Best day EVER

Recommended Posts

Guest HBK16

Ok today I requested the day off from work just to spend a day with the most beautiful girl I know. Ok. She lived about 50 minutes away from me and we have only seen each other 2 before and one of those times she came to my work to see me (good sign). Anyways, I drove over there and got there at around 12. Well I talk to her dad and he thinks I am cool (good sign, parents like me). I am like a best friend to her. I mean we talk every day and she refers to me as a best friend but I wanna hook up with her. I think she wants to try it out but I think she is afraid that if something happens our relationship will be ruined. Anways. after talking with her dad, we are off to the mall. We go and watch Barber Shop which was an ok movie. It had some good parts. Anways, after that we walk around the mall and get some Starbucks and she gives me a massage. We get back to her house around 7 and I stay there and talk to her mom and her little bros (Trying to get in good with the family). I get a big hug and a "lets do this again next weekend". All in all it was one of the best days in a looooooooooong time. I just don't know if I should try to hook up with her. I am a little stuck on that.

This seems to be the theme of the week in this folder.

And I'll give ou the same advice that's been given in general. Give it a shot at some sort, but don't rush into it. Sounds like you've got a good thing going right now and it's a bit early to jeopardize that.

Thats true. We both loves spending time with each other but if we were to have a bad relationship, I would never let it ruin our friendship. She is too great to let that happen. So maybe I will just play it out a few more weeks or months until we are both sure. We both know that we like each other but we are just afraid of what will happen if it were not to work out

I'm sorry, but the judges say we can't accept that.

I did the same thing. Had a chick who was an awesome friend, started to date her, and swore to myself up and down that even if it was a bad relationship, this wasn't going to wreck our friendship, because she was too awesome of a friend for that.

Here we are, 2 years later: I haven't seen her in about 7 months, and only sparing before that. I'm currently banned from her ICQ list, and she won't e-mail me.

Don't think you can stop a bad relationship from ruining a friendship, because if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. You really have no say.

Like JHawk stated, is this a running theme this week? GO FOR IT! She is interested, you are interested, am I missing something. Of course she is afraid, most girls are, seems we watch way too much Dawson's Creek and we think our relationships will end up like Dawson & Joey's. HBK, I'm the same way with my guy, you can ask him...at first I was very afraid of everything I didn't want to ruin what we already had. Once he reassured me everything would be okay and that no matter what happened in the future we still would remain friends I came around and we are still together a year and a half later. We talk everyday and only get closer.

Thats cool. Thats what I want. I want to give it a shot and I am sure she does too. I am totally diferent when I am with her. I mean, I can only spend a certain amount of time talking to someone until I get bored as hell. But not her. I can talk all day and would never be bored. I just wish I get the chance that I want. It's also the long distance thing that is in the way too. I mean its about an hour drive but you have to keep in mind that I am a junior in high school with a job and wrestling practice and competitions. It is harder that you think to be able to see her every Saturday or Sunday.

HBK, I should know about long distance relationships, I've been in 2. One was 5 hours away (I am in Houston, he was in Ft Worth) and as it stands right now I'm still in Houston and he is in CT. We both have busy schedules, I work 40 hour weeks, he goes to school during the weekdays and works on the weekends. We do talk every night. Its tough but we do make it work, so I still say GO FOR IT!

Thanks for all the help. I really do appreciate it. I might as well go for it. I might wait a little to see how everything goes but I am sure that I will in the near future. Thanks for helping.

No problem, this is a piece of cake. I have much bigger things to try and work out when work hits (my boss has more drama then all 10 years of 90210 combined) This was easy! I like these

Seriously go for it. You're on the path to one of two things, relationship or friend zone, and the latter is an evil, evil thing.

Yeah, go for it. If your friendship ends because of the relationship, then you obviously weren't very good friends. I mean, look at Jerry and Elaine in Seinfeld...the dated, they broke up, and they remained great friends! Yipee-Hooray!

Yeah, just do it...

i would embrace the sexual tension. i love that nervous feeling of ambiguity and hoping for the best & fearing the worst. one of the things that makes you truly feel alive.

I'm wondering when I'm going to share the story of the best 24 hour period for me. I was going to do it in the Drunk Stories thread, but that one petered out.

Fo sheez,

Ok I learned that she would go out with me if I was to ever ask her. But I still think she would say that jst because we are friends and she doesnt have the heart to say no. How do I find out if she is really interested without threatening the friendship? Texas Small Arms 09? Anybody? Thanks.

HBK the easiest way I can think of is to ask. She is into you, but I think both of you are hesitant because you are over thinking way too much. You are thinking about her not syaing yes, and she is thinking about what if this doesn't work. The Dawson's Creek issue still comes into play. You can't be afraid to take certain risks. If you do hesitate, your chance will just pass you by. If you really want answers never be afraid to ask, she'll also confide in you more and that builds trust.

I remember being in this same situation. I know its not fun and I know you are on a rollercoaster of emtions trying to figure out the best course. But no matter what I or anyone else says it really doesn't matter. At the end of the day you will be the one that makes the choice, but more than likely you will listen to your heart. But if she does tell you no at first or has doubts, don't pressure her into anything, but reassure her everything will be okay. If she doesn't want to get into it right away don't be afraid to slow down and prove to her it will work. I was the same way, I did turn my current boyfriend away several times before I finally acceptted. He was crushed when I did turn him down, but he didn't stop trying, he slowed down and let time show me that I had nothing to worry about. And now a year and a half later, I couldn't be happier, and I think I can speak for him and neither can he. Just stay with it if you really believe you should be with this girl, in the end you will see you will get what you want.
