will say that come every holiday season, I play the shit out of the Pogues' "Fairytale of New York."
Guest evenflowDDT Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I've never heard Faith No More's cover... I'll have to d/l it.

I fucking LOVE their version of Dirty Old Town, in fact I love Shane Magowan in general. Kind of explains why I have all the Pogues cds he's on and all his solo stuff dosen't it.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Nevermore - "Believe In Nothing" sums me up for some odd reason...
Guest godthedog Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 beatles: 'strawberry fields forever'. the overall sound AND the lyrics suit me nicely.
Guest razazteca Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Metallica or Gwar - So Fucking What
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Actually Bif, that reminds me of something. First recommendation I EVER had on Morpheus/Kazaa, and this was after six months of having the program, was "Loser." I'd had a really horrible day too. I may have cried, I don't remember. But then DANCING QUEEN~! made it all better!!! Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Marshall Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 blazin' squad, crossroads a cool song, kinda defines my musical taste as it is a mix of pop, garage and r 'n b all of which i like. Oh dear. Can someone get her a copy of the original Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song. Whilst I go and murder Blazin' Squad, murder them dead!
Guest Nevermortal Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 "Where Eagles Dare" by The Misfits. Because I ain't no goddamned son of a bitch.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Nevermortal, my friend Jason and I sing that song at least three times a day...for no real reason. I ain't no God damned son of a bitch, you better think about it baby. I ain't no God damned son of a bitch, you better think about baby, babay...
Guest Sandman9000 Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Either "The Way I Am" by Eminem or "Sacrifice" by Trik Turner. However, "Emily" by Bowling For Soup has some much similarity with my life it scares the shit out of me.
Guest Mad the Swine Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 I Just Wasn't Made for These Times or I Know There's An Answer Two gems about life from the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. Then again, the whole album is just a wonderful story about the wavering good and crap of life.
