Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted October 10, 2002 I loathe PETA with a passion. That being said, I'm going to let everyone judge this article for themselves. Click Here And here's one of the cards that was discussed in the article. Looks a lot more like Garbage Pail Kids then Pokemon, really. Discuss.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) will hand out trading cards to pupils which also claim that milk will give them wind." Windy Wendy?!?! I'm speechless... Totally speechless... Guest MrRant Report post Posted October 10, 2002 I just wish a bunch of cow farmers would set fire to PETA's headquarters.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted October 10, 2002 People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) will hand out trading cards to pupils which also claim that milk will give them wind." Milk gives you gas, PETA is full of shit. One of these things is a proven fact.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted October 10, 2002 They plan to tell youngsters at Aberdeen Grammar School that drinking milk will make them fat and cause spots. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) will hand out trading cards to pupils which also claim that milk will give them wind. The Pokemon-style cards feature "dairy-damaged" cartoon characters Windy Wendy, Chubby Charlie, Spotty Sue and Phlemy Phil. Have I ever mentioned that I really hate alarmist, fear-based propaganda? Especially when the "facts" behind it are weak at best? I've never understood people who would constrain the human race in order to make lives easier for animals. Fuck these assholes. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted October 10, 2002 What do they think is going to happen if they succeed? That the farmers will just let the cows free. Doesn't PETA realize that it would mean we just get a worldwide beef surplus? PETA is nothing more than a bunch of terrorists. Why doesn't Bush go after them? Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted October 10, 2002 Can someone just send a fully armed Ted Nugent to their headquarters and unload, Max Payne style?
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted October 10, 2002 To help the P.E.T.A. cause, I'm going over to my local elementary school right now and tell kids to stop drinking milk and buy soda instead in protest.[/superdick Mode] I'm just waiting for the day they decide that we shouldn't spay or neuter pets or even own pets because it's against the rights of the animals. Then all of the sudden there are a bunch of stray animals all over the place then they start bitching that we should take care of them more.
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Geez can they be forcing their views on people any more? I guess they want to ignore all the benefits that come from drinking milk and focus on myths. Makes you fat? Haven't they ever heard of fat free? In fact I think I'll go have a big glass of milk now that I think of it.

Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Excellent. I'm really glad to see that none of you are completely insane, like those monkey's at PETA. I mean, I have nothing against Vegans or their lifestyle...but no one should push their ideals down everyone's throats, and NO ONE should deliberately spread disinformation to *children*. I mean, don't they care about all the Humans that are starving? Shouldn't we maybe try and take care of these people before a bunch of cows? Especially dairy cows...they're treated quite well, because a stressed out cow produces bad milk. Hell, I'd venture to say that some animals are treated way better than most of the homeless people in America. I wish PETA would try and help, you know, PEOPLE. But that's obviously not what they're all about.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Some P.E.T.A. members would probably rather indirectly kill a starving homeless person than let them have a steak.

Funny thing is a fixed pet will live a longer, healthier life than one that isn't. I can see PETA's next slogan for this abortion of a campaign: Drink milk and be a poopyhead... Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted October 11, 2002 *guffaw* "Pokemon-style cards". Nice research there, bub. They're Garbage Pail Kids knock-offs if anything. Can't see too many kids buying into that. "I choose you! Spotty Sue!" lacks pizzazz. And what's that in the background? Some kind of milk eruption from the fire hydrant? Who drew that crap? "Children would spit out their milk if they knew how cows suffer in the dairy industry." Whatever you say there, chief. The plight of the noble dairy cow doesn't weigh too heavily on the youths' minds, I'd wager.
