Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted October 13, 2002 here is the one thing WCW did good. The Cruiserweights and one thing WWF just so weak on. I don't know if its presentation Movesets or just Booking differences but heres what I see. WCW EVERY cruiserweight Potentially the Next Cruiserweight champion. Every title match made us even think it could go either way. Thats One of those unspoken reasons why the Cruiserweights was hot in WCW. HOWEVER... WWF...I don't know what the hell it is. I know that the light heavyweight title was so disliked Vince just rented it off to Mexcian and Japanese promotions for them to fight for. But even having Great Sasuke who introduced Taka Michinoku who really Introduced Lightweight wrestling to the "New Generation" Fans. Even with a Legend showing the crowd what these guys can do...The WWF bookers just let it go to shit. And In Cruiserweight matches in WWF... You DON't Believe anyone is just elligable to beat Noble for the title. Crash, Chavo, Rey, Tajiri, newcomer Spanky, Guido, Hell Nova.. You don't see the next champion too easily. The Matches aren't as close as they could be. Its just my perception but its just one of those little differences that made WCW only Jewel in its wrestling Sparkel and WWF just CRAP! and people wonder why Jinsei Shinzaki got Bored and lazy in WWF. Even though he had Bret Hart and Sean Waltman.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2002 You forgot something about Jinsei... He was stuck in a tag team with Barry Horowitz. THat should tell you something else that he disliked about his WWF tenure.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 13, 2002 The same reason Jinsei gets bored and lazy in Japan. He's fucker.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 15, 2002 There are two big problems with WWe's cruiserweight division. 1.) WWe doesn't give the division any respect. 2.)WWe forces them to wrestle "WWF style" which is better suited for the heavyweight divisions. WWe needs to put someone like Malenko in charge of the division and give him free reign. He'd still have to get Vince's final approval, but Vince would only worry about the storyline. Then Vince needs to give them at least 10 minutes of tv time each Smackdown and turn Velocity into a show mainly for the cruiser division to build up stories. The wrestling problem would be solved if someone like Malenko was in charge of the matches. Vince being left in charge of oking storylines should keep him happy. Only problem that could arise would be guys like HHH whining that the "midgets" are making him look bad as a wrestler.
Guest CA$H MONEY Report post Posted October 15, 2002 I think Malenko is in charge of the Cruiserweights.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 15, 2002 Is he? I thought he was, but i wasn't sure. Well if he's in charge already, then he just needs to given more power.
Guest Banky Report post Posted October 15, 2002 They need more time and more exposure - that is all. The matches aren't that bad, just too short.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted October 15, 2002 Ugh.... The difference is that one promotion was willing to let them do whatever the hell they wanted and gave them ample time to do so and get the belt over, while the other doesn't ever give them exposure and routinely forgets the division exists after a few weeks of "reviving" it, without fail. Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted October 15, 2002 I think Malenko is in charge of the Cruiserweights. He was, then X-pac (of all people) was, now he is again
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted October 15, 2002 I think the difference is that WCW actually wanted to get the cruisers over as a different style and different twist on prowrestling action. Where as WWE's approach is more like, "oh look at these little guys doing a flip, oh hehehe, I bet Brock could kill all of them at once"
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2002 It's been stated many times by Smarks that McMahon hates to push the following people to main event status (with some exceptions) -Small Guys (Look at the majority of Main Eventers) -Mexicans -Japanese Stars (Yokozuna doesn't count, he was Samoan) -Black People (Booker T is a prime example. Rock is excluded as he's part Samoan) -Guys from WCW/ECW. (Ric Flair was the only exception thus far back in 92)
