Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Well, everything has been said pretty much. Another that pops into mind is Wrestlepalooza '97 when RVD and Sabu kicked the entire roster's ass. Don't forget about Lawler Lawler: *pointing at Beullah* "Look at the slut! Look at the slut!" *high pitched laugh*

Guest papacita Report post Posted October 16, 2002 I've never seen much ECW either, but one Friday night, I got sent home from work early so I turned on ECW/TNN from the Hammerstein Ballroom in the summer of 1999. The first segment saw Heymen get gored. That led to the entire roster to hit the ring. That's when 'Bawitaba' hit over the PA. Kid Kash ran to the ring looking for Rhino so the TV Title match could start. I THINK they moshed him onto Rhino as well. Anywhoo, the ECW roster w/ Rhino spilled outside the ring to brawl, when Kash hit a plancha ONTO THE ENTIRE ROSTER!!! Woooooooooo!!!!! The segment ended w/ Kash upsetting Rhino thanks to help from Sandman. It was definitely good stuff! That match made me fall in love with ECW all over again in 2000. As for my favorite moments...#1 was the whole Raven/Tommy match from Wrestlepalooza 97, and the shit that went down afterwards with Sabu, RVD, Lawler, Taz and Shane. I was watching the tape a few weeks back, and I still mark out for it. The WWF Vs ECW storyline is one of my favorites. #2- The first time Austin showed up on ECW TV, with the Hogan parody. #3-Tazz beating Awesome for the World Title in 2000...I found out about it on from Wrestleline...I think that's the only time I've ever marked out reading a news report. Then WWF had to go fuck it up by jobbing Tazz to Crash Holly and Triple H while he was Champion... #4-Francine turning on the Pitbulls during the 4-way dance @ Heatwave 96. I was a big Shane mark at the time, so it was all good.

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 1, 2002 I'd usually agree with the Tommy winning the belt deal...but they must have had some shitty deal with the WWF at the time. I can handle that Dreamer lost the belt 10 minutes after he got it. But I think that the match was never shown on tv really kills it all. They pretty much just showed Tommy holding the belt after he won, with Tazz in the ring, and then the match with Justin. WWF should have let the Tommy/Tazz match on ECW tv. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted November 3, 2002 I got that Wrestlepalooza DVD recently having never seen much on it aside from the Taz/Shane stuff and Taz/Sabu (saw that on a show where they explained the hatred between Taz and Sabu). My god that was some awesome shit. When the lights went out all those times and RVD/Sabu/Lawler appeared and just beat the hell out of everyone, I was gripped by it even 5 years later. I cannot do justice to the kind of heat that generated. The 2nd half of that show ranks among the greatest stuff I've ever seen, from the beginning of Raven/Tommy to the end of Taz/Shane. Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 16, 2002 Sandmans return to ECW, whenever that was The bump Spike took through I believe 3 tables lit on fire, this match was supposed to be a part of the first TNN ECW show, but the entire taping got scrapped for the event at the former Manhattan Center which saw Raven return. The aftermath of the Guererro-Malenko farewell match Hell, the ECW theme song and opening video montage playing always was a "moment" for me even.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Report post Posted November 16, 2002 Biggest ECW moments for me(granted I have seen nothing other than ECW TNN shows and Hardcore History) Huge Stand off between RVD(TV champ) and Mike Awesome(World Champ). The challenge is laid out, the bell rings to start the match...and the lights go out. lights come up and Sabu is in the ring. Crowd is all about the "3 way dance, 3 way dance", then Sabu attacks RVD prompting a heinous beatdown by Awesome and Sabu, which would have left the door open for super hot matches involving the belts. Can't remember why they couldnt do it, but I think Sabu left around this time? Raven returning to win the tag titles with Dreamer. Tajiri challenging Justin Credible for the world title and pummeling him and Francine the entire match. Highlighted by the STIFFEST FUCKING KICK I have ever seen anyone take after JC ducked his head right into Tajiri's foot. JC was on dream street but still finished the match. He had a huge boot print on the side of his face which was lovely to see.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted November 16, 2002 I dont know if this was added to it but I have to mention ECW's first PPV. Terry Funk winning the title. That place exploded and Tommy Dreamer getting emotional.

I picked up the VHS version last week not expecting much since I didn't follow it back in 1997. I read about the WWF invasion on the back of the box and thought that should be good. That was GREAT!!!You know you're seeing a wicked beatdown when The Gangstas are no match for Mr. Dam and The King. Wahoooooooooo!!!!!!!! I could watch that again! I was there, Toledo, Ohio 6th row on the rail, baby! Buh Buh spat water on me when him and D-von were walking to the back, probably cause I was marking out for them. It was 2 fire tabels, that was a fun fun show...although they went with the Queens show for the first TNN broadcast cause the crowd was hotter and Raven came back.
