RAW is WAR

Recommended Posts

Guest goodhelmet

To celebrate my 1000 posts and RAW status, I want to know what you guys think should happen on RAW on Monday. Alot of the roster is in Japan so they are limited in what they can do.

If Regal is in the U.S. should they get the belt off him so we may get a good IC match at Mania?

Jericho is in Japan so how do they approach the world title?

Since they are running low on talent, do you think they'll give us a bunch of 15 minute interview and recap segments?

How can the NWO as the focus be worth our time to watch?

Will it just be another shitty card that we have been accustomed to as of late?

and finally...

Should they utilize the cruisers????

I think they should tell the fans the truth. Tell them a lot of the talent is in Japan on tour. The nWo should rasie hell on Raw & Smackdown. Beat up wrestlers. Hell, beat up JR & Lawler. Most of the good crusierweights are going to be on tour. Flair is supposed to be in Japan as well.

I'm sure that the show will focus on NWO vs. Austin...HHH/Stephanie and Flair/Taker.

No matter how many things change...they always stay the same.

Only this time we don't get to see Jericho and break up the monotony of the show.

Damn.

If Flair is gone...then we'll see Taker do something to attack David...Damn.

I think a bunch of 15 minute interviews and recapping is the wrong way to go at this. Although quite a bit of the roster will be in Japan, they need to go into some type of hyperdrive in pushing WM because as it stands now, it sucks. The nWo needs to run roughshod over everyone like yesterday or something. These guys could've had an impact and for their first 2 appearances they have. Now they seem to be a little whimpering. They need to do some of the non-conformist shit that got them over in 96. They need to take over the broadcast booth. They need to jump people during backstage skits. They need to do a run in right at a moment of a match where a babyface is about to put away the match. They should interupt any and every fucking thing because that's what they were brought in to do. Just think for a second if you were the character of Vince McMahon. Would you be satisfied with the job these 3 men have done in "injecting poison" in the wwf? Didn't think so. More work needs to be done on both the workers and the writers parts or WM is going to bust big time.

That's what I think they should do. Have the nWo beat the shit out of everything. Having them take over Raw. Hell, have Hall & Nash do play-by-play the whole second hour. With the small amount of talent that will be there. Now's the time to have the nWo destroy everything.

does anyone know who will be in Japan?

I don't remember anyone except Tajiri, Jericho, and Dudleys

You would think that since alot of talent isn't there they could allow for some 5-10 minute wrestling matches. I just have this grim feeling it will be run-ins and bad skits wasting our time. Really though, the skits have been HORRIBLE lately. Really pathetic.

Lets see how many I remember...

Tajiri

Jericho

The Rock

Big Show

The Hurricane

Flair

Damn, that's all I can remember.

"This looks like a RAW to avoid. "

lol

it's funny how the show is four days away and we are already dreading it. I think that the shows won't get better until the ratings completely go into the tank. Then Vince will have to come to the realization that his kids have no business helping him run the damn show. Complete revitalization is needed.

Remeber when Bret Hart left the WWF, the show was just different from that point on.

When HHH-Steph ran RAW as the McMahon-Helmsley Show, the WWF was different. Time has run its course and it needs an update.

Yep, now is the time the poison needs to be injected with some strong dosage. I still don't understand where this split is suppose to happen. Something of that magnitude has to happen because they got two live shows on Monday after Mania with top stars being promoted at the show. Maybe next week is when we see nWo wcw style where they go roughshod taking over everything. They should be honest about the Japan tour and state Flair is over there doing business. So Vince makes the matches and gives power to Hogan/Hall/Nash to take out announcers and the backstage. Just make it the nWo show to show them taking over or something. Please let Regal lose the damn title to make fans happy for something on the show. Regal/RVD is guaranteed sucktitude (I miss those E and C isms)

Yeah, it would be a good idea to get the belt off of Regal. Then do you do a rematch at WM or stick RVD in the Edge/Booker T feud and make it a Triple Threat match?

I want Regal to lose the titles before Mania too. I just feel there is a better matchup for Rob. Hell, let RVD win the bwlt before Mania and go in as the champ. Wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit.

NO.

Because then Edge would be booked to win in his hometown...

And if RVD wins the belt before Mania...it spoils one of the highlights of the show...(RVD winning his first MEANINGFUL belt...)

Damn, if Jericho isn't going to be there, then I really have no reason to watch on Monday. I'll probably just tape it and go out to see a movie with some friends.

