Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Hey there kids- this is Bob Barron spoiling Smackdown for you. I had like awesome seats but here is what happened- They did the Kid Rock Desire Video. They added in Austin doing something and the WWE logo. Bull Buchanan and Redd Dog v. Charlie Haas/Sly?? Really boring match- Haas won with some type of figure 4 manoeuvre. Scott Vick b Textbook Textbook is some local Torontoian. So of course Vick kicked his ass and won with a suplex type move. Val Venis b Shelton Benjamin Val got the ‘I know that guy’ pop. It started out as face v. face but Shelton cheapshotted him. Pretty good match with some mat wrestling early on. Val won with like an arm twister move after missing the Money Shot. VELOCITY- Tajiri beat Funaki Funaki cut a promo pre-match telling Tajiri to smile more. Tajiri won with the Kick of Death. Really good stuff. Albert v. some local dude Albert cut a promo pre-match calling us all fat and ugly and dared anyone to fight him. No one cared. Squash city. Albert Baldo-bombed him post-match. Cole and Lloyd left so I don’t know if this was Velocity- Crash Holly beat Shannon Moore Really boring match- Crash won holding the ropes. Crowd was dead. SMACKDOWN- Damn Testify cut a promo (I think won’t air) dissing Canada. [b/]Rey Mysterio/Edge beat Damn Testify[/b] Rey played face-in-peril for a while. Everyone did their signature spots including Simmons killing Rey with a powerbomb. Edge hit the Edgecution on D-Von for the win. Post-match Los Guerreros laid them out. Funaki interviewed Tajiri about being special guest ref for Noble v. Nidia. Nidia showed up and flirted with Tajiri which brought out Noble. Nidia slapped Noble. Jamie Noble beat Nidia- Tajiri guest ref Nidia was really hot. Basically Noble wouldn’t hit her and Nidia got a lot of rollups and stuff. Noble channelled Summerslam 92 and did the Davey Boy pin for the win. Nidia slapped Tajiri who wanted to kick her ass so Noble kicked HIS ass. Nidia and Noble made up. Undertaker was getting miked up backstage. Taker told his side of the Tracy/Terri whatever her name is story. No one cared. John Cena cut a promo dissing Kidman. John Cena beat Kidman It was Cena so it sucked. I was pissed cause I wanted to boo and jeer Cena but sadly he was a heel so Vince would think he was over. You still can’t powerbomb Kidman. Cena blocked Shooting Star Press and ended up doing the Flair pin for the win. He still isn’t over despite wearing blue and white tights. Brock, Paul and Tracy went to see Stephanie who threw Tracy out. Paul asked Stephanie to bar Taker from wearing his cast on Sunday. Taker yelled at Steph and broke a lamp with his cast. Brock beat Chuck Palumbo Long squash except for two superkicks by Palumbo. F5 won it. Taker ran in aftwerwards and bloodied Brock with the cast. Torrie was backstage and ran into her dad. She warned him of Dawn Marie. Matt Hardy (Version 1)/Dawn Marie beat Rikishi/Torrie Wilson Gender mixing was allowed. Rikishi beat up Dawn and later gave a double stinkface to Matt and Dawn. Torrie small packaged Dawn but in the confusion Matt put Dawn on top for the win. Matt Hardy went to beat up Torrie but she ballshotted him. She went to go stinkface him but Matt screamed in horror so Rikishi did it instead. Matt has a new entrance video highlighting his Version 1ness. Backstage they checked on Brock. Los Guerreros pleaded their innocence to Benoit about last week. Benoit just stared at them. Funny, funny stuff. Paul again asked Steph to ban the cast. Paul yelled at her and was forced to leave. They ran down the No Mercy card. Dawn v. Torrie is on the show. Angle yelled at Benoit and pleaded his innocence. Good stuff. Torrie saw her dad and Dawn in the shower together. Sucks to be her. Benoit/Angle beat Los Guerreros Rey and Edge came out pre-match and beat up both teams. Match was really good but too short. Crowd loved Angle. Ending was: Ref got bumped and Benoit got a chair. He teased laying out Angle but laid out the Guerreros instead. Angle Olympic Slammed Eddy for the win. Tazz came in and asked who we thought would win at No Mercy and asked us which show we liked better. The whole night the fans chanted Tazz killed Katie Vick. Tazz had a funny look on his face when he heard it. MAIN EVENT INTERVIEW Stephanie came out and told Brock and Paul that Taker will get to wear the cast at No Mercy. Brock threatened to kick her ass, Taker made the save but Brock laid him out and him and Heyman kicked his ass and promised hell for Sunday. I don’t know where the cameras cut out but- Taker came back and beat the shit out of Paul, who bladed. Taker posed for a while and chokeslammed Paul again. Paul laid there motionless but woke up and asked for the mic. He kept trying to say something but then finally was able to say: I HATE CANADA! He then kept trying to move and get up but then blurted out: I CAN KICK ALL YOUR ASSES! Funny Funny Stuff. Finally he made it up the ramp and yelled: NEW YORKERS ARE NOT ASSHOLES. Got a big pop from me. Bottom Line- Show was decent- Rey/Edge were great in their match and Los Guerreros v. Benoit/Angle was really good. The Taker-Lesnar stuff was overkill but Paul Heyman was hilarious. Not a must-see Smackdown like a couple weeks ago but try to check out

