Guest goodhelmet Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Who do you guys think was the worst IC champion ever? Was it Test? or Shane Douglas who won and lost it the same night? Was it Regal who has done nothing with it since he has had it? Who has devalued the belt the most in your opinion?
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Test had the IC title? I'll say Shane Douglas with Godfather coming in a close second.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 I also say Albert. Hell, I forgot Test was IC Champ. His run sucked.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 hell, i might as well put HHH on that list. he never held the title until last year and he made Jeff hardy look like a chump. I think his run really made the belt look second-rate. in fact, his run has started the era of crappiness that is the current IC title.
Guest Smark Dudley Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Chyna. End of discussion. Exactly. Although it was equally bad when she "shared" the title w/ Jericho.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 I don't blame Douglas for politics. He was supposed to beat Micheals for the belt...and obviously wouldn't have lost it that same night. Mountie was another screwy one...as they made Bret drop the belt (wasn't his contract up?) Chyna was shitty. As was Godfather...
Guest Tony149 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 HHH held the IC Title in 1998. He was the second man to hold the new IC Title (The current one being used. The Rock was the first to use it) When he got it again in 2001. It looked tiny on him.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Now that HHH is brought up... Jeff Hardy?
Guest Redhawk Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Triple H beat The Rock for the IC title at SummerSlam '98 (ladder match), but never defended it because of a knee injury. In fact, that same injury kept him out of the Survivor Series WWF Title tournament that year. Does anyone know if this injury was real or fake? I had just started watching wrestling seriously at this point, so I assumed it was real. Road Dogg was a bad IC champ. Val Venis and Rikishi didn't really do anything either during their title runs.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Road Dogg? Billy Gunn? Marty Jannetty? anyone else?
Guest The Masked Yodeler Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Albert. He was sooooooooooooo not ready for it.

Yeah, the knee injury in 98 was legit. He tore it during the DX/Nation streetfight on the RAW before SummerSlam 98 and still worked the match. Worst IC champs to me: Chyna, Road Mutt, Billy Gunn, Albert, Godfather, Rikishi, Val Venis(although he was a case of bad booking, he had no character whatsoever), and Goldust.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Fuck, i forgot about Chyna. She had no business in the ring ever. As for Albert, he deserved because he was a hoss dammit and the Taker felt he was ready to be the next big thing!
Guest Tony149 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Jeff Jarrett carried Chyna to two watchable matches. Although she sucked as champ.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Chyna was a big chunk of no talent garbage. Props to JJ...his matches with her were better than her matches with Jericho...that's says something.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 And he jobbed to her even with no contract. Yet he has a bad rap.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 No kidding. Something that is lost in that whole thing is this: People are upset that he wanted to get paid up front for it...but he could have said that he wouldn't job to a woman...and made them change their booking plans.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 I'm glad Jarret got his money. And I'm even gladder Russo helped him out of jobbing to Chyna at Unforgiven.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Hey when he WWF fucks up they usually don't have to eat crow like that. This time they did and for that I'm thankful. I personally don't like JJ but he was an excellent IC champ.
Guest imajackoff? Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 HHH held the IC Title in 1998. He was the second man to hold the new IC Title (The current one being used. The Rock was the first to use it) When he got it again in 2001. It looked tiny on him. Which brings to mind that the current IC strap sucks! The previous belt was a classic and I cant believe it was replaced by such a puny, bland belt.
Guest Army Eye Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Kane was a pretty bad IC champ too. Never for a second did I ever think that Kane gave two shits about the title. But the worst has to be Chyna, and Albert not far behind. Godfather at least had some crowd heat, so he ranks about these two.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Mountie was another screwy one...as they made Bret drop the belt (wasn't his contract up?) I think Bret was very sick and injured at the same time, and The Mountie was just....there. And Test is the worst ever. He sent the IC title into it's present downward spiral.
Guest Anorak Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Chyna, Albert, Road Dogg & Godfather. There seems to be a certain consensus of opinion here.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 I will have to agree with Army Eye and say Kane. Did he do anything with the title? He beat Triple H for it, then, somewhere down the line lost it to Albert. The only thing I can remember about his reign was a match where he and the Undertaker were facing for the Dudleys for the tag belt. Anyway, Albert runs out and gives him the Baldo bomb, D-Von crawls over and pins him. Not one second after the referee counts three, he gets up like he was not feeling the effects of the move at all, and runs after Albert. This ending has confused me to this day. I mean, from the looks of it, he did not feel the effects of the move at all, so why just lay on the mat and get pinned so you can lose the match to chase after Albert who already has like a 10 second headstart? Why just throw a Tag title shot out the window? Yeah. That will show Albert. Just pretend to lay there to throw the match, and lose your chance at the Tag titles so you can get to Albert who is practically out of the building by the time D-Von gets the pin. That will show Albert to never interfere in your matches again! Why not just get up at 2? It looked like he was not even feeling the effects of the maneuver right after the 3 as it was. D-Von was pretty much done at that point in the match anyway, so Kane could have just easily choke slammed him for the cover. Perhaps, even have him get up at 2, then take a count out loss, or have him abandon Taker, and have Taker get pinned with 3D, or something. Anything but that ending. Sorry for the rant. I just really hate that ending.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Godfather. The guy was totally useless.
Guest tombstone Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Who got given a chance..... Albert. Not Test, he was booked to lose, it wasnt his fault, cos the match with Edge at Survivor Series wasnt half bad....... Albert got wins over KANE, a main event person and held the belt for like AGES, thats when the IC title fell cos nobody gave a shit when Storm won, and that bad rub had followed edge, christian & Regal around ever since.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 Hell, the crowd popped when Storm beat Albert for the IC Title. Tells you what the fans thought of Albert as champ.
