If they had just said the car crashed and she drown but the body wasn't found then I think she could be alive. I DO think that either Katie's wrestler brother or her vengeful boyfriend will show up and cost Kane the match however.

I just figure it might give Batista a notable debut angle on Raw, and he should hopefully look strong in it. Doesn't even HAVE to be a relative or boyfriend, could just be a guy who thinks Kane is a sicko and wants to kick his ass.
