Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted October 11, 2002 His opening promo on Smackdown was GOLD. I loved how he was warning Taker not to come into the ring "for his own good" etc. Great stuff. Too bad Taker no-sold everything, but that's Taker/Kane for ya. And that Desire video? Amazing. Matt Hardy is quickly becoming a heel on the level of the old WCW Chris Jericho, and I hope WWE is smart enough to actually push him.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Definatly the more entertaining Hardy, I'm at the point where I couldn't stand Jeff. And Matt was getting on my nerves...at least now he makes me laugh. So yeah, I have Mattitude...but I wouldn't put him on par with WCW Jericho, he's not as comfortable on the mic
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Oh he will get pushed alright, right off the hell in the cell cage at the next ppv.
Guest Hitman Jebus Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I have nothing to add that LaParkaMarka hasn't said already except... 2 months ago--> Matt Hardy: the so-called "Jannetty" of the Hardyz Today--> MATTITUDE~!!!!! RUNNING WILD AND SWEEPING THE WRESTLING NATION... Congrats Matt
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Yeah, really. Who's idea was it to give him a personality, and help him with his mic skills? I never thought a Hardy would entertain me, but now I'm a mark for Matt. To think, that a few months back when Team Extreme were running around in neon jackets, I was at my breaking point with them (although I still can't stand Jeff or Lita). Guest Drakoan Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Who would have thought it would be possible that we would be singing the praises of Matt Hardy. Whomever he went to for learning charisma needs to work with RVD and Benoit just a little. Although Benoit was doing a lot better tonight. Too bad you have to either be a bag of foam packing peanuts or a ringpost for Taker to sell for you.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted October 11, 2002 On the positive side, there is actually hope for him getting pushed. He's nowhere near the worker of the Trinity, but he's a good worker, seller, and is dedicated. Plus Matt--if WWE stats are correct, is the same height as Steve Austin. A little on the small side, but like Angle isn't small enough to look dwarfed by a Rock/HHH, although maybe a tad by an Undertaker. Plus, he's WWE crafted for a long long time. So don't be shocked if he becomes a star within the next couple years.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2002 People said that Jeff was a possibility to be the next Shawn Michaels? More like now, Matt Hardy is the Bret Hart of the team. Jeff not surviving well without Matt...just like Neidhart without Hart.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted October 11, 2002 People said that Jeff was a possibility to be the next Shawn Michaels? More like now, Matt Hardy is the Bret Hart of the team. Jeff not surviving well without Matt...just like Neidhart without Hart. To say the least...Jeff blows spots, probably is on drugs, and he never really had much of a passion for wrestling--just was along for the ride with his brother. He was insanely over with the Swanton and the other high-risk stuff, but Matt was always the more solid overall wrestler. I don't hate Jeff, but a deportment down to OVW would do him worlds of good if he's willing to shape up.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Mattitude check.. how do you feel? We feel good, cuz Jeff Hardy sucks, yeah!
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I always liked Matt more than Jeff, and with MATTITUDE~! running wild Matt is quickly becoming one of my favoureite wrestlers in the WWE. And after No Mercy when the Undertaker dissapears for however long we may get to see Matt do something other than be no-sold by Taker.
Guest Drakoan Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Mattitude check!!! I feel good......oh I feel so good..........ohhhhhhhhhhhh *drops a leg drop off the second rope*
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Heh, he has a lot of things going for him right now. He has two credible catchphrases...and his own swank hand signal! Plus, it never hurts to wear The Rock's $500 shirts. You guys notice that he hasn't been yodeling before the leg drop these days? Jeff < Matt (not exactly internet opinion in early 2000, now was it?) Guest Harry Hood Report post Posted October 11, 2002 You know it's funny, and people will probably come out of ht ewoodworksaying this sort of hting ,but i have always been a mark for matt hardy adnd said he'd go over hhuge
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I think most of us thought Matt was the better "Worker" of the two. Jeff is just sloppy and paint by the numbers. I started liking Matt during his 4 month Euro Title Run last year. He didn't defend it every week, but when he did he proved he had what it takes to be a singles wrestler. Matt is really getting over now, so please don't screw this up, Vince, Steph, JR,.... ::Rolls Up Newspaper and swats Triple H & Taker away::
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I'll go on record as saying I *never* liked either Hardy. But, DAMN, Matt's been very entertaining lately. That Desire video ROCKED~!
