Wow.... and I actually woke up about the time the victim was shot in a cold sweat after a nightmare.. but I went back to sleep... just got up again and got the news... unbelievable.

No, the cab driver killed was black as was the 13 year old boy who was shot.

The cab driver was from India, and the boy who was shot was

described as "freckled face". Not to be racist, but freckles usually

are far more common among the caucasian race.

Everything the authorities have done so far hasn't worked. They said schools weren't a target, the 13 year old gets shot, they started a geographical profile..the shooter(s) expaned there area. They need to rethink there methods of catching this person or persons.

While the Redskins game will go on as scheduled, police tell ESPN that all high school football games scheduled for nothern Virginia this weekend have been cancelled.

Games in Prince George County have been postponed until Monday.

Washington D.C. schools are expected to make a decision on its schedule of games sometime Friday.

Well, it's irrelevant now, since the latest victim at the gas station is confirmed as a black man. By the way, about the boy I'm pretty sure they were interviewing relatives who were black. Also, take my word for it, PG county is a largely black county. Anyway, it doesn't matter I dont think there's any racial pattern

OK now I just heard that CNN reported shots were fired upon another

Elementary School? This is insane. Has Bush or Ashcroft made any

statements regarding the sniper? And by the way, not to take away

from the utter seriousness of this, Cheif Charlie Moose is one kick ass

name.

Here is the bit, from Boston.com

News update: A CNN report that shots were fired outside a Bowie, Md., elementary school is unconfirmed. School officials report that nobody on school grounds was shot.

How about this for an idea.

Share nothing, not any tips, don't let the sniper you know what kind of van he is driving

I swear, the media helps these madmen indirectly

i don't think the sniper is moving much at all. He's probably staying in a certain area, finds a good place not being spotted, and bam, there goes another guy.

All these gas stations hit? I think he's protesting that the Iraq situation is all about oil, and wants to show that there's blood on the hands of these gas merchants, since this oil is essentially "blood money" if a war is started over it.

The motion to allow Bush to attack Iraq passed last night. The sniper had to whack someone right away this morning to get his point across. At least that's what I think is happening.

Killing people is an incredibly retarded (not to mention counterproductive) anti-war message. I'd hope someone would have more sense than that.

Guest Smell the ratings!!!

Not that I'm adding anything here at all, but this seems to be just another crazy. All the usual patterns like race, or a similar location, things like that aren't there.

Of course, if he is a lunatic, than maybe he only shoots the people that God tells him to or something for all I know.

I agree with Poppick actually. This morning I saw on Cnn that the cops were stopping all white vans with ladders on top on I-whatever. Odds are pretty good that the guy(s) sees all of these police reports that come on every time he fires a shot.

Guest imajackoff?

It seems like the authorities are always at least 3 steps slower than this guy(s). That Cheif Moose guy looks like the very definition of clueless. I've got half a mind to take a couple of days off and do some crime fighting. Who's with me?? To the imajackoff? mobile!!

This folks, is when Ex-War Vets go bad...really bad.

And good LORD this guy has a shot. Don't mean to be sounding sick by saying this, but this guy knows his stuff.

Killing in Maryland AND Virginia? Oh dude, your fucked. Crossing state lines is a HUGE no-no.

Edit: If I was him, I'd get the fuck out of this area and go to Canada or the west coast and do my stuff there. If there's more random shootings in the west, then mid-west, south, etc. they'll never catch this guy. It's not like he's staying around either. Finds a person, boom your dead, gone.

A more likely reason is that gas stations tend to be rather open, allowing a fairly easy shot, even from a distance. It doesn't take a lot of military training to be accurate with a .223, even from a kilometer. Someone with a scope who is a decent shot could plug some poor sap standing at a gas station rather easily. Also, keep in mind that gas stations are accessible to major roads, prividing many possible routes for escape. To me, it sounds like this is someone who has picked good killing fields, as opposed to some vague protest of a nonexistent oil situation.

um, no.

he's not that accurate; he's just a competent marksman. most of his shots have been estimated, what, 150-200 yards? I could match his record myself, probably just with iron sights, and I'm no especially great shot. Hitting a target the size of a man's head is easy, esp. if you have your rifle rested well & use a scope.

Yeah that means the FBI can get involved automatically correct?

The field office has been involved for some time now.

And Kane: try to stop being a such an obscene little twit if you can possibly help it. You have an agenda, that's fine. Post it in the appropriate thread and defend it if you can, instead of imputing it to a murderer and gleefully pointing out imaginary symbolism in the timing of the killings. Christ.

imajackoff: County Police Chief Moose is a very sound, intelligent, and dedicated man. He and his officers have put their lives on the line for others innumerable times. If you, in your limitless genius, have come up with a useful suggestion to get three steps ahead, let's hear it. If you don't, you might want to stop insulting those who risk death in order to serve and protect. "Clueless?" How would you know? As far as I'm aware you have no information beyond what you get from the media.

If I'm wrong, kindly correct me.

How am I being a twit? I don't have an agenda, but I was trying to make sense of the sniper's agenda, and that's an idea I've been kicking around. It doesn't mean I agree with it. If that's the way I thought, wouldn't I NOT want that to be the agenda of a lunatic, to make my take on the foreign conflict look bad? You're right that these killings might not have any meaning at all, but don't say I'm "gleefully" putting "my" agenda into the killings.

the horrors we've committed on Iraq for over a decade... [he's giving] us a taste of our own medicine by ending civilian lives in their day to day routines just as we have done to innocents over in the Gulf. This is his protest about our military bullying of Iraq.

the Iraq situation is all about oil... this oil is essentially "blood money" if a war is started over it

It seemed pretty obvious from the tone and the claims you made - you didn't say "in the sniper's head" or present them as hypotheticals, but as facts. Which not one of the above statements is.

Not to mention that the link is extremely far-fetched. He's also killed a few people in parking lots, as well as a teenage boy on his way to junior high. Where was the oil connexion? It doesn't exist. If your agenda doesn't include a silly, simplistic, and completely baseless criticism of the administration's Iraq policy, I can't begin to imagine why you chose to expound on this absurd theory here. On the other hand, if it does, I can see you passing it off with the usual Palestinian terrorist disclaimer - it's a just cause, although you don't approve of the tactics, you understand, blah blah blah.

If I was wrong, although I don't think I was, be clearer in the future and keep your tone more neutral.

It's true I didn't mark off the sections in quotes, just presented a theory on how he's thinking. I can see how you'd think it was, and that was my fault--I just thought you were a little too quick to flame, is all.

Although, I still stand by the theory that this isn't a random nut without a purpose. Of course the accusations could be baseless and far fetched--the man obviously isn't grounded in reality--but I think he believes in a "greater purpose" in all of this, and I think our current foreign affairs pushed him over the edge.

As a side note, I think Chief Moose is the coolest guy on television now. If he put out a T-Shirt, I'd buy it.
