Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Obviously they will play the heel role at the PPV, but on Smackdown they were the faces. Do you think the WWE should turn them both face, keep both heel, or what?
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 19, 2002 I'd like to see Angle turn face and Benoit turn heel. In my opinion, Angle was a better face than Benoit.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 I want Benoit to be setting Angle up for something... I dunno what... but I want it to be a big ole' fashioned SWERVE~!, turning Benoit heel and Angle face, and leading to one final blowoff match between the two. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Face. Any heel tries to act up, Benoit and Angle shut-em up and shut em down.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Face. Any heel tries to act up, Benoit and Angle shut-em up and shut em down. Fuck yes.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted October 19, 2002 From what I've seen, Benoit is a much better face than Angle. Assuming they win the tag titles, I'd have them both act kinda heelish for a while, with Angle being the bigger heel (taking credit for all their wins, downplaying Benoit, etc.). Then at some point Angle attacks Benoit during a match in which Benoit was doing most of the work, since Angle felt "frozen out" of the match.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Angle sucked as a face last year as far as micwork and even ringwork(sadly, it was like I was watching another Rock do almost the same matches like he usually does) went, I'd probably keep Angle and Benoit as heels. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Angle is a hard worker and I'm sure he would recognize his suckiness as a face and fix it..But in this aspect, I'd like to point out something... Â Are any babyfaces ANY good in the ring? Msot of the people who seem to have the ringwork down well and impressively are heels, whereas usually faces suck. The only good faces I've seen were Jericho (1999-2000, 2001 was getting stale), Rock, and.. and...? Shawn Michaels? RVD! Yeah, there we go. Â So I think that being a babyface limits you unless you have an impressive array of offense ala Rey Misterio or RVD. Seeing as how Angle and Benoit both are scientific, technical wrestlers, it's pretty difficult to see either of them pulling off the babyface role entertainingly and effectively in the ring, and with their characters (and with Benoit's case mic skills) it's also difficult. Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Angle and Benoit would be TREMENDOUS "shut em up and shut em down" style faces on SD. They don't really have to do much mic work, in fact it would be better if they were just silent kickass enforcers. Aggressive Angle, ala KOTR 2001, is just phenomenal. Fans will go nuts for cool violence and RUTHLESS AGGRESSION!
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 19, 2002 I thought Benoit was setting up Angle too eventually, but then he went and hit his familia with chairs.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted October 19, 2002 I rather they were both heels, but if one has to turn, I'd prefer Benoit as the face. He has a good underdog kinda thing happening as a face, as seen when he faced Austin for the wwf title. Â It would be interesting to see Kurt turn though, to see if he's added anything to improve from the brief alliance period.

Guest kindredone Report post Posted October 19, 2002 I say turn them both face. They are both great either way.
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Keeping the Strong Submission Club as a tag team is just wasting them. They're tweeners right now so one will turn full heel. I got my money on Benoit because if Angle's being prepped to be a babyface main-eventer they won't hotshot the turn like last year.

Guest Banky Report post Posted October 19, 2002 They are going to take the Benoit/Jericho route from 2001 that got ended prematuraly by Benoit's injury.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Where was that going?
Guest Banky Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Tag for a while, become best friends, then one will turn on the other down the road. They'll be allies until Wrestlemania, then they may have a Iron Man match or a specialty match of some sort. Thats how I see this one playing out. And I wouldn't be shocked to see their Wrestlemania fued to be over the Undisputed Title.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Eh. It's been done. But, I guess those two could do it well.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Not sure..I think after KOTR, they were going to maybe have Jericho or Benoit vs. Austin. Â Maybe Benoit's injury made everybody freak out and rush the InVasion.
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 19, 2002 No it was leading to either Benoit or Jericho jumping to WCW and having the top two feuds in InVasion be:  Austin vs. Booker  Jericho vs. Benoit

Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 19, 2002 So, Er...What exactly was the plan for Angle?More Shane? :) Lance Storm. Â Â No.. really.. stop laughing... he was going to take on Lance Storm because Storm's stock was much higher in WCW than it is now. He hels 3 titles at once there. I've also heard theroies that he was RVD's intended opponent.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 19, 2002 HOL EE SHIT. So basically, Angle was going to be sent to the midcard for a year and a half (at least) after losing the belt? (February 01 to now) Â Well, no reason to bitch over what didn't happen.

Guest BaldFish Report post Posted October 19, 2002 I'd say it was more along the lines of pushing Lance to the upper midcard. Â If I were booking this, I'd turn both Angle AND Benoit into proper faces. Have them bury the hatchet and just go balls-out after the Guerreros. Build them both up--particularly Angle--as young monster faces, which WWE so desperately needs. Give Benoit/Angle the same type of push that Benoit/Jericho were lined up for before Benoit and HHH got their respective neck and quad injuries. Â It's much easier to build a good heel than to build a good face. Angle has what it takes to be a really, REALLY good 1980's, pre-Attitude face. Benoit, I think, is probably better in the supporting role--he's not BAD on the mic, he just isn't that great.
