The early 90's had alot of solid matches that weren't PPV matches but can be found on Coliseum video:

 

 

Steiners vs. Hart Bros. Wrestlefest 94. This match built slowly until the hot ending which resulted in a double countout. Their was some incredible heat segments and the perfect way to book two babyface teams against another.

 

XPac/Razor vs. HBK/Diesel- Wanna see a kevin Nash match where he actually does something? Until an HBK superkick lets him do what he does best. Great work, great heat and some good highflying from those who could

 

Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair- Bret's first title win. I believe it is on the Smack Em Whack Em tape. Great match with Flair as the classic heel.

 

If Clash of the Champs doesn't count, gotta go with the Benoit/Wellington vs Liger/Pillman where they tell Bill Watts Fuck you and proceed to jump off the top rope anyway and rock the house.

because in the five or six minutes prior to taking the superkick the man was actually moving and working. Then the superkick allowed him to lay around while hbk rocked the house.

I don't even remember exactly how good the first two matches were technically, but I know I haven't marked as much for a non-PPV match as I did for these three since the height of the WCW Cruiserweight era (Which, by the way, should just be included on this list as an entity by itself, SO much great stuff that not much stands out).  

 

I actually found the HHH/Taka match on an unlabeled tape recently, and I re-watched it, and I *still* thought Taka was gonna win the darn thing when he set HHH up for the Michinoku Driver.  Dammit, Triple H, you suck, I hope you fight someone like The Rock who can beat your ass sometime within the next month, and I would pay $29.95 to see it happen!  Wait, what's this?  Rock vs. HHH at Backlash 2000?  Sweet!
