Owens fined for shirttail; questions motives

 

"You have a white guy as an announcer and sportscaster," Owens was quoted as saying in the San Francisco Examiner. "Me, I'm black. I do it and I've already done some stuff in the past.

 

"We're (African-Americans) more expressive than the white guys," Owen said. "You look at the skilled players. We're the ones that get into the end zone. We get in the end zone more than they do."

 

Owens told the paper that the public misinterprets the actions of African-American athletes. He told the Examiner he's "shocked" at the nationwide reaction and contends that what he did was "harmless."

There's not many people in the world who could wake up, find their tounge had fallen out rendering them unable to speak, and then go "oh, thank god that finally happened". But I'm pretty sure Owens is one of them.

The reason it seems like it is always African Americans who get in trouble with the league is because last I heard something like over 70% of the players are black. I think he should be fined for saying it, but that would be considered racist by some people.

The NFL sucks they fine players for their jersey's not being tucked in properly.

anyone else think owens antics were just a little fun. hey at least an athelete was actually giving back to the fans who buy the tix and merchandise.
