Guest godthedog Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Has this thread lost all of its credibility yet? Did it ever have any? as long as orson welles is represented it has a modicum of credibility, despite all the blatant biases. youth: good choices, by the way. Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Has this thread lost all of its credibility yet? Did it ever have any? Only one Billy Wilder movie on the list. One of the best writers/directors of all time only has 1 movie on the list. Please change the title to Favorite SmartMarks movie.
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 20, 2002 I guess I better clear up some problems people had with my system: 1. Psycho-Horror stands for PSYCHOLOGICAL horror, not slasher movies. 2. I bought in to the hype with GONE WITH THE WIND. Man, that's pretty callous considering how great that film is on pretty m uch every level. But what do I care? You put THE GRADUATE as Best Comedy. Thats funnier than the movie itself. 3. I chose to bracket the genres as I wished, feel free do it differently.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted October 20, 2002 if psycho-horror=psychological horror, i'm changing my vote to 'repulsion'. 'gone with the wind' put me to sleep, and i couldn't sit through it after more than an hour. however, that was the only basis i was judging it on & it's not a fair basis, so i'll withdraw my comment. and i know you don't like 'the graduate', but WHY don't you like it? specific reasons, not something circular like "because it sucks and it's crap." Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted October 20, 2002 Pulp Fiction, Dog Day Afternoon, American Beauty. Fight Club and Scarface and a Clockwork Orangeand Taxi Driver and others are damn close, but at this time, I like these three the best.
