Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Keanu is one of my most hated actors, but I figured bringing up a terrible actor in best/worst movie by certian actor series of topics would be interesting. So what better guinea pig then the actor i loathe the most. Best: He's only had a hand full of movies where he was a decent actor. The River's Edge is probably his "best". Worst: Well there's alot of material to work with here, but his worst would probably have to be Dracula. Sure he's done worse films, but he damn near killed a decent movie all by himself. I personally liked Dracula alot, but Keanu nearly ruined it for me.

Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted October 16, 2002 Best: How can you not like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure? It also perfectly plays into his dopey dip persona. Speed is also a fun little flick and he's not abysmal in it. Point Break is also a guilty pleasure, as he plays former OSU qb turned narco agent Johnny Utah squaring off against surfer dude Patrick Swayze. Worst: Much Ado About Nothing. A friend of mine had a teacher in college for acting who was Reeves' coach for this film. He said that he used to say that anyone can do Shakespeare, but after working with Keanu he sees he was wrong. Other horrible films of his would be The Replacements, Johnny Mneomonic and as good as Excellent Adventure was, that's how bad Bogus Journey was.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Bill and Ted kicks ass, and Keanu always makes me laugh, looking like a clueless idiot in every role he's ever played.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Basically, Keanu can't do drama. I mean, all power to him for trying, but he just sucks at it. In a comedy or action movie, there's usually been something going on that can mask his poor acting ability. In a drama, the only reason you should be watching it is to see some classic Keanu unintentional comedy. Best: Speed, although admittedly Dennis Hopper carried the movie. Worst: Pick any Shakespeare movie that he's done.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted October 17, 2002 I actually like Bogus Journey more than Excellent Adventure. Bill Sadler as Death rocks!
Guest gwf0704 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Best: Speed. Worst: Much Ado About Nothing.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Best...the Bill and Ted movies...the first one's better, but Death does kick ass. Worst...My Own Private Idaho...overrated like a mothafucka I actually seem to like most of his movies
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Best: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.......it's the only part he fit into perfectly Worst: Johnny Neumonic I actually liked Much Ado...mostly because of Kenneth Branaugh (did I spell that right), and Michael Keaton were awesome in it and that was enough for me to overlook him. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 17, 2002 actually "whoooa" is what needs to be said in a keanu thread. Well rather or not you liked the movie, My own Private Idaho is another of the few movies where Keanu is actually a decent actor. Bill and Ted and Point Break are good and all, but it's like saying Madonna was a good actress in Evita. Keanu was being himself in those movies so they shouldn't count.
