Guest Jobber of the Week Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 With all the talk about new investors for NWA:TNA, there is an interesting turn of events that could happen. If the new investors bought enough of the interest in the company, they might have power to decide who would direct the creative direction of TNA. This could cause the promotion to have to choose between Vince Russo and Jerry Jarrett. Reports are that non-wrestling fans might be swayed by all the press clipping Russo got in 1999 when he jumped from WWE to WCW, including a positive article on Russo from the New York Times. That could lead to Jerry Jarrett being forced out of the creative process entirely, which is wild considering it was his brainchild. Credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Guest Youth N Asia Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 Well, that's a surefire way not to get my $10 a week
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 I propose we, the TNA fans, send a clear message to the shareholders: Russo should be used for backstage vignettes only, as that is where he shines. He should not take over creatively 100%, as then we get things like 2000 WCW which, while it did have its good points, was an utter disgrace to the year.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted October 18, 2002 Report Posted October 18, 2002 Russo should be used for backstage vignettes only, as that is where he shines. "Nice lips." "Thank you." "Not those lips!"
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Fuck. ROH, get on TV, because it doesn't look like NWA-TNA's going to last long now if Russo does in fact get full creative control.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Hey, I liked The Dupps backstage...in the ring they were awful, but backstage = glorious.
Guest Vyce Posted October 20, 2002 Report Posted October 20, 2002 Well, FUCK. You know who I will blame if this happens? Jerry Jarrett. You just HAD to hire Russo, didn't you. Ass.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted October 20, 2002 Report Posted October 20, 2002 He couldn't hire fans of the product, oh no. He had to hire the guy that came up with "MAE YOUNG GIVES BIRTH TO A HAND."
Guest J*ingus Posted October 20, 2002 Report Posted October 20, 2002 He had to hire the guy that came up with "MAE YOUNG GIVES BIRTH TO A HAND." Why does that one always get blamed on Russo? It happened in February of 2000, several months after Vinnie Roo left the company.
