The Long Halloween Comment

Does anyone else think that after 12 issues we deserve a confrontation between Batman and the REAL Holiday? Even if he lets her go because since she killed for Harvey and the murders indirectly turned him into Two-Face she had already been punished. That "it was her all along" shit was pretty weak. Other than that it was good.

I was searching through the archives and found this:

That was a legit complaint about the book, and the reply permagrinning gave it was just asinine.

I haven't read the Long Halloween since it first came out. And yes, I believe this is a legitmate complaint and Permagrinning's reply was completely asinined and uncalled for. If anyone was looking to get flamed, it was him.

I do think having it being Harvey's wife was kind of weak and how they revealed it was even weaker. I don't think Batman needed to confront her so much. Really, what would that solve and how would that go? I think they could have done more with the thread of her killing indirectly leading to the birth of Two Face, but it just lays there as the series ended. It seems like a swerve, just to be a swerve.

I actually just finished reading the Long Halloween for the first time about an hour ago. I was pretty disappointed in the ending, too. I thought I misread it at first, and that she was burning all the evidence that linked Harvey to Holiday. I didn't really want to believe it.

In my limited comic book experience, it's still one of the better stories I've read.

Also, what exactly happened with that explosion early on? Did Harvey get hurt at all?

Guest Smell the ratings!!!

That whole ending thing was pretty much ass.

However the book owns, so it's not a big deal in my opinion.

I think the ending was shocking just for been shocking, like "Aha! we got you!" but still a good series with a cheap ending.

I've read it many times, and to be honest, i DON'T think Gilda is Holiday. I just think the whole experiance has sent her crazy and she has become delusional.

I mean, can anyone really picture her being able to get close enough to the victims and then getting away with it after she has pulled the trigger. I mean, you could at least she Alberto having the means to get to his victims, what info does Gilda have to use effectively?

I feel so stupid right now that I can't remember the name of that other Loeb/Sale Batman maxi-series. Someone refresh my memory and tell me if that one's better than TLH?

The other Batman maxi-series was Dark Victory, which picks up where Long Halloween left off. I haven't read that one.

Dark Victory is good. But if you think Long Halloween have flaws, DV is equal. I think both are good... but I think is better if you got first the other one shots (or the TPB with the one shots).
