From the Inside for this week

Guest bps "The Truth" 21

Another wild week at the TNA Asylum, as last week did a great job of building some intense feuds. This week's lineup looks very, very strong, with two big rematches, and much more.

Lynn vs. Siaki was build very well, and will be exciting to watch this Wednesday night. Should be interesting to see how Lynn's injury will play into the match.

TNA has signed numerous long-term contracts with many of the talent this week.

Mike Sanders and Joel Gertner were backstage Wednesday night. I caught the vocal stylings of Joel Gertner as he sang karaoke at a club after the show. Wow.

The NWA TNA car will once again race next weekend in Atlanta. The car advertises NWA TNA, as well as our Pay Per View partners.

Shocking to see AJ Styles align himself with Mortimer Plumbtree, who has made it his mission to take over the X-Division. Plumbtree now manages both Styles and Ace Steele.

Look for a revamped NWATNA.com to be launched soon.

Syxx-Pac and the Truth will be wrestling each other on the 3PW show this weekend in Philly.

This week's TNA will start with a five-man X-Division elimination match between the SATs, Kid Kash, Amazing Red and Elix Skipper. The winner will get a shot at the X-Division title.

Anyone still wondering if competition is good for business? Look at the interest the Philadelphia area is generating. The feuds between the promotions seem to be garnering more attention than any feuds they have in the ring.

Two big return matches will take place this week, with AJ Styles vs. Syxx-Pac battling for the X-Division title, and Hennig vs. the Truth for the NWA World Title.

Kevin Nash recently commented about his friend Scott Hall. Scott has been nothing but great business since joining TNA, and has really made great strides personally. Scott will make his TNA return this week against Jeff Jarrett.

My TNA Xplosion co-host Bert Prentice has been working around the clock to get the word out on TNA locally. Bert has been promoting wrestling in Nashville for nearly 20 years.

B.G. James vs. Brian Lawler has been added to this week's show.

Goldylocks will be spending more time in the Nashville area working on TNA promotion. Last week she voluntarily setup a photo session for local indy talent to have great looking free promo shots, as a thank you for the great assistance they have been behind the scenes at TNA.

AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn are two of many athletes who have recently signed new long-term deals with TNA. Styles gets over more with the fans ever week, and has a great career ahead of him. Lynn gets my vote for TNA MVP.

Jorge Estrada's valet Priscilla has been a valet in the mid-south area for a while, and was actually a participant in the lingerie battle royal from our second edition of NWA TNA.

The TNA contingent will be heading into Corpus Christi for the NWA 54th Anniversary Show Friday in time for a meeting with NWA territory promoters before the event. This will be a great opportunity for us to continue to make our NWA affiliation a win-win cross promoting venture.

Had a chance to hear the Truth's new CD while visiting him in Charlotte last weekend. I will be the first to admit I am biased, but I was very impressed. His first single has already gotten airplay on Nashville's urban station, and has started to garner some serious attention from the music industry. His sound is a cross between Ja Rule and Mystikal, but the content is much more reflective on his trials and tribulations through life. Although it has been cleaned up for mainstream radio airplay, don't be surprised to see a parental guidance warning on this one, folks. The Truth is not afraid to call it like he sees it.

Had a chance to catch up with Ricky Steamboat last weekend in Charlotte. Steamboat is heavily involved in the racing industry.

The undefeated NWA World Tag Team champions, Chris Harris and James Storm have proven to be one of the best working tag teams in wrestling today. I think the art being a great "team" has become lost over the years. Cowboy hats off to both of them for their efforts. They will defend this week against the Hot Shots. It should be a very good match, as the two teams have worked each other dozens of times before.

Many questions were raised about the somewhat ominous message that aired at the conclusion of last week's show stating that evil would be returning on 10.30.02, which would be a week from this Wednesday. More on this next week.

Tenay and West pulled off another solid effort this past week. They have developed quite a chemistry in a very short time, which will only improve.

From the "only in Nashville" category. Spotted at ringside this week was Grand Ole Opry legend Jack Greene. From Jack Greene to Chris Rock. Last week, a producer in town told me Billy Bob Thorton has made it a point to catch the past two episodes of TNA Xplosion while in town working on a project in town. Interesting who you see out on the town in Nashville, which definitely makes this town unique. While I wasn't sure how I would take it moving here initially, I must say I absolutely love it. In the last year, I have lived in the Gold Coast of Australia, London, Atlanta, LA, and Nashville, and this is the first town I think I could end up calling home. If you haven't visited lately, I'd suggest making the trip, with a definite stop to the TNA Asylum on your list.

Good to see Norman Smiley back in TNA. Norman is one of wrestling's true good guys.

