i have seen exactly, hm...two of those matches, so i can't fairly comment. but there's a steamboat/douglas v. hollywood blondes match i have from around 93 (i think) that is one of the 20 best matches i've ever seen & gets no love from anybody.

I haven't seen Benoit vs. Raven anywhere, huh.

I, too, haven't seen much WCW, so I couldn't make a top 20, or even a top 10.

I'm the only person that cannot list the Benoit/Malenko vs. Raven/Saturn match from Spring Stampede 1999 as one of WCW's best matches, when I think that the Cruiserweight Tag Team finals (Romeo/Skipper vs. Misterio/Kidman) was a better match.

Some notes:

Raven v Benoit (1/98)

- Benoit has had a million better matches in Japan, Mexico, US that are better than this. A brawl with the over rated Raven. They worked a much smarter and greater match with the 4/99 tag at Spring Stampede.

No Savage or DDP Matches

- Savage SUCKED in WCW (and WWF, but that is another matter). Any "good" DDP matches came from Benoit in which Benoit had to dumb it down for DDP. I think DDP is a solid worker and his match with Goldberg at HH 98 is a testament to his work ethic and wanting to bust his ass for good matches. That said, he never had anything that came close to top 20.

Hollywood Blonds v Douglas/Steamboat

- Decent, not top 20. The Starrcade 1992 match with Pillman/Windham v Steamer/Douglas is 10x better but not top 20.

Jericho

- All of Jericho's WCW stuff was predestrian. No singles matches stand out like Windham/Scorpio, Sting/Vader, etc.

Cruiserweight Tag Final

- ***1/2 match.....just a ton of fun and much better than it should have been. And it was the 3rd best match that night which says something.

Not too mention this match happened in 2001. This list is for the 90's.

Savage v DDP was better than it had any right to be and DDP v Raven was mediocre. How does that qualify for top 20?

Benoit v. DDP Superbrawl VIII is one of my favourite matches of all time

It has no place on a list of best of the ninties. It's no where near the levle Benoit was performing with other workers, and it's nothing compared to the many tags of the early ninties. There's just a whole lot of stuff that's better.

well it is my personal opinion that the whole DDP:

vs Savage

vs Raven

vs Beniot

vs the world

is what got him over during the time period so, it does not belong in top 20 of 90s but is important in my eyes.

Excuse me for being a DDP Mark

I would vote 5 or 7 of the 9 Benoit matches vs Booker T but I can't really tell them a part, so none make it.

Wasn't there a Blondes vs. Flair and AA match at a Clash that was supposed to be good?

Guest Midnight Express83

I thought it was Blondes vs Flair/Steamboat.

It was the Blondes v AA/Flair from Flair's return to WCW and it blew hard. Flair looked so freaking old at that point. He should have hung it up at that point.

Scorpio vs. Windham at #3? I've never seen it, but I can't imagine it was *THAT* great???

Guest Tim Cooke

Windham brought LOADS of good to great heavy offense for a US wrestler at the time. He reigned in Scorpio after letting him start hot, then let Scorpio make his comeback with a ton of hot nearfalls. 12:22 of one of the best US singles matches that I have ever seen.

I may rate it a *tad* high but only because the match is the BEST example of a Young v Vet match up that the US has ever seen.

For Young vs Vet, nobody touches the Flair vs Luger series.

As for DDP matches, they are solid, but not top 20 due to the fact that lot of this matches the other wrestler is just brawling or dumbing it down.

"For Young vs Vet, nobody touches the Flair vs Luger series"

Yup, Flair by the numbers vs. Clothesline until I die is really the prototypical Young Spunky Wrestler v Grizzly Old Vet storyline.