Edge doesn't have to be his opponent. A storm-RVD feud seed was planted. Edge could go on to face Booker T like I'm hoping.

BPS, you have a point about counting chickens before they hatch, but let's be real here. Regal has YET to put on a match at least to make people say "he had a good or great match tonight". I don't think he will all of a sudden find that in the next two weeks. I say put RVD vs. Mr. Perfect. You said yourself the heat at the house show was hot. Cut something similar(not the same because it makes people not go to the house show if it comes on tv anyways).

Believe me Perfect will get heat here in Toronto. You should hear how much marks call in about Perfect down here on sports radio. If RVD had a good match with GoldDust imagine what he would do with Perfect. It can be RVD's first time defending the title and mark the first defense in a long reign. They can still make it important and special. I mean it's a forgone conclusion he will lose(he lost to Big Show 2 weeks before Mania and he isn't even a contender for crying out loud) unless the wwf makes him win which if he does he should hold the title for a long time like HTM. I would even be marking by booing and wishing this guy would drop the belt, but I think business wise RVD makes better sense right now.

Booker T/Edge seems like a solid match to me and gives a great entrance for Benoit to return for commentating. I even think a Christian/DDP match might be in the works would be okay also.

If we could get the following matches to go at least 15 minutes apeice I will retract my statement that this sould be the worst Mania ever:

RVD-Storm

Edge-Booker T

Christian-DDp

any cruiser combination

Hopefully, on this RAW, seeds can be planted for the matches.

I agree completely about Regal...but you never know.

I'm almost looking forward to it...because if the unimaginable happens...and the match is good...

Well...it should do a lot to silence all the RVD haters...for a while.

I have complete faith that rvd can work a good match but regal hasn't shown shit. i think the best we can hope for, as i have previously mentioned, is that the match will be stiffer than hell. (is hell stiff?)

Regal could probably be a good manager. His wrestling style clashes with EVERYBODY. A RVD/Perfect feud for WM would be good.

"His wrestling style clashes with EVERYBODY"

..except Benoit and Fit Finley.

"A RVD/Perfect feud for WM would be good."

It looks good theoretically but Perfect looked done the other night. He could definitely sell some of Regal's stiff shots.

Yeah, except for those two. Although Finley is retired and Benoit is recovering. Perfect didn't look good on Raw, but I think he would do well with a feud with RVD.

The show begins with No Chance In Hell and Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring.  Vince says that tonight is a very special night and announces the WWFE has embarked on a successful tour of the Orient.  Vince names the superstars scheduled to appear.  DDP, Test, Kane, The Big Show, The Hardys and Lita, The Dudley Boyz and Stacy Keibler, Tajri and Torrie Wilson, Hurricane and Mighty Molly and the undisputed champion of the world Chris Jericho.  Vince says that his only regret is not being there himself but he's proud to announce that WWFE ownership is being represented by his partner Ric Flair!!!  Vince says that with Ric not being in the States, Vince is going to implement the first step in destroying the WWF as we know it.

Voodoo Child hits the sound system and here comes who Vince introduces as the man who made sports entertainment what it is today, who single handidly built Wrestlemania into a world wide phenomenon and will be the man who will cripple the People's Champion at Wrestlemania and reclaim the rights to the greatest event ever...  Hogan cuts a promo saying how he's said a lot of negative things about Vince McMahon in the past and he's here to tell Vince publicly that there would be no Hulk Hogan without Mr. Vince McMahon.  Hogan recalls their triumphs of the past and the fun they had along the way.  He holds back tears as Vince interrupts and tells him that it's okay and the two embrace.

Stone Cold's music hits and he stands atop the rampway.  What?  What?  What?  What?  Stone Cold says that on behalf of the entire world he's here to beg the two of them to shut up with their phony horseshit.  Austin challenges Hogan to a match on Raw.  Hogan is ready to accept but Vince stops him and tells Austin "No Chance In Hell."

Ross and Lawler speculate that Vince is protecting Hogan perhaps thinking that Austin will show him up as being past his prime on national television.

Backstage Mr. Perfect interupts RVD stretching and tells him that he's watched RVD's career and he's been impressed... he's been very impressed...  but while RVD is impressive he's far from Perfect and that stretch isn't perfect either...  RVD asks Perfect to demonstrate a Perfect Stretch and Curt accepts the challenge... he positions himself to commence stretching but the sucker punches RVD and leaves the room...

