Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 9, 2002 WWE Informs Wrestlers Of Upcoming RAW & Smackdown Changes WWE management was all business last night on RAW, apparently more focused than ever in turning things around. The entire RAW roster was told the following by WWE agents: -More soap-opera type storylines were being written by the creative team, such as the Kane murder angle and the Victoria/Trish angle. Vince McMahon is very high on such storylines. -WWE knows that Smackdown has thus far been the better accepted show, and in order to get some of the match formula that has worked on Smackdown over to RAW, Michael Hayes has been moved to RAW. Hayes has been an agent for Smackdown thus far and put together some of the shows top matches. Bruce Prichard will be moved to Smackdown. While some are excited by WWE's new direction, many feel that Vince still is out of touch with what the fans want, considering that Smackdown has been the better show without dramatic soap-opera type angles. Some hope that Michael Hayes will be able to help Brian Gerwertz (head of the RAW creative team) deliver a more Smackdown-type program which pushes more "sports" than "entertainment." Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Um, I thought Hayes was on Raw? Fuck this Soap Opera Crap! This is the crap that turned me off in 98-99. (Still watched, but hated alot of it) [some hope that Michael Hayes will be able to help Brian Gerwertz (head of the RAW creative team) deliver a more Smackdown-type program which pushes more "sports" than "entertainment."] Make up your God Damn mind! You want Sports or friggen 90210 crap?! I'm so damn sick of these resets every few weeks/months.
Guest Midnight Express83 Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Smackdown is a hot show because they have Chavo, Eddy, Benoit, Angle, Edge, and Mysterio wrestle in some combo every week. RAW has had afew good matches over the past few months. Eddy/RVD Benoit/RVD and TLC4. But more crap than good. And only one of these matches was over **** and thatw was Benoit/RVD. Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 9, 2002 If the WWE goes in this direction, they may succeed, depending on what storylines they use, they may not. What they need to do, is make RAW more about the sports entertainment aspect, and Smackdown more about the wrestling aspect, what they're trying to do now. Still, they can mix some wrestling into the sports entertainment, and vice versa. It will take some time, but eventually, Vince and company will find what exactly the fans like. Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 9, 2002 great now Raw can go back to the great storylines that made Raw must see tv. Can't wait to see Molly give birth to a glove
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 9, 2002 What a relief. I was afraid that Smackdown would stay a wrestling show, and the top two guys (Taker and Brock) would be put into a position where plodding would be unaaceptable. And that just couldn't happen. Guest Brian Report post Posted October 9, 2002 "HELLO? Molly's a virgin... thus making that glove immaculately conceived and our SAVIOR!" Molly's a little to young to be having Chris Benoit, don't ya think? Would it be a coal miner's glove and possess whomever put it on during a raw roulete match. Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Can't wait to see Molly give birth to a glove I remember that. Probably the most stupidest angle ever.

Guest franchise632 Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Wait, I've got an idea. Why not just get rid of Brian Gerwitz and let Paul E run both shows. They have enough people to make it not as big a strain. With Paul, hayes, patterson, brisco, the pritchards, stephanie, shane and vince. That is more then enough people to write televison shows. And hey they are all wrestling people, not people that wrote Friends.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted October 9, 2002 So far, I think the WWE is 1 for 2 on soap opera angles. The Trish-Victoria one shows potential. It helps develop and give personality to a new character, possibly could add more depth to another, and, at this point, seems like the kind of angle that can conceivably be finished in the ring i.e. Trish was a bitch to Victoria at some point in Victoria's life, Victoria took it to heart, and now wants to kicks Trish's ass for revenge or something. It seems fine enough. The Kane-HHH one, on the other hand, is just stupid. Kane killed some girl? That's nice. How is this going to be settled in the ring? Have Triple H going, "Kane, you bastard! You killed Katie Vick, and now I am going to face you in a horrible match!" It makes no sense to me, and will probably flop. On the plus side, more soap opera angles means more cheesy storylines, which can provide some entertainment in a bad way. I would rather be able to say that an angle is stupid as opposed to boring, but maybe that's just me.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 10, 2002 They move Hayes to RAW in hopes that he will bring some of Smackdown's good wrestling formula with him. 2 Problems: 1: Vince still wants Soap Opera stuff and the writters are still writing soap opera stuff. 2: Hayes isn't bringing Angle, Eddy, Benoit, etc. with him. So, RAW is now Soap Operas and Smackdown is now Wrestling... Hmm..

Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 10, 2002 The real Soap Opera Storyline is going on behind the scenes. Steph & Triple H are slipping Vince, Drugs & Poison in his drinks. Making him crazy and unable to think straight, hoping they can take over the Company.
