Lance Storm: The new Patriot

"Now, I know there are generally two lines of thinking in regard to Lance Storm. One is that he should be partnered up with Justin Credible and reform the Impact Players. The other being Storm should be more agressive(whatever that means...just recall reading that quite a bit).

 

My suggestion would have the WWE purchase the Patriot gimick from Tom Brandi and start running promos claiming "the Patriot is coming".

 

A few weeks later Storm could appear as the Patriot. The exception to the norm would be that THIS Patriot would be disresptful to the US, as he would disgard the flag to the ground as he entered the ring.

 

He would do things like lose a flag match to say William Regal on purpose. The NEW Patriot would sarcastically praise the US in the the same way the Rougeaus used to do when they were the "All American Boys"."

The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers gimmick is way way wayyyyyyyyy too high-concept for WWE today. If Lance Storm came out calling himself an All-American and waving a 4th of July cupcake flag, nobody would get it.

I was 7 at the time, and I understood, though I didn't understand why they started their change of heart. But hearing Monsoon cry foul at those flags made it all worth it. But if the WWE is to bring back old gimmicks, The Berzerker oughta be on top of that list. Simplicity and a catchphrase:

Storm should be the Canadian Patriot. Instead of being a Tom Brandi look a like, go for the Canadian look. And his finisher could still be the Canadian Mapleleaf.
