Guest Vyce Report post Posted October 27, 2002 Also, while on topic, my resident Full Moon shill - sci-fi is having a Full Moon Fright Night marathon on Halloween from 7AM-5AM. I've actually never gotten to see a Full Moon Fright Night yet, and especially since they've got some premiere movies that I've never seen (Shrunken Heads and Side Show), especially if none of my housemates are around thats what I'll be doing. I like the Full Moon Fright Night shows, although I must admit, I AM a Bill Shatner mark, so I enjoy watching him ham it up alongside a guy in a big rubber zombie mask. [bTW, Shrunken Heads is a pretty bad movie, except for Meg Foster, who gives a riveting performance as a bull dyke gangster.] I have to agree with the rest of you: AMC is pretty damn weak. This year in particular. Just about all of the films they're showing this year I've already seen before. The only highlight was the above-average Vincent Price min-marathon, as Early Saturday morning they played both Phibes movies, followed by "The Raven", "Masque of the Red Death", and the excellent "The Conqueror Worm" (would have been better to see the uncut version, "The Witchfinder General" but we take what we can get, no?). Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 27, 2002 Yes AMC has commercials and they are showing more and more during movies. It's obvious whoever is in charge is trying to make AMC into a money making channel now. Showing newer movies(good or bad) and showing more commercials...I don't like where the channel is going. Before long i'm sure they will be like any other cable channel that shows movies. At least TCM is sticking to their guns.

My favorite part is how they claim to be all for film presevation but then hack up movies and put commercials in them.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 27, 2002 Oh they are still supporting that? Well it won't be long before they remove all signs of being a channel for old movies.

Too bad, they had it going pretty good there for a few years.
