Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted October 21, 2002 i do this little points scoring system from main eventing ppv's, tv, house shows, etc to get a definitive 'mark's top 10' of who has ruled the year in terms of sustained pushes, etc. currently sits at... 1--Triple-H (no surprises there, when he dropped the real world title he just made up a new one of his own) 2--The Undertaker (a pretty decent final heel run as champion, and eventually did the right thing in putting brock over) 3--Chris Jericho (although his 3-month run as undisputed champ was turned into 'the drizzling shits' by austin, hunter & steph) 4--Kurt Angle (consistently the backbone of tv throughout the wwe's year, but no title run until his olympic aspirations are sorted out) 5--Brock Lesnar (debuted mid-year and essentially handed the title on a silver platter, has great potential but still learning) 6--The Rock (found time for another brief title run, and receiving some sort of faltering torch from hogan at wm in between making movies, fans have turned on him) 7--Hulk Hogan (had an undeserved 6th title run following the nostalgic reaction he got at mania, but was too decrepit to be convincing) 8--Steve Austin (was rewarded for ruining the nwo angle by becoming raw's focal point post-split and continuing to ruin the nwo angle, quit) 9--Rob Van Dam (a very up and down year spent between the mid to upper card, but however he's booked he remains damn over) 10-Edge (after a faltering run as i-c champ, his program with angle elevated him into one of smackdown's top stars, where he remains) 11-Eddie Guerrero, 12-Chris Benoit, 13-Kane, 14-Bubba-Ray Dudley, 15-Rey Mysterio
Guest I Fear Hogans Air Guitair Report post Posted October 21, 2002 1. Eddie Guerrero (Because he's simply the best better than all the rest.) 2. Kurt Angle (Angle has had Multiple **** matches with Edge) 3. Rob Van Dam (Even being Burried can't stop RVD From Being over and he is my Favorite Wrestler) 4. Chris Beniot (Despite a late comeback this year Beniot was still better than most) 5. Rey Misterio Jr (Rey has been on fire as of late and in his first WWE PPV had a **** match with Angle) 6. Chris Jericho (Jericho Probably would have ranked higher if he wasn't depushed for unknown Reasons. 7. Brock Lesner (The former NCAA Champion and Now WWE Champion has come along way since his debut) 8. Edge (edge is a solid mic worker and better than Average Wrestler and he is also the WWE's Golden Boy) 9. Matt Hardy (Matt is no longer living in the shadow of his brother and every where i go im hearing about Mattitude) 10. Steve Austin (Although quiting the company early in the year Austin still makes number 10)
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted October 21, 2002 10. Undertaker...he half assed his way through last year, and didn't actually start working hard till they gave him the title. 9. The Hurricane...still way over, entertaining matches and gimmick is keeping him on tv, fun to watch. 8. Chris Jericho...hard to believe that this high midcard jobber had a 3 month title reign...still entertains, just hate to see him like this though. 7. Chris Benoit...UNLIKE HHH, he seems to have picked up right where he left off after his injury...if he had been back a little longer he'd be higher on the list. 6. Jamie Noble...Lookie here bay-be! Jamie has been damn impressive and entertaining since he showed up...and I like that all crusier matches aren't spotfests now. 5. Eddy Guerrero...if this was done in a couple months I'd put him at #2...but he did have some time off and that hurts his standing. 4. Edge...I like that he got himself over nicely...but I can't stand the guy, his matches are a little too predictable...definate break out star of the year though. 3. Brock Lesnar...I'm liking him more and more now...with more credible wins he would be even better. 2. Rob Van Dam...the most over guy in the promotion, even with Hunter pushing him off into a lesser feud, we all know who the whole f'n show really is. 1. Kurt Angle...far and away the most entertaining and solid worker of the last year. Should have had the world title. I think Chavo would have gotten my #11 spot...he just makes everyone look great. Matt Hardy didn't make the list...he's only been entertaining for a month anyway. And if we're starting this as a year I can't have Mysterio on the list. And HHH has not been impressive since his return. Not saying that he isn't still solid when he's not holding everyone else down...but he's not at the level he was at when he got hurt. Guest Max Danger Report post Posted October 21, 2002 10. Rey Misterio(Never been a fan of his, but he's been doing really well since his debut.) 09. Jamie Noble(He just makes me laugh. He's not on TV nearly enough, though.) 08. Matt Hardy(Can't stop Mattitude.) 07. Booker T(Most over guy on Raw, though stuck going for the tag belts. Might be best though, because then HHH can't kill all his heat.) 06. Chris Benoit(Just a notch below Chavo... just because. ) 05. Chavo Guerrero(Has been doing great along side Uncle Eddie.) 04. Chris Jericho(More because I'm a huge mark for the guy, rather than doing anything spectacular.) 03. Edge(Don't care for his character, but has had some awesome matches.) 02. Eddie Guerrero(Not too far behind.) 01. Kurt Angle(Simply the best.)
Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 21, 2002 just adding a few opinions: Goldust for making the Booker T face turn so entertaining Regal for hit and miss promos he has done, and being a team player Raven for making HEAT entertaining in his on going feud with D-Lo Brown
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted October 21, 2002 1) Kurt Angle 2) Edge 3) Hulk Hogan 4) Brock Lesnar 5) Chris Jericho 6) RVD 7) Triple H 8) The Undertaker 9) Booker T 10) Eddie Guerrero Based on accomplishments, PWI style! I should probably make another one for workrate, but i'm too damn lazy.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Hulk Hogan deserves to be nowhere near any "Top 10 Best" lists.