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Dammit... I wanted Los Guerreros/Rey and Edge at No Mercy... That would rock. I hope they do that at SSeries.
Guest CA$H MONEY Report post Posted October 16, 2002 They ran down the No Mercy card. Dawn v. Torrie is on the show Wow I must say they did a better job building that little mini-feud than they have HHH/Kane. Too bad the match will suck, but nice little build up of two women fighting cause their pissed at each other.
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted October 16, 2002 So, the card for No Mercy is... Brock v. UT HHH v. Kane RVD v. Flair Y2J/Christian v. BookerDust Victoria v. Trish Angle/Benoit v. Rey/Edge Dawn v. Torrie (another women's match?!?) Is that it? What other matches did they add? Jason
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Benoit/Angle v. Rey/Edge should be good. But no match for EDDY!~ Vince-

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 16, 2002 They hinted at Noble v. Tajiri
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted October 16, 2002 They hinted at Noble v. Tajiri Thank God. Please let it be true. Anyway, did they hint at anything for Eddy? Please... Thanks for all the spoiler help and stuff, by the way. Jason
Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted October 16, 2002 This whole Dawn Marie thing is ridiculous. Stick her with Cena. Stick Torrie with Kidman. They both have roles. The two guys have roles. Give them some personalities. And send Torrie's dad back to Idaho. Is there some reason they couldn't have had the tag match be the main event and end the show with a Benoit/Angle v. Edge/Rey staredown? Lots of Taker...lots of Stephanie...lots of Brock. Joy.
Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Noble vs. Tajiri will probably be the Heat match. 2 Women's matches on 1 PPV is a bit too much!! But the WWE doesn't seem to care about PPV's anymore since they just slap together a card 4-5 days before the PPV.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Not really- Eddy and Chavo laid out 619/416 and then tried to plead their case to Benoit. Benoit laid them both out with chairs and they lost. So unless they make it a 3-way or something- it doesnt look like Eddy has a match for NM

And seeing Heyman bleed was funny

Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Bob- Were we at the same show? I mean, I saw Eddy cut the muthafuckin promo of his life and Benoit be the most stoic badass in the fuckin universe. I saw a crowd get extremely hot for Angle, I saw a crowd that was dirty hot for Taker and I saw a crowd that all around kicked ass. There wasn't really a bad match on the card, aside from the opening tag match w/ the OVW jobbers. The mixed tag match was kept going by Matt Hardy (Version 1) and his awesomeness. Lesnar vs Palumbo was much better then it should have been, Palumbo totally lacing Lesnar on that second superkick. The tag match was hot as fuckin hell, I lost my voice from screaming "CHEAT!!!!" at Eddy and Chavo. Must-see, simply for the tag match and the Eddy promo, IMO. Guest CA$H MONEY Report post Posted October 16, 2002 That's what I hate. The crowds seem to like Taker which means we'll see more of him unless he takes time off for his newborn baby.

Palumbo was boring but yes- Angle was MEGA OVER. Eddy's promo was hilarious though. The tag match was awesome though- there were some boring chants in my section which bothered me
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Match times from the Observer: Velocity: 1) Moore/Crash is about 5:30 2) Albert's squash is 4:40ish 3) Tajiri/Funaki is a criminal 3:30 Smackdown: 1) Opening tag tourney match is 4:40ish 2) Noble's match is 2:00 3) Brock v. Chuck is 6:40ish 4) Cena v. Kidman is 6:40ish 5) Mixed tag is 3ish minutes 6) Main event tag Angle/Benoit v. Guerreros is 12ish minutes Jason
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Hmmm- sounds about right. Benoit/Angle v. Los Guerreros went by very quickly but was still so awesome. They could've shaved time off #3 and #4 and made Los Guerreros v. Benoit/Angle totally mega awesome. Tajiri v. Funaki did kick ass though
Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted October 16, 2002 bleh.. thanks for another reason NOT to order NO MERCY Vince, two womans matches...THANKS ASS!
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 16, 2002 I see that you corrected yourself. I dont know why they didnt do Dawn v. Torrie last night- cause they cant do a b-n-p match cause it'll make the other match look bad
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Bob- I loved how the entire show pretty much revolved around the whole "Will Taker get to wear his cast at No Mercy?", because it basically told us that there will be NO good spots or bumping. And always remember, Eddy G is a fuckin Rudo God of Gods.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 16, 2002 That pissed me off- I was like- Can't Stephanie just say yes in a backstage segment?? But Eddy was God as usual
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted October 16, 2002 I enjoyed Lesnar/Palumbo - those two superkicks were stiff and I was marking out for Chucks PUNCHES! And the finish was good too. Eddie's promo is a thing of beauty
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted October 16, 2002 the superkicks did rule but the match was too long for what was a foregone conclusion. I didn't dig the F5 cause he just picked him and did it- at least with Orton it had creativity. And yes- EDDY!~ is god
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Holy shit, Chuck Palumbo and Matt Hardy both wrestled, I was in fuckin stiff punch heaven. Palumbo was being quite the bastard, both with the ~STIFF~ right jabs and his whomp-ass superkick. Rudo- Don't you have the urge to just hit somebody with a chair after seeing Eddy and Chavo?
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 16, 2002 FUCK. MATTITUDE~! is already being held down with not only no match at the show but a damn Rikishi mixed tag match that was there to further the Dawn/Torrie feud. DAMMIT. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Banky Report post Posted October 16, 2002 No match for Eddie? That is sickening. Fuck you WWE, fuck you up your miserable cunty ass. Best worker in the company and this is how they repay him? Bull-fucking-shit.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Actually, I have the urge to distract someone while you hit them with a chair... Odd. I have had this feeling of Rudonosity sweeping over me. Lesnar gave Chuck - a big guy in his own right - a back breaker, held on, and threw him up for the F5. That was impressive. Of course no one expected Chuck to make a match of it - but there was one hot near fall in the match (maybe two). Palumbo and Matt should team up and be the dentists, because lord knows their punches rattle teeth!
