Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Probably the biggest surprise team in the World Series in a while (SD?).. Their pitching and offense will make them a favorite over the Giants/Cardinals. That being said, I really dont want to see an all California World Series...so GO CARDINALS!
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 God Damn Rally Monkey. Wait till I catch that little Bastard.
Guest Brian Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I do. West coast time zone. Plus, I'm from a Giants family and my best friend's dad knows Brian Sabean.
Guest Y2BigJ Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I just want to see Barry get his ring. No matter what thought this influx of new teams is just the breath of fresh air baseball needs.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I see no season why a playoff team should lose 4 straight in any circumstances. I thought the Angels would win but the series would go 6 or 7. This turned into a dud...blame the bullpen and hitting. Saying the Angels are hitting everything is false, Radke, Milton and Mays shut them down 3 games.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 The starting pitching wasn't the Twinkie's problem. The problem was the bullpen. Oh, and the fact that Jacque Jones disappeared in the series. The Angels were hitting everything. Early on in the games, they were making good contact, unlike Minnesota who was striking out and hitting weak groundouts to the infielders. It's not how much you hit, it's when you hit. Anaheim proved that. Milton may have shut them down, but once that seventh inning hit, it was over. Go Angels!
Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I didn't blame the starting pitching for the loss. I don't buy that the Angels hitting was so good that they couldn't be stopped. In 3 games the Twins starters If the Angels would of knocked around the starters like they did the pen than I would agree they where hitting everything but the Twins starters proved you could contain the Angels.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 I think the thing about Anaheim is that the more they see of your pitching staff, the better they hit it. That's why as the games went on, they started waiting back on pitches. I honestly think Anaheim has a shot at winning the World Series.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 The Angels would probably be considered the favorites. They've got homefield and are playing better than the Giants right know.
