The main event wasn't anything special. Hell, I even missed the finish. I know HHH & Kane won. The Hogan video was great. I love watching old highlights. Man, I hope Vince knows he's sitting on a goldmine with all the footage he owns.

And the main event was ok, but its pretty bad when the WWF cant even have continuity between RAW And Smackdown, where on RAW Angle and Jericho are fighting for the Title and then on Smackdown they are Tagging...

Well, I think it can be explained that Flair forced them to team against Kane/Trips. As for the Hogan video I marked out, so flame me I don't care. I agree about American Made though (yuck). I don't know if a video package of Rock or Austin can really touch that to be honest. It's actually scary and spooky that the wwf has Hogan's stuff in wcw as well. Vince must be laughing anytime he puts in those wcw videos. At least the wwf is being pretty much honest on Hogan's career and part of the reason he left the wwf. BTW, the WM theme song stinks.

The Edge idea would be fine except for they would be turning him heel in his HOMETOWN.  That sure worked wonders for Austin last year, turning him in Texas.  I say let Edge make a save for RVD and he can win the title that way, then the heel turn happens when they get back to the US.  In Canada the crowd might cheer Edge attacking RVD, or they might boo it, I dunno....most likely they would just scratch their heads and do nothing.

Hogan video kicked a lot of ass.  Hard to believe though, that this was a show leading up to Wrestlemania, with so little happening..

The only thing that I liked about Hogan's video package was that they used some WCW footage and put it over.  (On a sidenote, I'm surprised that they allow Booker to keep saying 5 time WCW champion.....I thought they wanted us to forget about WCW.)  

 

I'm also surprised that they used WCW music for that video package.

Mr. Rhodes, if I may give you a piece of advice, you should start a topic called ... "Smackdown Thoughts" or somethin' and paste that post there. It's going to be wasted in this Smackdown thread.

 

I'm sure you put a lot of work into your post, even if you didn't type it. Nevertheless, I'm sure everyone else who's ever watched you on television knows of the difficulty you have with speaking.

To me it looks like you're just complaining for the sake of complaining.

 

They've teamed before as baddies, why not again? A title match shouldn't really come between them, considering Angle dislikes Kane and Triple H a lot more than Jericho. Plus, Angle and Steph are supposed to be friends.

Hogan's video package was awesome in the sense of his history. Seeing clips of him on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, etc. Hell, I never knew Joan Rivers had a talk show.

Jericho wasn't too thrilled about tagging with Angle, he was even bragging about beating him.  Why does Kane still have that crappy gimmick?  Why did Maven lose his title just before Tough Enough 2 started?(not that I'm complaining)  The Goldust impression of Flair was funny though.

That's odd since it showed very little of his ring work and promos.  Oh well.. I was a Hogan mark as a kid so I liked seeing all that old footage.  It wasn't impeccably produced like the Desire video or anything, but I had fun with it nonetheless.

The footage made me sick.

 

Seeing him in the ring without his shirt on posing reminded me how much I hate his ring work.

 

And the big deal about Hulkamania reminded me of the propganda coming out of Nazi Germany.

And why did the WWF make us suffer through an extra Billy & Chuck/APA match? I'm sure we all feel that the one match at Wrestlemania will be more than enough.

 

I thought the Hogan video package was great and stirred up some fond memories and the Flair beatdown on 'Taker was the most well executed progression of any angle on the show last night. I loved the "dirtiest player in the game" line.

 

Steve Austin's schtick has gotten completely ridiculous and the whole shooting Nash with a net thing was stupid. Why can't Austin keep getting his ass beat leading into WM and then get his revenge against Hall there? We all know he's going to win the match at Mania so make him the underdog leading into it so that his victory has more meaning.

Heck, I didn't even know that! I only saw bits and pieces, so I taped it.

 

 

I loved the shampoo commercial Booker T. did. Good gravy, how can you not laugh at someone saying, "Japanese people ... why yo' hair so nasty." in such a dead-serious voice?! I'm very surprised there've been no "Vince is a racist" threads started yet, too.

 

I'm gonna watch the entire show later. I think I'll like it, if just for the fact that they're doing actual angles with the midcard.
