Guest EricMM Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 I agree that this murder/rape/katie fick angle is bad, but do you think it would have been better if Kane were not the person facing HHH and instead it were, oh I dunno, RVD? I mean think of it. All they had to do was let him keep the title. Then it would make sense to have the two of them wrestling anyways. Further, RVD doesn't have Kane's well documented past to ignore. Wasn't Kane a virgin before Torie? Wasn't Kane locked in a closet, or an insane asylum, or something? Plus, Kane is FAR more shady than RVD is, and fans can almost believe that someone who has been so evil in the past could have killed a girl, raped her dead body, because he's the Big Red Freak. Not so RVD. The fans would not allow HHH to have a case against RVD, because it would seem too ludicrious, and it would seem more like Mindgames than it does now. He'd seem more the heel. Also, the inevitable match up would be UNDENIABLY better, have the more over RVD in the Main Event, and just would work better IMO. Thoughts? It would also allow RVD to develop further as a character.

Plus, he's too risky and needs to work more of the WWF style before working in a main event situation. Plus, Kane is a HOSS!!!

RVD been wrestling for how long now? He been in the WWE for what a Year plus now and he doesn't have the WWE cred now? But hell if it was really About paying dues than RVD would be in the title hunt again.... at least holding the title once.... Instead of someone like say...... BROCK LESNAR.

He doesn't need to say much, it's his gimmick. You know, the laid back, self-confident guy... Besides, the whole "WWF/E style" SUCKS and BLOWS(punch kick city, baby!)! It's sometimes hard to tell the difference between the guys. They do similar moves and pacing, it's strictly formulaic now. If WWE was serious about this brand extension, and individual identity of the shows, then different styles should be happening...

Guest nl5xsk1 Posted October 17, 2002 Report Posted October 17, 2002 There's a part of me that thinks the WWE is waiting on the HHH-RVD rematch, where RVD finally wins the title. To have him win it quick, regardless of how much we smarks want it, isn't as exciting as a long chase of the title. Wrestling's normally more exciting when it's a heel champ getting chased by a face contender. But there's also a part of me that agrees it's HHH in Vince's ear, telling him that RVD as champ will tank the ratings and that it's only HHH keeping them as respectable as they are now.

That's why, since I don't think Kane will win the title at No Mercy, that RVD will beat HHH to win the World Title at the Survivor Series. I also don't think a certain superstar as champ helps ratings that much either, so no matter who the champ is, the ratings will still be the same, until Vince realizes that he needs to change up the product.