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted October 11, 2002 So...apparantly it's ok for people like this to force their beliefs on us...so I nominate that what's good for the goose is good for the gander. I'm getting a big billboard downtown that says "EAT COWS. They're tastier then fucking lettuce." I wonder if I'd get in shit for that...assuming that vulgarity was a non-factor. Guest big Dante Cruz Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Man, I can't stand PETA. Let's look over what they said, hmmmmm? Quote: "The calcium contained in milk is essential for growth." But Peta dismissed the advice. "Calcium is important, but cows' milk is actually a bad source of calcium," said Mr Gifford. "It is loaded with bovine protein and sulphur amino acids which cause upset in the stomach when you drink it. "Studies from all over the world have shown that there are far better methods of sourcing calcium. Please tell me you're kidding. Wait, sorry, you're really that stupid. Milk is a BAD source of calcium? As opposed to what, gnawing on bones? Swallowing teeth? Quote: The group also claim that milk has been linked to more serious health problems, including heart disease, cancer, stroke and even osteoporosis. Osteo... osteo... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Hmmmm, drinking milk only prevents calcium loss in bones and therefore prevents osteoporosis and these guys are telling me that it causes heart disease, cancer, strokes and the SAME THING IT PREVENTS AS PROVEN IN NUMEROUS STUDIES?! Combine that with the "got beer" campaign and the efforts to change the Wisconsin state drink to soy milk, calling up Virgil Ward to ask him to take a stand against fishing and you end up with a group I can't even think about without my blood pressure jumping about fifty points. The truth: P.E.T.A. = People Eating Tasty Animals
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted October 11, 2002 the "got beer" campaign and the efforts to change the Wisconsin state drink to soy milk In honor of A Fistful of Yen, excuse me while I mouth the phrase "What...the..fuck?" That's got to be some of the most ass-backwards line of thinking I've heard in the longest time. Let's promote beer so they'll change it from milk to soy milk? Hey P.E.T.A., are you fucking stupid or something? No, no I take that back, that's a fucking marvelous idea! In fact, that's how we should go about teaching our susceptible youth that milk is evil. Give those kiddies beer! Killing your liver is a LOT better than that bad milk calcium that gives you osteoporosis. I'm gonna go outside schools all over the state and promote beer under the P.E.T.A. banner to help their cause to get milk out of the hands of our impressionable youth.[/ANGRY RANT]
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Okay, I did a little research (looked in the fridge) and an 8 oz glass of Grade-A Kroger Brand 2% milk gives a person with a 2000 calorie diet 30% of their daily value of calcium. Combine that with a bowl of Cheerios (which are fortified with vitamins and minerals), and you're up to 55%. That's a little bowl, too. Provided these kids are also drinking milk at school, we're up to 85%. A glass of milk with a sandwich or some oreos or something after school, and we're well over 100%. Now, how is milk a poor source of calcium?
Guest big Dante Cruz Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Erm, the soy milk and the "got beer" campaign weren't really related, I just put them in as examples of other stupid things PETA has done, but I like your argument, too. They're probably trying to figure out how people on this board kill bunny rabbits for fun anyway. Anyone remember PETA's deal with fur? They threw red paint on people wearing it? First off, that's friggin' expensive and a good way to get your tail kicked. Second, most of the people they threw paint on were wearing FAKE fur! They had originally supported the same point of view until these bleeding heart panda huggers started chucking paint.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I completely agree. But wait, Garbage Pail Kids were a blatent rip-off of Cabage Patch Kids - why weren't they sued? I believe Topps issued the Garbage Pail Kids cards. I forget if they were sued or not, but there was some kind of action against them, and Topps then changed the way the characters on the cards looked so as to not be so Cabbage Patch-like. I'm trying to remember back like 15 years, so I might be wrong...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 11, 2002 If I saved up and bought a girl a fur, just to have some assbag throw paint on it...I would seriously alter that person's appearance.
Guest cdstunner66 Report post Posted October 11, 2002 What I would love to do is grab one of these peta/militant vegan assholes, tie them up take them to the zoo, put a huge steak in front of them and hold a gun to a panda's head. "Eat the steak or the panda gets it." Just imagine the moral meltdown it would cause.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I rather would tie steaks onto them and let a grizzly bear loose. I would make it a more ironic death.
