Smackdown tommorrow will have The new Can-Am Connection taking on Los Guerreros Del Rudo. How is it that they both will win and BOTH move on to the next round?

If the title is necessary for great matches to be important then I guess everyone should disregard that dumb ol' Bret Hart - Steve Austin feud.

Yeah, Bret and Steve were booked as midcard blithering idiots in that feud. You can't compare it to Angle/Benoit.

Angle and Benoit haven't been booked as idiots. Over the last month I've seen Benoit brutally dismantle Rey Misterio and the two of them crush Cena and Kidman even though they were feuding. The standoffs between the two have been heated and the feud as a whole has been pushed as the centrepiece of Smackdown. The idea is that Angle and Benoit are obsessed with their rivalry, which means they lose focus on other things. And Bret-Austin had great wrestling, Angle-Benoit has great wrestling. That is what really matters.

Angle smacks himself with a chair, Benoit runs into a closet, the two of them can't beat rey, They can't get their shit together long enough to beat BILLY AND CHUCK, a key point of this feud is how both men have been stink faced, they argue like Bugs and Daffy, and cower in fear of Stephanie.

Billy and Chuck = cohesive tag unit.

Angle and Benoit = warring partners. That formula is as old as Flair's right nipple. As for Rey, Benoit destroyed him the next week. The closet is fine because Benoit was lured in their by the two most EVIL heels around, the deviously devious Guerreros. Who wouldn't have gone into that closet? I don't see them cowering in fear of Stephanie, all I see is that weird sexual tension she seems to have going with Benoit. And once again, I must note that all of this has been in the midst of great wrestling from Angle and Benoit. Great wrestling outweighs political booking 90% of the time for me, and I suspect many others.

Benoit destroyed Rey the next week, and then lost when Angle attacked AFTER Steph said "No more fighting~!" making them look stupid AGAIN.

I'm enjoying this version of the Benoit-Angle feud much more than their previous one. This feud just has a nastier, sharper edge to it. Hopefully, there'll be a great blow-off match. Who cares about how they react to Steph just as long as they don't have to interact with her for more than two minutes?

I do, but most marks don't. If they put Angle or Benoit in a match with Taker right now, no mark on earth would think that either of them could beat Taker cleanly. The Sports Entertainment is really the most important part of the feud (Only because we see 4 Sports Entertainment shows between every PPV).

Raw sucks and I consider it an irrelevance. By the great matches I don't just mean their match at Unforgiven. I'm talking the three-way with Rey, Benoit-Rey, Angle-Edge and The tag match against Kidman-Cena. All great stuff, and all of it has added to the feud. I rarely have motivation to watch Smackdown anymore. I just know it's going to be the same old shit, with Brock and Taker sucking up the main, and Angle, Guerreros, benoit Edge and Rey having great matches in some combination in the midcard, but not being rewarded for it. It's depressing.

Angle - Benoit has had just as much time as Brock - Taker, and a hell of a lot more ring-time. The cage match last year wasn't really a blow-off, the real point of that match was to put Austin over as usual and make Angle an irrelevance, something that Austin seemed to delight in doing at random times over the course of the past year and a half.

Why else watch wrestling but for entertaining matches? Your logic is warped and crazed. And as Brian points out, its also plain wrong. Mysterio's been in the main event for three weeks running now. Tajiri was in the main for Christ's sake. Taker's having surgery soon so he'll be fucking off the screen. The one black mark on Smackdown will be gone. That will herald more great matches! That's a good thing. Really, it is. And Midnight Express, who cares? Heel schmeel, I say. Its all about the wrestling. If they get a crowd interested, no-one cares what cartoon moral denomination any wrestler has.

you have a point, but heels vs heels don't draw. And angles that don't draw are dropped. See: Austin vs Benoit/Jericho. It is a pointless fued giving us good matches. If they said Benoit and Angle were going to have a best of _ series it would be better because it would have POINT. Thats all I am saying.

I just think it's stupid for Eddie to have a match like he did with Edge, and then just go right back into the midcard. I think guys should receive pushes based on how they perform.
