A couple of notes from this weeks Wrestling Observer.

 

Meltzer has a great cover story on the brand extension and how regardless of what anyone wants to believe, it has been a huge business failure. House show attendance is down over 50% since March and everyone already knows the ratings story. He also mentioned for all the bs about providing more oppurtunities for new stars, the WWE has LESS main even talent now than they did back before the split. He mention guys like Angle, Jericho, RVD and Benoit as guys who had to be built up as legit main event stars to make the split work and of course that has not happened.

 

The finish of the Taker/Lesnar HITC match at No Mercy has apparently already been decided and agreed upon.

 

The two major ideas for Mania are Lesnar v. Angle or Lesnar v. Triple H.

 

He also hints at some long term storyline on Smackdown for Angle, Benoit and Lesnar that has not been approved yet. But seems to indicate they would be pushed as the top stars on Smackdown. The plan for now is for Angle and Benoit to team for a while until they go back into a singles program.

 

The rumor going around the net about Test being on his way out seems to be a little blown out of porportion. He is in the doghouse for refusing to wear tights or cut his hair. And there is the belief that he's not dedicated enough and that he beliefs his future lies in acting.

 

As for the rest of the UnAmericans, Christian has some heat, but nothing like Test. Storm has no heat with management. And Regal is liked by management because he's Triple H's buddy and is considered to have a great wrestling mind.

Throw the UT in there, make a triple threat match, setting up the worst WM ever. Blowing a buyrate might not raise Vince's attention, but blowing a buyrate for WM I think will grab his attention.

 

Also you can then have UT run over the cat, Brock clean up the mess, and send it to HHH creating a major angle when HHH says that UT and Brock are cat murderers.

I think Lesnar should lose the title at Survivor Series to Angle, return all his jobs leading up to Mania, and at Mania, compete in a match he is more qualified for (Hardcore battle royal or something)

don't be hating on the sleeper, mang. a well-placed sleeper hold (trips/rock iron man, flair/steamboat 2/3 falls, various '4 corners of heaven' tag matches) can make a match better. and the psychology of the sleeper is a lot more sound than the finishers lots of people have.

I want to see the WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. THE GAME HHH at Wrestlemania XIX. This match is fixin to be 5 stars because you've got two of the biggest hosses in all of World Wrestling Entertainment Bah Gawd, and you'll probably hear good 'ol JR doin commentary like only he can. Oh my god bah god the game, the game, the gay-me, its gonna be a sleeper bah god...feel the electricity...ohmygodbahgod, I can smile, my bells pallsy bah god is god I mean gone. Nothing makes me smile than seeing the Game do da sleeper...it takes so much athleticism ya know...feel the excitment folks...bah god...I think we've got a new WWE champion.........

 

In actuality, HHH will refuse to make Brock look good; he'll be uncooperative, and won't sell for any of Brock's offense. Obviously, Brock will be peeved as only he can be. When the match calls for a powerbomb spot, HHH will act as dead weight. Brock, extremely pissed, will drop THE LAME on his neck - ending HHH's career forever. As HHH is staring at the lights, the glass structure above him will abruptly collapse, and fall on his head. Soon thereafter, Vince McMahon saunters out, and tells the world that Wrestlemania must continue - the show must go on. Stepanie - with tears rolling down her cheeks, comes out, and screams, "The show is over...the Game...the man that transcended this business is over...I mean game over... Jericho, with his sledgehammer, runs out and starts bludgeoning Stephanie and Vince. Subsequently, Jericho puts HHH in the walls of Jericho, unfortunately, though, HHH's head pops off. However, because Jericho is the tough sob that he is, he'll continue to put pressure on HHH's quads/back. Jericho takes the mike, and says, "what goes around, comes around, baybee" Wrestlemania is Jericho! JR takes off his headphones, and uses the cord to commit suicide. Lawler, not fazed by what just transpired, bellows, "Tomorrow night folks, we've still got HLA, HLA,HLA,HLA,HLA,HLA,HLA! And JR won't be there to interrupt me!