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I really liked the Hardys when the kinda redebuted with Michael Hayes and had a darker image to them...then the series of matches with Edge and Christian were at least entertaining... But by the time they stuck Lita with them I really didn't care much for them...and a while ago I pretty much hated them. Matt's always been a more polished worker...Jeff's just a spot monkey
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I have been infected with Mattitude. The guy rocks. I just hope WWE doesn't keep feeding him to Taker to No-sell everything the guy throws at him. WWE really has a chance to create another star here and I hope we are all along for the ride. Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I was never big fans of either but realized Matt was the more talented of the two, aside from two or three bumps Jeff is worthless. But that Mattitude Desire video made me a full fledged Mattitude mark. And his promo work is leaps and bounds ahead of what I thought he was capable of. "Taker, I don't want to kill a man." Guest snowfan Report post Posted October 11, 2002 My whole thing on the Hardy's was just resistance against the overexposure. I think Matt has always been the better worker from a mechanical standpoint, and Jeff is like Foley without the intangibles. Matt definitely has undergone a charisma transplant, and a LOT of the wrestlers need to take a look at that. Matt went in an entirely new direction and it has paid dividends. That to me is the mark of a good pro wrestler and all the great ones have been able to pull off massive character change. The guys who can't/won't are the ones who eventually wind up being cancers trying to hold on to the past. I am looking squarely at Crips and UT when I type that last part. Think back to Bret/Austin for a minute. Bret NEVER worried about letting someone "get heat off of him" and it ENHANCED the feud and hurt neither man. Quite the contrary it set up the double turn, which in my opinion is just about the best booked and wrestled match I have seen in a decade from a psychological standpoint. You will never have a "doubleturn" in the current WWE because not only will the stars not be told to, but they can escape it with NO punishment by merely saying, "I ain't feeling it." The fact that UT can say this and get away with it coupled with HGH's games shows the blatant hypocrisy of those who take Vince's side on Montreal because "Bret wasn't doing what he was told" are engaging in if they also give UT and HGH a pass. Bret had Creative Control in his contract and Vince signed it HGH and UT don't but are acting as though they do. UT wasn't even playing games with picking a successor, no he refuses to put over the man who (in theory) is standard bearer for the company. "I ain't feeling it" indeed... Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Jeez...I can't believe how awesome Matt has become. If you told me a few months ago that I would be now worshipping the almighty Mattitude I would have have run away screaming. I loathed Matt, just couldn't stand him. Best character development since Austin's heel turn, I say.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted October 11, 2002 Certainly works on the marks. From a mark friend I'm slowly converting to smark-dom: "God I love the crowd. 'we want jeff'! was the chant for whem Mr. Mattitude popped out. I mean, yeah, I like Matt, but he's slightly annoying like this. GET OVER YOURSELF DUDE" This character could be the best thing since the old heel version of Edge.
Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I think an Edge-Matt feud would be cool, it would be the ultimate role-reversal of times gone past. or maybe Edge could revert back to his old heel ways and tag with Matt. Illogical I know, but its a fun scenario.
Guest AndrewisyourHero Report post Posted October 11, 2002 <---latest casualty to Mattitude
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted October 11, 2002 His cocky gimmick is working well because he keeps taking on challenges that are too big for him, yet fortunately there is always something that makes him win and his abrupt nature in ignoring the other wrestlers help is PURE GOLD. Finally I can appreciate a Hardy~!
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted October 11, 2002 i think Matt should wrestle Taker at Survivor Series and defeat him clean...... well i can dream right?
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I have Mattitude...especially after that Desire Video. That was soooo funny...
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted October 11, 2002 I can't believe with all of the crap that was on SD they did not put up the Mattitude Desire video in the videos section of their website. Lord knows we need more clips of Torrie Wilson's dad getting a hard-on instead of seeing the beginnings of a great heel.
Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted October 12, 2002 Matt has sky-rocketed in recent weeks into my top 5 WWE wrestlers list. I have always liked him as a wrestler even though maybe he should revamp his offense a little and add a few new moves but his new character is great. But shouldn't he be Matt Hardy version 2.0 instead of 1.0? One of the problem I see is that without secondary titles how are mid-carders going to climb up the ranks? It used to be that a wrestler would win the IC title on his way to the World's title which is impossible now.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted October 12, 2002 But shouldn't he be Matt Hardy version 2.0 instead of 1.0? No because he is the first Matt Hardy... his son will be Matt Hardy v.2.