William Regal vs. Lance Storm for the Intercontinental Title.  Regal has asked for this match because he considered Storm to be the worthy contender to his title, not RVD.  Storm upsets Regal to win the Intercontinental Title...

Tazz vs. Booker T ends in a no contest when Kevin Nash and Scott Hall appear in the crowd, take ringside seats with their own signs.  Tazz Fears Winning A Match, Tazz Is Rene Goulet, GI BRO and Jobarooni...  Both Tazz and Booker T go to ringside and attack Hall and Nash.  A pull apart brawl ensues.

Hogan is shown backstaging asking Vince why he won't let him fight Austin tonight and Vince tells Hogan that he wants him to save his energy for destroying The Rock at Wrestlemania...

Goldust vs. Maven Hardcore Title rematch ends with Goldust winning when Nidia sneaks up on Maven and bashes him in the skull with a shovel.  Goldust and Nidia leave the arena together...

NWO music hits and Nash and Hall enter the arena this time from the dressing room.  Nash takes the microphone and announces that he has a bad reputation in this business, a reputation that is uncalled for and inexcusable.  And if there is one thing that he has learned from Vince McMahon it's that you have to listen to what the people want and he always did that whenever he's been in a position of power in this business.  Tonight will be no exception.  Nash gets on the internet.  He sees what the people want.  Bring back the CRUISERWEIGHTS he cries.  Hall cheers him on and Nash introduces Shannon Moore and Chavo Guerrerro Jr.  Nash and Hall then join Ross and Lawler on commentary.

Chavo and Shannon put on an awesome cruiserweight match but it ends with the returning Sean Waltman entering the ring and taking both men out with nunchucks.  Hall and Nash then finish them off with the Razor's Edge and the Diesel Bomb.

Raven and Stevie Richards are shown taking the ringside seats left behind earlier by Hall and Nash...

Vince McMahon is shown backstage greeting David Flair and welcoming him to what could be some regular appearances in the WWF.  Vince invites David into his office.

RVD vs. Mr. Perfect.  Hall and Nash stay on commentary and comment that Mr. Perfect's previous connection with the NWO is something that the WWF should pay close attention to.  Nash and Hall assist Perfect who scores an upset over RVD.  Hall and Nash then go to the ring with an NWO shirt and approach Perfect.  Perfect gleefully takes a shirt and is kicked by Hall and powerbombed by Nash.

Raven and Stevie Richards are again shown at ringside.

Pat Patterson brings Hulk Hogan a note.  Before Hogan reads the note, Hogan mentions Patterson mocking him while he was in WCW.  Patterson fumbles around a few words and then tells Hogan it's because he loves him.  Hogan screams for Patterson to get the hell out of his face before he bashes his teeth in.  Patterson smiles and walks out of the room.

Hogan reads the note out loud.  It's from Stone Cold who tells him to screw Vince and meet Austin in the parking lot later tonight.  What?

Chris Benoit is introduced.  Benoit walks down to the ring and takes the microphone.  Kurt Angle's music hits.  Angle mocks Benoit asking him what he had ever accomplished.  He had the WCW Title for WHAT?  9 hours?  Angle continues to taunt Benoit and gets chin to chin to him.  Benoit takes him down with one solid punch.

Nash, Hall and Waltman are shown leaving with The Godfather and his ladies.

David Flair is about to sign his WWF contract.  Hogan is shown walking towards the building's exit and walks into The Undertaker.  The two have a staredown and shake hands.  Back to the David Flair contract signing.  Undertaker kicks the door in.  Vince lets out a sinister grin and Undertaker pummels David Flair smearing his bloody face onto the contract as Vince lets out a maniacal laugh and cheers on the Undertaker.

Hogan is shown walking out to the parking lot and runs into Booker T and Tazz.  He then meets up with RVD and Mr. Perfect, Chavo and Shannon Moore before seeing Stone Cold standing before him.  Stone Cold lets out a WHAT? and the gang of men attack Hogan as Austin just stands in his face going WHAT?  Hogan is shoved into a porta john which is hitched onto the back of Stone Cold's truck.  Austin drives off as the show ends.

decent but I think benoit is in japan also.

also, love the storm-regal idea. get the belt off that mofo.

richards-raven would be doing what the WWF is accustomed doing right now...rehashing old angles.

I think it's better than anything the writing staff has come up with though.

Although it would be poop to see Storm hold it for only 2 weeks...or have RVD job at Mania...

poop.

But think about the elaborate ring entrance that Lance Storm could have as the Intercontinental Champion in Canada at Wrestlemania?
