Guest candie45 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 It's kind of silly... there were 2 World championships, and 2 Tag Team championships last year. Both of those titles combined, but here we are one year later, with 2 world titles and 2 tag team titles yet again. Anyway, last year was and will be better than this years by miles. How can you even compare main events of Austin/Angle/Rob/Rock/Jericho to Undertaker/Brock/HHH/Kane. Bleck. It's sad.
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Last year's No Mercy was better no question about it. Austin© vs. Angle vs. RVD for the WWE Title was a hell of alot better than HHH© vs. Kane for some fake World Title.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Heh, just as I thought. The general consesus is that Last Year's No Mercy was the better event. Hell, I think that last year's No Mercy poster was better than this year's as well.

Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted October 19, 2002 The 2000 No Mercy blows them both out of the water. Rock-Angle and Benoit-HHH were both sweet. The 1999 show will probably be considered a better show than the steaming pile of crap they are foisting on us this weekend. Then again, I'm a little partial to the 1999 one because I got to enjoy that swank E/C-Hardys ladder match from a loge at the Gund.

I think it might because the Kane vs. HHH match will probably be WAY too long while the Torrie vs. Dawn match will be a 3 minute filler. At least bookers know how long Torrie vs. Dawn should be, but I don't think they realize it would be best if HHH vs. Kane were the same length...
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Last year's totally dominates over this year. We had the MOTY of Jericho/Rock, pretty good main event, and the ladder match. This year, we have Rey/Edge vs. Benoit/Angle. That's it. And I hope they give the tag match 30 minutes. I mean, they've given the really good workers pretty long matches on SD lately, so hopefully it will contiune on the PPV.

Guest The Superstar Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Yeah, it's not even close. I wonder if Kane/Test will be better than Kane/HHH? Oh, nevermind. Kane/Test won't be as emotionally charged.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 ...this makes me think that Benoit and Angle should some time have an Iron Man match against each other if one of them becomes the WWE Champion at sometime in the future. They did it for Rock/HHH and Bret/HBK, I'd imagine they'll eventually do it for Angle/Benoit. Oh, and speaking of No Mercy 2000...I think Scott Keith should of given Benoit/HHH ****1/2-****3/4 instead of ****1/4. I know it's not a big difference, but that match was fucking awesome. Sure, the Stephanie interference took away from it, but the finish was wicked good. I'd personally rate it ****1/2.

Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted October 20, 2002 A year ago RVD was feuding with Austin and Jericho was feuding with Rock. A year ago both guys looked to be thisclose to breaking into that top tier status. A year ago Triple H was out rehabbing his quad. Now RVD is feuding with a washed up Ric Flair who has been reduced to playing Triple H's butler and Jericho is in a pointless midcard tag match that will keep all the participants running in place. Triple H has returned from his injury to bury Jericho and RVD and there's seemingly no end in sight to his reign on RAW. Thanks for reminding us.
