Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Starting Saturday AMC is going to be showing Horror/suspense movies 24 hours a day 7 days a week until Halloween. I know on Satuday they are showing just about all the Halloween movies, (except the first one, dammit) plus a featurette on the original. SO tune in and support the horror movie genre~! Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 21, 2002 I was wondering when their Horror movies were going to start so thanks for the heads up. Anyone hear if IFC is having another horror marathon this year?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 21, 2002 The ABC Family Crap is getting on my nerves. 13 Nights of Halloween! Because thats 3 different fears! Fear of 13, fear of Night and fear of Halloween!..but none of the crap is the least bit scarry or anything, its mostly just strange. I think I missed the Chris Angel Mindfreak thing, it was the only somewhat interesting thing that they had scheduled.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 21, 2002 I only got IFC for their WEEKEND OF THE LIVING DEAD special... Considering I'm a huge zombie movie fan, and the only time I've ever had IFC was for the weekend dedicated to zombie and vampire movies, it's kinda eerie... Guest Lethargic Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Both of them pretty much suck this year. Besides one or 2 things, they're just showing all the same stuff they show every single year. IFC's lineup is pretty much the exact same lineup as last year. At least TCM is showing some stuff like London After Midnight, The Golem and Haunted Castle. This year has bummed me out so much that I made my own horror marathon. That's all I've watch all this month is horror movies.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted October 21, 2002 No AMC or IFC in Canada.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Yeah AMC and TCM use to run horror movies over the whole month of October. Also AMC now has commercials at the halfway point in their movies so makes it even worse. At least the movies still aren't edited. That sucks that IFC will be using the same lineup again. It's even worse because i own half of the movies they show. That "Scariest Places on Earth" show on ABC family is pretty good. The only problem is that it and a nightly "special" like that Criss Angel thing seems to be the only things they show during 13 Nights of Halloween. I guess i'll have to watch Sci Fi to get horror movies that aren't shown to death on TCM/AMC and IFC this week.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted October 21, 2002 Where did you see this Weekend of the Living Dead on IFC thing? There's nothing about it on their site and it's not on their schedule. The only they have scheduled is the exact same Dario Argento marathon from last year. What sucks is that Monsterfest was ALWAYS out of whack, time wise. Because of so many introductions, movies usually started between 15-20 minutes late. So it was a nightmare to record. NOW with commercials, that's really gonna suck. Here's everything I have left to record in the next week. I already got all the other crap. TCM - Kill Baby Kill London After Midnight AMC - Serpant and the Rainbow Evil of Frankenstein Frankenstein's Daughter Blood of the Vampire Curse of the Swamp Creature IFC - The Kingdom II Murder by Numbers Jack's Back Funny Games Last few years I've had to record for 20 hours a day on three VCRs so this year is weak. Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Lethargic, it was when IFC played DawnOf The Dead, Re-Animator, Dead Alive, and some cheapo vampire movies that I forget the names of. Must've been sometime in August or July this past summer.

Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted October 22, 2002 AMC has commercials out the wazoo now. As many as any other channel. And TCM is not showing London After Midnight. They are showing a slide show of stills with an original score. The original film has been lost since a studio vault fire in the late sixties.

Can't get the real thing so you get what you can. And I'm sure still photos of London After Midnight is still better than Ghost Ship.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 22, 2002 There's alot of interesting vampire movies on AMC the 29th. IFC has some new stuff, but not much that's not been seen on IFC before. One of the pay movie channels is doing that too. Don't remember which one. But you won't have to watch edited crap then unlike TNN. Our local talk radio station is gonna be broadcasting Welles' War of the Worlds on Halloween night. That should be pretty cool. I bet some morons STILL freak out and think it's real. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I loathe AMC these days. As a long time AMC mark seeing them show commercials and even considering showing shit like Halloween 3 Day of the Witch makes me want to vomit. I'm surprised no one mentioned the Val Lewton festival that TCM had on this month. I taped the Ghost Ship (no relation to the new movie) since I needed a better tape of it. I have good copies of stuff like Cat People, Seventh Victim, Body Snatcher, etc. I don't like them as well as Universal stuff from the time period, but they're cool. Seventh Victim in particular is a disturbing movie even now.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Yeah AMC has become a sad shell of what was once a great channel. I could handle the commercials at the midway point of the movies, but now there are more and more commercials. However I'll still watch it since they have movies that you don't see on tv that often. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted October 24, 2002 AMC became a waste of time as soon as they got rid of the all-powerful Nick Clooney. I'm pretty sure I recorded Ghost Ship and Seventh Victim too. I can't remember though. I haven't checked my tapes yet. I've got 5 tapes of movies I've recorded this month so far that I haven't gone through yet. I have a list of movies that I have that I have never watched that is probably around 500 movies long. I'm trying to keep that list from growing so what I do now is record crap I want off TCM/AMC/whatever and just keep it on that tape until I get a chance to watch it. Then I copy it to it's permanent tape while I'm watching it. That way my "to watch list" doesn't grow anymore. So I have no idea really what all I have but haven't copied yet. I don't remember which channel was doing the Friday movies. I threw my cable guide away so I can't check. But if I was betting I'd bet on The Movie Channel. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I wonder why TCM didn't show I Walked With a Zombie during their Lewton fest? It's only gets ***1/2 and is considered one of his best (though personally I don't get it). AMC got rid of Nick Clooney, but the bigger sin was tossing Bob Dorian into retirement. Dorian WAS AMC! Hell, I long for 1991 and 92 when I watched AMC the most and they had obscure old RKO titles, hard to find Paramount and Universal stuff from the 30s, and also introduced me to Wheeler and Woolsey movies. Now they show the shitty Halloween sequels. Ugh.

That would make a decent double bill with Mute Witness.

I've never seen any of them, and apparently I didn't miss much. The frst two were good movies so I hope you're just referring to the movies after part 2 with "I didn't miss much". I actually enjoyed all of them. None of them after part 2 were very good, but i enjoyed them just because of Micheal Myers being in them. I actually enjoyed Season of The Witch, but I'm not including it with those because i consider it a seperate movie which it was meant to be.
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted October 27, 2002 Wait... AMC has commercials now? Boo! I was actually maybe planning on flipping it on sometime soon. That sucks... next thing you know they'll get rid of that awesome Friday night Efx line-up. Also, while on topic, my resident Full Moon shill - sci-fi is having a Full Moon Fright Night marathon on Halloween from 7AM-5AM. I've actually never gotten to see a Full Moon Fright Night yet, and especially since they've got some premiere movies that I've never seen (Shrunken Heads and Side Show), especially if none of my housemates are around thats what I'll be doing. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted October 27, 2002 Halloween sequels are OK. You SHOULD be bitching about AMC playing crap like Predator 2 and My Bodyguard. I mean come on. Not only do they play Predator 2 but they even put up banner ads for it and made it out to be a big deal. It's PREDATOR 2!!
