My god, why hast thou forsaken me?!

My old Final Fantasy II cartridge for the SNES finally bit the dust, as it refuses to save games anymore. I can no longer play the greatest game in history on the system of its origin, and I feel as if millions of voices have cried out, and were silenced.

What sin could a man have committed in a single lifetime...

But dude, I've gotten laid before, and nothing bad happened (except for a two-year-long trainwreck of a relationship, but anyway). WHAT HAVE I DONE FOR WHICH I AM BEING PUNISHED?!?!?!

There's a PSX version now. I still keep my cartridge (and have to use every save when I save, as one often gets wiped out every now and then) but it's nice to have more than four saves. Really, trust me.

Just weep when your Chrono Trigger cartridge goes. The PSX version is laggy crap.

As JotW said, you should pick up the PSX version (if you have a PSX, that is). You can always get new memory cards for that..

When did you get your FF2 cart? I bought mine the first week it came out way-back-when.. I wonder if the battery is still holding up... hmmm

Thou has been playing too much Dragon Warrior and the gods of RPG has punished thee for association with the false profits.

What's the big deal? Just download it and play it on your computer. That way, you can have better resolution, better sound and a better save system.

BLASPHEMY!!!!!

Jingus, I feel for you. I actually SOLD IT in 7th Grade for $20, before I knew how awesome it was. I still hold it as the best RPG I've ever played, better than FFIII, which was AWESOME but in my eyes wasn't better than FFII.

Fo sheez,

I have both FFII US version, and FFIV Japanese version. It's the only game I'm truly addicted to, and I'm one of those freaks that can mention every single thing about the game. Anyway, I only play FFIV on an emulator.

Yeah, I could get the PSX version, but it's not the same, the dialogue is all different and other little things were changed. And no, I can't download it, I've yet to find a decent working SNES emulator for my Mac.

The save state batteries in carts of a life of roughly 5 years I once read. It's gotta be than that.

But still it sucks.
