Charges dropped against Riefenstahl

From imdb.com....

Owing to advanced age--she turned 100 in August-- German authorities have decided not to pursue a case alleging racial hatred against filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl (Triumph of the Will). An organization of German gypsies had accused Riefenstahl of lying when she said that 100 gypsies she had used in a 1942 film Tiefland had survived the war. The gypsies group claim that they were removed from Nazi concentration camps to work on the film, then returned to the camps when shooting was completed. About 500,000 German gypsies are believed to have been killed by the Nazis during World War II.

Well, I'm sort of torn on this one, seeing as how prosecuting an 100-year old woman would in fact be a tremendous waste of government funds, but I can't stand Riefenstahl or her work. Come on, an unrepentant Nazi who made propaganda films to advance their cause deserves some sort of horrible punishment. She's also the most horribly overrated director this side of Roman Polanski, a total heavyhanded hack, and the fact that Jodie Foster wants to make a biopic of her because she's a "female pioneer" makes me physically ill. (Although even if she was a decent director, I'd still find her ethically abhorrent.) I really wish one of those Holocaust vengeance groups would take her out. Hell, pay me the right amount, and I'LL shoot her.
