Guest Brian Report post Posted October 14, 2002 And can someone explain to me why when Brock's finally allowed to look credible he's being booked in the role normally assumed by a cowardly heel challenger?
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 14, 2002 And can someone explain to me why when Brock's finally allowed to look credible he's being booked in the role normally assumed by a cowardly heel challenger? Because no one cares about Brock?
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Remember...these are the same people who came up with KANE IS A MURDERER~!!
Guest Midnight Express83 Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Because nobody not name Austin or Kane gets offense in a fued with Taker.
Guest Thunderkid Report post Posted October 14, 2002 RVD got a lot of offense. So does HHH, but that's a given.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 14, 2002 It doesn't matter. He's the champ. And if you want a switch to mean anything, you're going to have to start giving him something.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 14, 2002 It doesn't matter. He's the champ. And he's done a MIGHTY FINE job of selling this PPV. MIGHTY FINE.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Aw c'mon! Â I know you hate Brock but to blame him for the shitty buy-rate etc. is very harsh indeed. Â Put Angle in his place (as Taker's bitch) and he couldn't do much better.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 14, 2002 He's not been used properly. He's been booked exactly as a challenger. Blackmail, exposing a weakness, psychological games. He's been made to look like a weak champ. What affect does that have? It means people expect the face to win, they wait for him to overcome the odds. And obviously they haven't bought into that. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Aw c'mon! I know you hate Brock but to blame him for the shitty buy-rate etc. is very harsh indeed. Why, he's the champion of the company. Apparently, he was a better choice than Angle and Benoit. If he's going to get all the praise that a company champion should, he should get the blame for dragging the company down and the fact that 13 people are going to No mercy. Ater all, he is such a better choice for champion than say, Eddie Guerrero.
Guest Tim Cooke Report post Posted October 14, 2002 It doesn't surprise me that some people around here *think* they understand wrestling but don't. The Angle/Benoit team always gets backfired on because they are two heels who hate each other. They aren't Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson or Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton. Â I *don't* have the confidence that the WEEEEEEEEEE will continue to do this right but last weeks tag match was the BEST story tag match the WEEEE has ever done. Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Brock has been booked terribly has a champion. With Taker treating him like shit and HHH disputing the undisputed title. WWE has only themselves to blame. Brock shouldn't have got the title in the first place, but after the great job he and Rock did, it's all turned to shit. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Put Angle in his place (as Taker's bitch) and he couldn't do much better. He WAS booked like that. But I don't ever recall him headlining shows with arenas that were 1/4 full.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted October 14, 2002 getting back on topic for a second... Â since benoit/angle v. guerreros is billed for next week, the most logical thing for them to do at the ppv would be to have the guerreros advance with edge & rey to the finals, and have the mega-heels explode & make another match for no mercy. it's the only way everybody has something to do. Guest Brian Report post Posted October 14, 2002 But Angle was champion during a time that had both Rock and Austin. Draws. Jeez, even HHH was somewhat of a draw back then.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Angle didn't draw either. Again, because of shitty booking.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 14, 2002 But Angle was champion during a time that had both Rock and Austin. Draws. Jeez, even HHH was somewhat of a draw back then. And I'm trying to say, in this current climate, it's a mistake to give the belt to Brock (Hell, he should NEVER win the belt, but different colored horses and stuff)
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted October 14, 2002 I wouldn't say Brock should NEVER get the belt...he just got it way too soon. I mean, he may be ready by NEXT SummerSlam, but...
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 14, 2002 But he's champion now. It's a sunk cost. You'd paid for it and it's lost. Now you invest and cash in when you're investment pays off, so build up Brock, make him look strong , give the title meaning and job it to whomever at point B. But point A was a month and a half ago. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 14, 2002 I wouldn't say Brock should NEVER get the belt...he just got it way too soon. I mean, he may be ready by NEXT SummerSlam, but... If The Rock, Chris benoit, Eddy Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle, Booker T, Goldust, The Cruiserweight division and Jennifer Love Hewitt all suddenly die in a freak lighting fixture accident, then yes, by all means, give it to Brock. Guest Midnight Express83 Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Brock Lesnar was hotshotted to the title while everyone one else is in limbo, it is the WWE's fault and they sleep in the bed they made. Had they given the title to say Angle, and let him fued with Benoit. Nobody would be bitching. Because its a meaningful fued for a meaning ful title. Having them fued over who gets Steph to bitch at them first isn't meaningful. The matches are good, but all the crap inbetween isn't worth it at times.
