Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 21, 2002 After reading some other threads, and of course watching some matches, I was just thinking that Angle deserves to be the superstar of the year in my opinion. I mean, he had two good matches with Edge, both at Backlash and Judgment Day, and his Steel Cage match against Edge as well. Plus, his match against Benoit was excellent by the sounds of it, and so was his match at No Mercy tonight. So, going from that, do you think that he deserves to be the superstar of the year? Guest Banky Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Nope, Eddie is the man this year.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 21, 2002 I gotta go with Kurt myself...closely followed by Eddy though, and Jamie Noble would be in the top
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Nope, Eddie is the man this year. Well, he also has been involved in a few good matches, and might be the superstar of the year. I did like his match against RVD at Backlash, and his Ladder match against RVD on RAW as well. Still, I'd give the nod to Angle.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Eddy by a good margin, followed by Angle and then probably RVD....
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Angle by a wide margin.
Guest ISportsFan Report post Posted October 21, 2002 I'd go Angle, then Eddy, then Benoit (gold since his return). Jason
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Crowd is into Angle immensly...same with Eddy. Both are entertaining as hell..... But I pick Angle by a REALLY close mark. Could you imagine the promos Kurt would cut if he actually went to the Olympics and won another gold medal?? Could you imagine the promos Eddy would cut if Angle came back empty handed? Man I hope they both are in the spotlight when that time comes.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted October 21, 2002 You think that Eddy will still be in WWE and kicking ass in 2004?
Guest Banky Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Yes, he is only 34.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Look at Flair...... He's a machine in the ring to this day.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Nah, Eddy is. Benoit was Man of the match in that tag match last night.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 21, 2002 If it comes to the tie-breaker of their matches against Edge...Eddie's matches built off each other, they were all stronger, his blow-off match was far better than the any of Angle's series. Angle, than Benoit. Too bad Benoit hasn't been around long enough.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted October 21, 2002 IMO, Edge is the man of the year. He's proven to me that he'll be a big player in the WWE for a long time. He's had at least 5 ****+ this year and he's also proven that he can do good on his own. Benoit would be, but he missed half of the year. Angle is probably a close second and considering Eddy didn't start wrestling til April in the WWE, he'd be third. Edit: Now thinking about it, if it wasn't for Angle transforming Edge into a main eventer early this year, Edge would be midcarding still. Therefore, Angle gets my vote as wrestler of the year followed by Edge, Benoit, and Eddy (In that order). This reminds of me of Bret/Austin. Bret basically bumped Austin into a main eventer by wrestling him in awesome matches. Am I comparing Kurt Angle to Bret Hart? Seems about right.

Yeah, against: 1) Angle 2) Angle 3) Eddie 4) Eddie 5) Angle & Benoit
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Kurt Angle is definately the male superstar of the year, IMO. And I like how, at times, it seems they've been giving Kurt a tiny bit more of an edge (not the wrestler) since he lost his hair. Kurt is the male superstar of the year. And to me...Molly is the female one, but that was in another thread.
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Eddy is the most overall best wrestler in WWE, Angle is a close seond.
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted October 21, 2002 On another note, about Edge being the man of the year in wrestling, i would agree that he has improved a lot since last year but that's thanks to guys like Rey, Kurt,Eddy and Benoit carrying his ass, the true test will come when Edge has to wrestle lazy wrestlers like HHH and UT. Guest kindredone Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Angle would get my vote for sure, If Benoit was healthy this year,he'd probably been in the running also. Edge would be my second choice,he always gives 100% out there!
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted October 21, 2002 I say Eddy. He's just been the man this year. the true test will come when Edge has to wrestle lazy wrestlers like HHH and UT. Considering that neither Benoit or Kurt has gotten even a 3 star match out of either guy makes that kinda laughable.