I must say the story circulating about the Oregon wrestler biting the head off of the rabbit is certainly disturbing. You know the old saying... nothing says screaming for attention like biting off the head of an animal. Here's to karma and a future headline that reads "Shark attacks jackass wrestler off the Oregon coast."

We recently celebrated the second anniversary an incident that will go down as "my most memorable moment" in professional wrestling. We were at Nassau Coliseum for Nitro. We brought in the Howard Stern Whack Pack to judge a bikini contest. I was given the unenviable task of watching over them backstage. Now, I have dealt with my share of strange folks over the years, but this one took the cake. Beetlejuice and Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf were both drunk out of their minds. I gathered the troops and took them to the entrance area, as it was time for their segment. I quickly took a head count and realized there was one missing. I was missing the drunk dwarf. I looked around and found him urinating in the corner of a dark area backstage. Mean Gene was in the ring introducing the Whack Pack. Hank was midstream when I started yelling at him telling him to zip it up and get out there. He was too drunk to run, so I picked him up and carried him at least 100 feet to the curtain and pushed him out to the stage. Mission accomplished. I sat there for a moment, exhausted from the long haul, and then it hit me. I looked at Ed Ferrara and said, "Dear God, I just pushed a drunk midget out onto national television." Only in wrestling, gang. Unfortunately, Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf is no longer with us, but that memory will never die.

That is it for this week... and a big thank you to the many websites who continue publish this column. Your support is very much appreciated.

Jeremy Borash's From the Inside makes JR's Ross Report Ross Report look worse and worse every week. It's actually an informative rundown of the events and happenings of the promotion, instead of a endless dribble of injury reports and unfufilled promises.

Some highlights I found interesting from this week's column:

This week's TNA will start with a five-man X-Division elimination match between the SATs, Kid Kash, Amazing Red and Elix Skipper. The winner will get a shot at the X-Division title.

Has a great deal of potential there to be an awesome match. I look forward to this week's show, based on that opener.

Look for a revamped NWATNA.com to be launched soon.

Good move on TNA's part. A new look to that site is A MUST.

AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn are two of many athletes who have recently signed new long-term deals with TNA. Styles gets over more with the fans ever week, and has a great career ahead of him. Lynn gets my vote for TNA MVP.

Great news to hear there! Styles and Lynn are the cornerstones of TNA and its great to see that they wont be going anywhere for the next little while, or however a "long term" deal lasts.

In my opinion, I feel Storm and Harris are the best tag team on television. The Hot Shots look very impressive, hopefully ending up in a great TNA Tag team title match this week.

Tenay and West pulled off another solid effort this past week. They have developed quite a chemistry in a very short time, which will only improve.

I have no problems with Tenay at all, actually I really enjoy his work. But Don West is still someone I have to get used to in TNA.

Great column this week from Borash, I look forward to TNA this week, as always.

Any ideas

It had the Ministry of Darkness' music playing in the background so it'll be Father James Mitchell possibly bringing in another character or the return of Slash and Cobain. Seeing as how Malice is now signed with WWE, you know that's he's not coming back.

I don't think it's Slash or Kobain because no one would care.

They were just there for the tag gauntlet.

It would be nice if it was Crowbar/DevonStorm/Tempest...complete with a nice little push.

I could dig that.

I could dig that. Devon Storm isn't bad. I'd rather it be Vampiro though, truthfully.

What's the deal with everybody seeming to like Devon Storm? I think he's really boring in the ring, and his bumps are pretty weak. I mean, he takes piledrivers as FULL-ON BACK BUMPS.

Yes, The Disciples of the New Church (NOT the Ministry of Darkness, Dames... :D ) look to be returning a day before Halloween. Although I must say that Devil's Night (the night before Halloween) is a good time to debut an allegedly Satanic force...

Well, Dames, if you didn't strang your tongue on pleasuring women, then you'd know how to say wrestling phrases properly!

B.G. James vs. Brian Lawler has been added to this week's show.

zzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..............

Truth vs Pac would be interesting if only it were on TV. Then again, I risk seeing The Truth job to the Bronco Buster (is anything on the line? In fact, I've missed it recently, so I don't know if the guy is still champ even.)

Messages in this promotion are so conflicting. One minute we hear that they're aiming towards pleasing the net fans and signing people the hardcore community (and I don't mean ECW) would want to see. The next minute, they're blowing money on a NASCAR promotion. Perhaps this is a Jarrett vs Investors issue? If they can't agree on how heavily they should market, or whatever else, we could get a 100% Vince Russo product, and that's NEVER a good thing.

The Scott Hall mark in me (I was a young mark once too, you know!) is happy to keep hearing all these positive remarks.

...And finally, I sentence Dames to watch a Dupp Cup match for making me remember the Ministry of Darkness.

Isn't that just Jorge's luck.

He doesn't get a match the one week I won't refer to him as "blown spot" because he made it through last week.
