The WWF and Tag team main events

It really annoys me the amount of tag team main events we see on Raw and Smackdown I know I would much rather see a singles main event.

For instance instead of having Rock&Austin VsHall&Hogan as the main event if rock and hogan are fueding have rock Vs Hall and have Austin Vs hogan if he is fueding with Hall.

Thats if they want to save the fued for PPV.

I don't mind them occassionally but it is seemingly night in night out.

Why do u think they do it they are so predictable aswell what about when their are similutanous tags i wonder who will get the first punch in the face or heel?

Yeah, the amount of tag team main events is out of control. I think it has more to do with the writers being lazy.

If the goal of the WWF is to lose as much money as possible, then you would have a point.

They do it because they don't have to put any thought into booking it.

I agree.  Obviously you don't give away Austin vs. Hogan for free, but I know what you mean.  In the case of a Rock/Austin feud for example, have Rock vs. Angle as a main event, and if you want to put heat on Rock's feud, have Austin interfere, or do a run-in after the match.  These main event tag matches chock full o' main eventers are very PLAYED..

These used to be a good thing in building anticipation for the big singles matches. Now that they have the same pool of 8 guys teaming in various combinations, not once, but twice per weak its dead, dead, dead. It almost makes me miss squash matches. Maybe they should try going back to that format, Hell it didnt hurt Nitro's ratings to have a few Hardbody Harrison matches here and there

*yawn* the wwf is a business, and it does big business by selling ppv's.  they sell ppv's around singles matches between uppercard wrestlers.  therefore, while it *would* be cool to see ppv quality mains on raw and SD, it is not viable, and would only kill the company in exchange for a small ratings boost.  and to army eye, even if the endings arent clean, people arent gonna pay for a ppv when they think "hmmm, but i saw that *exact* same match on raw last week"  they wont care if there is interference, and it will just kill the ppv business, which is where wwf makes money.
