I never thought I would cheer an all-California WS, but I am happy for anything that doesn't involve the Yankees & Braves again.

Giants in 5, and Bonds gets MVP.

Any thing is better than having the Yanks in again.

Giants in 6, Jeff Kent MVP.

Angels in five, Rally Monkey MVP.

I detest Bonds, may he have a .050 average in this series.

Watching the last 2 series, it doesn't seem like anyone can beat the Angels. They seem to get lucky, and have a big inning or two every game, where it just seems like they can't be stopped.

I say they win in 6, Francisco Rodriguez wins 2 games, and is the MVP.

I have to go with the Angels here, but I think it'll take all 7. It's hard to pick an MVP going in, but I'll go with either Erstad or Anderson.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I like Barry Bonds, and I'd like to see him get a ring. I just don't think it's going to happen for him this year.

I respect Bonds as Player, as should everyone who is intelligent, however, I in between my thoughts of him as a person but I believe he has the right to treat the media poorly.

As for The All Cali Series...Should be good ratings for FOX and it takes alot of heat of Selig if he had to go to Minnesota. Angels look unbeatable and Even though they are still largely unknown to general public, they are ready to break out.

Barry Bonds is the biggest star in Baseball after Sosa...But Sosa isn't anywhere near that brass ring (nor will he ever be as a Cub)...Bonds is the greatest player of the last 30 years, he deserves a title as a player, not a team mate.

Who has the edge? Giants. 5 players have World Series expirence and the Anaheim squad has Zero. Each team are slugging the bat and are getting any hit possible...

Should be a great series but Anaheim falls short in 6. Snow-MVP.

What World Series? Baseball ended abruptly in early October this year.

They're close enough to it. I seriously have zero interest in this series. There isn't even anyone I particuarly want to root against.

You also have to remember, The Yankees played unusually badly in that series. They were the drizzling shits. As for Minnesota, it was only a matter of time before midnight hit on the Cinderellas. Honestly, I refuse to watch, but if I had to pick, it's the Giants.

You can't honestly believe that. The Yankees played the same terrible defense, had the same old men pitching, and had the same free-swinging mentality that they had during the season. Saying that the Yankees played worse than usual is only true because they didn't hit as many home runs as usual. They didn't have the plate discipline they've had in previous years; that played right into the Angels' hands, who were willing to throw junk outside the strike zone and hope the Yankees chased. They were a bottom-5 team in both range factor and fielding percentage; that's going to kill you against a team that puts the ball into play as much as Anaheim. And they've ot arms with a lot of innings logged in their careers; and that means they tire more quickly, especially against a team that fouls off pitch after pitch like the Angels do. So please stop whining and face the fact that the Yankees weren't the best team in baseball this year. It's not the end of the world; neither were 28 other teams. THE BETTER TEAM WON.

Anyway, Angels in 6 or 7. And I hope they pitch to Bonds all series long. Rob Dibble made a great point about not pitching to Bonds a couple of days ago: when Bonds goes up to the plate, he knows that pitchers are either going to challenge him (meaning: throw a bunch of fastballs and hope he strikes out) or they're going to be cautious with him (meaning: throw three feet outside the strike zone). So, whenever Bonds sees a pitch over the plate, he knows it's something he can handle. And that's why he jacks it 6000 feet away. I think the Agels need to paint the corners with him, throw him some junk, and make him make decisions about whether or not to swing. He might get himself out, hit a grounder or something. Any thoughts?

If someone doesn't have anything to say about the actual World Series, please stay away from this thread.

My pick is the Angels in 6. MVP:Garret Anderson.

Giants in six. Livan Hernandex wins games 2 and 6. He is your MVP, the man does not lose in October.

Angels in 6. You can pick the MVP out of the hat, but it'll be whoever sparks the 7-run inning in game 5 to turn things their way. I'm never seen a team go off like that so consistently in the postseason. At least the Yanks did it in the 9th. You know it's coming, you just don't know when.

You know, I have very little interest in the Series. I'm as big of a Yankee Hater as anyone, but at least they gave me somebody to root against. There's no one I'm really cheering for or against. It's just kinda like "Eh...baseball." Like I'm going to burn the midnight oil to watch Nen vs. Glaus.

(And on a sour note, I stayed up last postseason to see all the miracle Bronx comebacks against the Mariners and D-Backs, and Game 7 is probably the best sporting game I've ever seen, period. I just don't think this year can come close.)

Giants in 6.

The Angels are forced to pitch to Bonds in a key moment and pay for it.....dearly.

Bonds didn't waste much time making an impact now, did he?

Posted

And Tim McCarver didn't waste anytime in pissing me off. Jeebus we're only 1 and 1/2 innings into game one and already I'm rooting for McCarver to have a heart attack and die. Could he be any more biased?

An then I click the off button on my remote, it's over. Someone fucking brush back bonds with the ball good gravy people.

I give up no team I root for wins.

I change my prediction Giants in a Sweep and Bonds with 14 homeruns.

Out of curiosity, has any team who had homefield advantage in a series actually won a series in this playoffs? I am guessing that trend is going to continue, and since Anaheim has that advantage, I will say Giants in 5.
