Guest Mole Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Who do you think the best big man is right now? Well next to Mike Awesome, I'd have to go with Kane. Out of all of the big men, he could actually get a *** match out of someone.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 1, 2002 I was going to say Mike Awesome...
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 1, 2002 I also was going to say Mike Awesome. Big Show in WCW was able to move well, now he's too big. So I'll say Kane.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Kane can have good matches with smaller men...but when he's in there with a big man...he sucks.
Guest raptor Report post Posted March 1, 2002 I have to agree with Awesome. However, Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow were great in their primes. Test has potential too.
Guest KTA Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Kane. His matches are good-average. Average-borin He's the best there is from up there in the list. No more no less. Undertaker was good during his pre-comic book phase. He kidnapped Steph, stopped looking scary, and now can be quoted as saying stank ass all day. Makes his ring wok less bearable than Kane. Taker can move slow, and look dumb. Kane can move medium fast and do the EXACT same moves. Kane can out wrestle all of them, yet he needs an impressive finisher. He should Tombstone little people and shit. Spit chaw on the camera. And ride big harleys like all the big kids do. Then you'd understand.
Guest ])r. ])eath Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Scott Norton or Vader.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 1, 2002 How big is big? Should we have a minimum size, how 'bout six and a half feet and/or three hundred and fifty pounds? Ironically, that would knock Mike Awesome out of the running, since he's only 6'5" in real life. Of the ones that have been mentioned, as they are now, I'd say Kane. The others are all too old or injured now. However, both Vader and 'Taker were awesome back in their primes.
Guest Nick the Pick Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Kane is the best guy over 6'4'' and 300 lbs in the whiff right now (although someone on the Old Stuff board claimed he's 280). The guy doesn't enough credit for jusy how much he's improved in the last few years. How many guys Kane's size (310-330lbs, in my book) can nail dropkicks, hurracanranas or enzuiguris? Awesome was good and put on some real spectacles but is somewhat overrated IMO. He couldn't work with everyone and was overly stiff. Plus, his tag of 'the big man who can fly' has been nabbed by Sean O' Haire and Brock Lesnar more recently. You guys are going to laugh but I seriously think Albert has potential. No-one AND THE PICK MEANS NO-ONE in the WWF is stronger than this guy; he's pressed Kane easily, slammed the Big Show (refuse to call him 'Slow'; how quick would YOU be if you weighed 430lbs?), and lifted Viscera no problems. He moves fairly well for his size and is improving. All he needs is more experience and mictime. Rikishi's OK but would be better off with a new gimmick and about 30lbs lighter. Let's see some swandive headbutts again!! The other guy who's constantly overlooked and weighs about 300lbs is Bubba Ray Dudley. I've only seen him in one high-profile singles match (in ECW, against Taz) and tag-team competition disguises a wrestler's weaknesses or lack of conditioning. However, Bubba moves incredibly well for a big man, and every move he hits with precision. He has a great superbomb, very rarely misses spots, and has good ring psyche. Even now, Undertaker better than a lot of 'the best big men' in wrestling past eg. Nash, Sid, Kronik.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Yeah, it all matters how big is big. Bubba Ray, Test, Awsome and others are great smaller big men. Albert is definately over looked. The guy can work a GREAT power match(if you can appreciate that kind of thing.) Taker, and Nash could work with great workers(Hbk in particular) So its hard to say....how big are we talking. Guest buffybeast Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Usually a 'big man' in wrestling is defined as being 6'7, 300+ pounds. Sometimes I have noticed that guys who aren't that tall, but large nonetheless are considered big. Mike Awesome is not a big man, in my book. Neither is Bubba Ray Dudley. I would say that Vader is one of the best big men ever.
Guest Nick the Pick Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Wrong. Vader is THE best big man ever. Only Bigelow and the Undertaker at his absolute peak (circa 1990-2) come anywhere near. And Paul Wight before he started up on the pies. By the way, 6'7' is maybe a bit demanding - very few wrestlers are legitimately that tall. In the WWF at the moment, the only guys legitimately that big are Wight (7'0'), Nash (6'10'), Taker (6'8') and Kane (6'7'). Hogan's 6'5', as are Bradshaw, Dustin Runnels and Hall, and Test, Albert and Bull Buchanan are all 6'6'.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted March 1, 2002 I'd say Vader is definitely the best ever, but I think Kane is fairly underrated in terms of consistency and presence. He's really not THAT bad, he was trained by Al mothafucking Snow. Test might turn out ok, He's got plenty of time ahead of him.
Guest thefrenchargel Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Vader is the lord and master of ALL big men. Brutally stiff, and astonishingly agile for his size, There's smaller workers who can't do moonsaults, he's over 400 pounds. I also get a morbid kick out of the Headhunters. They suck, but they're insanely obsese, have the moonsault factor, and they can take german suplexes and stuff. Doesn't mean they're good though, I just get some morbid entertainment from their matches for some reason. As far as big men now..geez. Mike Awesome by default I guess, as his matches with Masato Tanaka rule it. I haven't really been impressed with any of his other stuff though. Honorable mention to Kane, as he can bust out a good match when he's on his game and being carried by a great wrestler like Angle. The Undertaker, Big Show, and Nash are useless lumps in the ring, and I wouldn't call Bubba Ray Dudley a big man, although he's better than Awesome, IMO. He can bump superbly, has a good moveset, and is in one of the last remaining true tag teams. He also sells very well, I don't think he'd make it as a singles wrestler though unless he was COMPLETELY repackaged.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted March 1, 2002 The dudleys are indeed a true team, and for that reason i would avoid splitting them up at ALL costs. Neither could make it in singles IMO. I like Albert as well, or i used to before all this crap he's in now.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Vader was awesome in his day. Kane is probably the best now. I know he's not technically a "big guy" like everyone else we've been talking about. But if everything is tru about the shooting star presses and moonsaults Brock Lesnar will be pretty impressive. Has anyone here actually seen him wrestle? Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Personally, I think Buh-Buh Ray is a hideously overrated pile of shit. All he does is talk while D-Von carries the team wrestling-wise. And, on best big man: Currently in the WWF: Kane or Test depending on height limit. All-time: Vader, of course.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Albert... Even though he is a total queer as the hip hop hippo (surprised they havent called him HHH yet...wait, no i am not), I still remember the man doing a missile dropkeekuh to the big show, plus he has some really cool power moves and could easily be the next vader if they pushed him that way. Guest Report post Posted March 1, 2002 Sid. Whoa, whoa! Don't FLAME me, okay? I was JOKING! Dang, I was gonna say Mike Awesome too..well, at least when he was in ECW and flew with his Mississippi Mudflap flying behind his head. Business up front, party in the back! Yeah! Mullets rule. Thanks to Mike, anyway. Otherwise, Bam Bam Bigelow, and I guess Vader too. Back in the day. Early Nineties only.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 2, 2002 VADER. It's sad that big men ARE SO BAD that Kane and Test are in the running simply because they are younger and don't suck quite as much as older guys.
Guest buffybeast Report post Posted March 2, 2002 I was under the impression that Sexy Albert was a legit 6'8, 350. No matter. He could definitely go places if the WWF didn't see fit to put him in lame ass dancing gimmicks that don't work. Vader is probably my fav big man ever. He was superb, stiff and did stuff that big men didn't do. No only if he bathed regularly.......
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 2, 2002 No arguements with Vader. Kane is ok, nothing special. It's just being around Big Show and UT makes him look better.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted March 2, 2002 I think Kane is probably the best right now but of all time I would agree with everyone and say Vader. He was just a monster back in WCW.
