Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 11, 2002 Report Posted October 11, 2002 It's my favorite Ice Cream flavor and it's not around anywhere. Would it kill an ice cream company to make regular Bananna ice cream without adding nuts, and chocolate to it.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 12, 2002 Report Posted October 12, 2002 Never heard, or saw, bananna ice cream. Sorry...
Guest areacode212 Posted October 12, 2002 Report Posted October 12, 2002 Ben & Jerry's makes Chunky Monkey ice cream, which is banana ice cream with chocolate chunks & walnuts, but I don't know of just plain banana ice cream. Sorry man.
Guest MrRant Posted October 12, 2002 Report Posted October 12, 2002 Safeway carries just a banana ice cream that is their own brand.
Guest MrRant Posted October 12, 2002 Report Posted October 12, 2002 Its a chain.... I don't know how far it goes though. I know its in WA state you would have to check their website or something.
Guest areacode212 Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 If you're adventurous and own an ice cream maker, there are lots of recipes for banana ice cream on the web.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 I was gonna suggest getting an Ice cream machine and making your own, with really fresh bananas.. My favorite to make is a citrus lemon/lime/orange (blood red work awesome for a different color) ice cream. Really good stuff.
Guest Smark Hammill Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I'm a huge fan of fruit flavored ice cream myself, but before I digress..... Marble Slab used to have what was called Banana Rum, and it was excellent. Last time I was there, however, they didn't have it.
Guest Brian Posted October 17, 2002 Report Posted October 17, 2002 I suggest finding your local international (Asian) market and searching there. It's where I find all the weird flavors I love like Durian.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted October 17, 2002 Report Posted October 17, 2002 Blue Bell makes a banana walnut and a banana pudding flavor ice cream. I saw them in the convenience store today.
Guest danielisthor Posted October 17, 2002 Report Posted October 17, 2002 If in or around New Jersey, Walsh Farms makes a killer banana ice cream, no chocolate, fudge or nuts, pure banana delight. mmmmmm
Guest CED Ordonez Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 How much for a decent ice cream maker? This thread is making me think of the possibilities.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 22, 2002 Report Posted October 22, 2002 Every place has Banana up here. It's almost as common as Chocolate.
Guest Flyboy Posted October 22, 2002 Report Posted October 22, 2002 Every place has Banana up here. It's almost as common as Chocolate. ... Silly Canadians. Bananna ice cream? What a concept.
Guest Brian Posted October 22, 2002 Report Posted October 22, 2002 A decent Ice Cream maker I think will run you between $30-50. A good quality gelato machine, which is my choice, will run anywhere from $100-200. Do what I do. Wait until a restaurant is going out of business and buy up their old stuff; or find a wholesale shop.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Thanks for all the suggestions. I forgot about this thread.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Bananas + Vanilla Ice Cream + Blender
Guest converge241 Posted November 8, 2002 Report Posted November 8, 2002 Theres a local dairy/ice cream stand Peaceful Meadows, that makes the best banana ice cream ever tastes so good in a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Sundae I think Breyers sells it in the cartons as well
Guest EricMM Posted November 10, 2002 Report Posted November 10, 2002 Dude, just go to Baskin Robbins and get them to give you a pint or quart or half gallon of their banana icecream. Christ I served enough of them, I should know they serve it !
Guest EMAXSAUN Posted November 10, 2002 Report Posted November 10, 2002 yeah, you can get all kinds of weird crap at asian supermarkets. i went to one in nyc and i bought cotton candy that turns into bubble gum once you chew it, jello shooters, and my favorite, bananna flavored corn puffs
Guest dreamer420 Posted November 11, 2002 Report Posted November 11, 2002 Remember, if you have a weird craving for something you just can't find, try Canada because odds are we have thought of it and are selling it up here.
Guest areacode212 Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 Haagen-Dazs has a new Bananas Foster flavor. It's pretty much all banana, only it has some brown sugar & rum flavoring mixed in: http://www.haagen-dazs.com/segpro.do?productId=178
Guest Vern Gagne Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 Thanks for the suggestions. Who knows maybe if I had access to Bannana ice cream all the time I'd get tired of it.