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted October 21, 2002 He popped a good buyrate for Wrestlemania and No Way Out (and who can say they popped a good buyrate this year besides the Rock and Michaels?) and was probably one of the top two most over performers during his short time back. On impact alone this year, he has to be up there, and he ended up following through one the initial impact unlike his buddies Hall and Nash. He didn't specify best workers or not, just superstars. Did Hogan not earn Superstar status in the past year? I'm not saying he was a great worker, but give the devil his due.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 21, 2002 But eveyrthing else fell when he was on top. He popped one good buy on his own and the NWO PPV did well based on intrigue.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted October 21, 2002 I will commend Hogan on 2 things....jobbing cleanly to Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle. In a career full of bad and selfish these were 2 moments where he actually acted like a company man....other than that screw him.
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted October 21, 2002 1. Kurt Angle 2. Eddie Guerrero 3. Rob Van Dam 4. Chris Benoit 5. Rey Mysterio 6. Brock Lesnar 7. Booker T 8. Chris Jericho 9. Edge 10. Kane(just because he's my fav, I had to add him).
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Someone who I didn't see on the lists (which, for the most part, I agree with) Molly Holly: For, despite being insulted in storylines, being one of the best female wrestlers on the roster today! (You just KNEW I had to say something about that, didn't you? ^^)

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Because it's my opinion. Obviously. Base on what?
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Based on their matches this year. Angle didn't have a single good match from Survivor Series 2001 until the Edge feud and after that was over, he didn't have another one until Rey Mysterio and Benoit. Edge had a good match with Test then had that awful Regal feud, then Angle(which was good, but not great), then the lull where he teamed with Hogan, and then the Eddy feud which is my pick for feud of the year. Edge has done better this year than Angle has, which is why I ranked him over Kurt. If it was last year, Edge probably wouldn't have even made it in the top 10. That good enough for ya?
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Point taken. Edge has been given good opponents to carry/teach him, giving us good matches from him all year. Angle has been given shit on a stick, and Benoit was gone half the year. If it wasn't best wrestlers of the year, just over all, would the order be changed? Guest Banky Report post Posted October 21, 2002 1. Eddie Guerrero 2. Kurt Angle 3. Edge 4. Chris Benoit 5. Rey Mysterio 6. Chavo Guerrero 7. Chris Jericho 8. Jamie Noble 9. Rob Van Dam 10. The Rock
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted October 22, 2002 If it wasn't best wrestlers of the year, just over all, would the order be changed? Yeah, Kurt would be behind Rey instead of Edge and it'd be a toss-up as far as the 4-5 spot between Edge and Benoit.
Guest thebigjig Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I'm baaaaaack *holds for standing ovation* 10) Shawn Michaels - Yeah, he's only had one match, but he makes the list for me because he shocked us all by actually putting on a MOTYC and proving that he is still a God 9) Matt Hardy v 1.0 - So far, the invention of Mattitude has been one of the only things WWE has gotten right in the past 6 months... so far. 8) Rey Mysterio Jr. - Need I explain myself? 7) The Rock - Came back with little if any ring rust and proceeded to have multiple great matches, making Brock Lesnar's career in the process. 6) Rob Van Dam - I only list him simply because he remains over, despite how the WWE continues to misuse him. 5) Brock Lesnar - Brock's really impressed me lately and I can't wait until the eventual Angle/Lesnar war. 4) Eddie Guerrero - Yes I placed him under Edge. Sue me. 3) Edge - I don't give a rats ass what most of you HERE think of the guy, but facts are facts... the guy is over, and the guy has the goods to be a main event superstar. 2) Chris Benoit - Jesus 1) Kurt Angle - God

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 10.Stasiak 9. Crash 8. Jericho 7. Brock 6. Nash 5. Edge 4. Kane 3. Hogan 2. Taker 1. HHH
Guest Super Pissed Smark Report post Posted October 22, 2002 1. Triple-H. He is wrestling's only true God. All tremble before him. 2. Triple-H dressed up like Kane. Almost ready for the top spot. 3. Stephanie. Ready for the top spot, the bottom spot, doggy-style, sideways, hanging from the ceiling upside-down, revolving inverted shaved-double salami stuff, etc. Obviously the most versatile performer on the roster. 4. Shawn Michaels. A legend. The only one who can hang with HHH's main event style. What more needs to be said. 5. Kevin Nash. Will win the Royal Rumble in January, because after he injures himself getting into the ring, no one will be able to lift his prone, girly-screaming carcass over the top rope. 6. Undertaker. Would be higher, but I'm just not feeling it tonight. 7. Scott Hall. He'll be back. 8. X-Pac. Ditto. 9. Brock Lesnar. The Next Big Sid. Would be higher but he didn't swallow 'Taker's blood, so might not be a team player yet. 10. Lucy. Carried Jericho during Wrestlemania build-up. Taking some time off to test the waters in Hollywood, but should be back for next year's big event.
