I could sit and listen to the Wall all the way through like 3 times and not skip anything if I had the time. With Wish you were Here, I'd probably skip Welcome to the Machine or something. U2's always my personal favorite, though...and I'd actually feel comfortable throwing these three onto a legit "Best" list, not just a personal favorites one. The first two being the two best albums from the most influential band to me, and the third being the best album of the past 20 years or so, IMO. Extrememly inventive, the recording is absolutely perfect, it's obvious a LOT of time and effort went into writing the songs, all of which flow into the next masterfully. Parabol/Parabola, and Disposition/Reflection/Triad are the best parts IMO, but there isn't a spot on the album where I can point and say, "That isn't very good." Some other albums I'd consider for this: Down-Nola, Slayer-Divine Intervention, Pink Floyd-Obscured by Clouds, and The Doors-Self Titled. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'll agree that it's probably their weakest album besides Amnesiac, but half of the songs are fantastic and quite a few of the others are just fine. I can't shoot too much hate towards any album that's got "Lurgee," "Anyone Can Play Guitar," and "Blow Out." All in all, my favorite Radiohead usually comes down to a close one between The Bends and OK Computer, with Kid A occasionally contending if I'm in a particularly mellow mood. I still don't think they're amazing or anything, but they're at least good, IMO. Anyway, while OK Computer has my favourite Radiohead song of all time on it, the album just doesn't have the songwriting that makes The Bends such a watershed for them. In addition, I don't think OK Computer has the flow that is necessary for a great album. Just my thoughts. My picks: Black Sabbath--Paranoid The Cure--Disintegration The Afghan Whigs--1965 I could list several more, but those are the 3 that best represent what I am into. Guest meanmaisch Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Pablo Honey is decent, but it doesn't feel as complete an album as The Bends. I like OK Computer, although it begins to drag at the end. Kid A and Amnesiac could have been combined, using the best thirteen or so tracks from the two albums. 'ok computer' is more cohesive as an album while 'the bends' is basically a collection of songs, but the songwriting from 'the bends' tends to be much better. kinda like comparing 'sgt pepper' and 'revolver'.
