Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted October 12, 2002 This is my first review,so cut me some slack. The Transporter Starring - Jason Statham , Shu Qi , Matt Schulze Directed By - Cory Yuen Rated - PG13 for Action Violence 92 Minutes Jason Statham proved that he is the next big Action Hero with his performance in " The Transporter" In what I thought was one of the best Action Films of the year, Jason Statham(Snatch, John Carpenter's Ghosts Of Mars) plays Frank Martin , A loner who hires himself out to "Transport" Packages with no questions asked. Frank Martin lives by three rules. A deal is a deal , no names , never open the package. Unfortunetly Frank makes a mistake and breaks one of his own rules, he is then forced to suffer the consequences. The Movie also stars Shu Qi as one of the "Packages" that Frank is hired to "Transport". Little does Frank know is that this package is going to change his life forever. The fight scenes, choreographed by Director, Corey Yuen are excellent. There is one scene involving Frank and a couple of Goons in which he disarms them using only a Sweater. "The Transporter" is non stop, action packed Movie well worth the price of admission. I hope there is a sequel. Final Rating: 3 Stars***:You Get Your Money's Worth. Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 12, 2002 nice review but you must consider that the Yuen clan will always make great action movies. The movie looks like a cookie cutter Hong Kong action movie meaning that a HK director can make anybody into an action movie hero.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted October 12, 2002 I think he is REALLY talented. Keep your eye on him.... The Transporter should do well anyway.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 12, 2002 I liked him in Snatch. I personally enjoyed Ghosts of Mars, but he didn't get a very good role in it. Transporter looks like a fun movie. As long as the action scenes deliver the movie will be exactly what it's suppose to be.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted October 12, 2002 You want action? The Movie has plenty of it.
Guest Anorak Report post Posted October 12, 2002 Isn't he Kelly Brook's other half? The lucky git.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted October 12, 2002 Now that I think of it, Statham sort of resembles Bruce Willis.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted October 12, 2002 This flick feels like a low-budget James Bond rip-off...
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted October 12, 2002 Well, I did see the movie yesterday, and I might as well point out a few things... Positives: Stratham plays the badass very well. Stratham kills a bunch of people. The soundtrack (if it is released) will be f'n awesome. There are some fairly awesome car chases. Some geniunely funny sequences. Negatives: There's some crapy dialogue in the movie. Besides Stratham, most people will not recognize another actor in the film, which really doesn't matter, but it does look to have a small budget because of that. The movie should have centered more on Stratham's character. The cool as shit techno soundtrack all of a sudden shifts over to mellow mix of Cool Jazz, which killed the buzz in some spots. Overall, the movie is pretty badass.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted October 13, 2002 You said it was good, but you didn't really go into detail about WHY it was good and WHAT made it good (I understand you don't want to give away the juicy details - but you have to sacrifice something for my interest). _____ is a badass can only go so far. It was less a review, and more of a generic pimping.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted October 13, 2002 I said it was my first review. Cut me some slack. I'm not to good with them.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted October 13, 2002 Transporter looks ok but it isn't something I am gonna go to the theater to see.....might be worth renting some day or watching on TV though. It mostly just looks like a B grade actioner in the previews. I think the same director did the Professional right? Luc Besson.

Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted October 15, 2002 Eh. It has some good action, but nothing inventive. The storyline, characters and logic were paper thin at best. The music was horrible as well. What's with this trend in making movies that have big action, but sacrifice story and logic (Ballistic, xXx).
Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 15, 2002 The movie should of been called Frank, The Transporter Lethal Weapon 4 plot with Ronnin race scene Luc Besson & Cory Yuen project which means if your a fan of Leon The Pro or Jet li movies you will like this movie. Alot of HK style action: Gun Play Jon Woo style and alot of Kung Fu fighting, the bus station scene is awesome. Jason Statham basically did what the Hoss Vin Diesel did in XXX but with better acting skills and a better accent
