Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Here's the article from ESPN. A fracture to his right thumb near the joint. Happened w/ 3:30 to go in the 4th. Probably out ~1 month, which is killer w/ the upcoming schedule (Bills, @ GB, @ Jets). Ray Lucas will be the starter. He played pretty well in preseason, but we'll see how he does in the real games.
Guest Leena Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 They'll beat the Bills & Jets anyway. Don't worry until mid November when the Dolphins tank every game like every year.
Guest razazteca Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 looks like Dreadlock Williams will be running wild
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 They'll beat the Bills & Jets anyway. Don't worry until mid November when the Dolphins tank every game like every year. They have a stud RB this year (for the 1st time since like Csonka/Kiick). I'd be very surprised (and angry) if they pull the same crap this year.
Guest Leena Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I'd think with Ricky they'd play well, but then he'll break his leg or something, and then loss loss loss
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 You know, you need to stop talking, lest you jinx my team
Guest Leena Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Yes, but I'm a Steelers, Bills, and (former) Jets fan.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Bills? I must hate you, now. :: shoots hate rays -> -> -> ::
Guest imajackoff? Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 I think the Dolphins will be fine with Lucas.
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Ha...Steelers fan. That's great. Ray got most of the preseason and training camp time because Jay's hip was funky-dunky. We should be just fine.
Guest El Satanico Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Ray Lucas will be just fine. I mean it's not like Fiedler is some great QB that would be hard to replace. They probably won't even change the game plan of "run Ricky to set up the passing". Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Fiedler is a bad QB. When he actually has a running game he's a decent QB. I'm just saying that he isn't the type of QB that's hard to replace when injured.
Guest cartman Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 Exactly. Lucas and Fiedler are practically interchangable. It wont make any difference with exception to the fact that Lucas hasnt played in an NFL game in a while...but look what Bulger did with the Rams.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 A dead person could score on the Bills D. I'm sure that Miami will be fine next week.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 "Yes, but I'm a Steelers, Bills, and (former) Jets fan." Steelers... biggest bunch of underachievers since the '90-'94 Bills (this coming from a ex-Pittsburgh native) BTW: When do you think the 'Fins will start tanking? I think the Week 14 Monday Nighter against the Bears would be a good starting point for a late-season meltdown...
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 There will be *no* tanking this year! In Ricky we trust.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 I like Lucas better than Fielder anyways. This is a good thing for the Dolphins.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 The Miami Herald is saying Fiedler will probably be out 6-8 weeks. Lucas *should* do fine, but I'm still a bit worried. Fiedler *is* 26-11 as a starter.
Guest D'Lo White Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 The Dolphins should be alright, a couple of years ago Lucas had to start a few games with the Jets late in the season. I think he went 6-2 and almost snuck the Jets into the playoffs. And he went to that great winning school of Rutgers.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 Hey, I'm a Ricky Williams fan, but the Dolphins choking at the end of the season is tradition. Much like Tampa Bay losing in cold weather and the Steelers losing a home playoff game...
Guest cartman Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 There will be *no* tanking this year! In Ricky we trust. "In Ricky we trust" IS the reason for their eventual fall-flat-on-face episode to end the season. Dolphins = Redsox
Guest Leena Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 Hmmm... 6-9 months now. That could be a problem. Miami is gonna be reliant on Ricky now, and that could lead to problems. It didn't work in NO.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 15, 2002 Report Posted October 15, 2002 Hmm, Spiff's a Miami fan, eh? (has an idea for another PACKER WAGER OF DOOM~!) Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 Hmmm... 6-9 months now. That could be a problem. Miami is gonna be reliant on Ricky now, and that could lead to problems. It didn't work in NO. That's 6-8 *WEEKS*, not 6-9 *MONTHS*. You just gave me a heart attack. Kotz - I hate betting on my teams. Whenever I do, they lost roughly 95% of the time, so I get pretty superstitious about doing it. Plus, we'll be w/out our starting QB. Also, I fear it will be Kylie-related. Should be a good game, though.
Guest El Satanico Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 Well, Miami did beat Denver this week. Denver's defense took Ricky out of most of that game, so Miami can still win without Ricky running teams over. It's not like Miami has a terrible passing game that's not capable of playing well or winning games.
Guest RedGrangeMustLive Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 Nothing to worry about....Dolphins will win without him.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 And just the threat of Ricky in the game will keep the defense honest. They can't ignore him, or they'll get run over, and if they focus on him, it should open up the passing game. ::hums to drown out "Dolphins tanking" talk::
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 Spiff, I feel you should bet anyway, and yes, it IS Kylie-related. If the Pack wins, NO MORE BUTTER FACE!!!!!! If the Dolphins win, I'll refer to Kylie AS Butter Face until their season is over. Sound good? Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Leena Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 Do you wanna bet again, Spoon? I don't even know who the Pack play this week...
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 We've got the Redskins at home this week. Don't even try betting against me, wait for a time when I might actually lose. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 Yeah, even I'm giving the edge to the fucking cheeseheads this week. ANOTHER week with favre....
